Minecraft: Echoes Of the Ancients

Minecraft: Echoes Of the Ancients

Project Overview

PROJECT SUMMARY

Title: Minecraft: Echoes of the Ancients

Format: Independent Animated Feature (Fan-Created, Non-Affiliated)

Runtime: Approx. 2 hours 10 minutes

Genre: Dark Fantasy / Adventure

Target Audience: Ages 13+ — for those who grew up on Minecraft and crave lore-rich, cinematic storytelling

Tone: Mythic, emotional, nostalgic — Arcane meets Fallen Kingdom, with a modern polish and a classic Minecraft parody soul.

Logline:

In a darker, more dangerous Minecraft world, a grizzled survivor and a fearless explorer uncover an ancient corruption spreading across the realms. As the Hollow King stirs beneath the Skulk, the last descendants of the Old Builders must face the truth — or risk losing everything to what lies beneath.

About the Project:

Echoes of the Ancients is a fan-driven, fully independent animated feature film inspired by Minecraft's forgotten lore and the golden age of Minecraft YouTube animation. Think back to Fallen Kingdom, Take Back the Night, and Herobrine Origins — now reimagined as a full-scale, emotionally grounded fantasy film with queer representation, cinematic visuals, and a world built block by block. This is a passion project currently operating on a revenue-share basis. All collaborators will receive credit, portfolio use rights, and an equal share of revenue from YouTube, merchandise, crowdfunding, or other earnings. We are currently casting and hiring for the first film in a planned trilogy, with a prequel series also in development.

  • Wow. You fight like someone who’s died a lot.

  • Hold on, Mr. Sunshine! I’m Alex. I’d bow, but— (gestures to her twisted ankle) —your local undead tour guides weren’t gentle. Mind if I… uh… bunk in your obviously charming dirt hut?

  • Oh sure! Let me just waltz through the Elder Guardian-infested ocean or the literal Warden daycare to the west. You’d miss my sparkling personality, though.

  • You see these, boy? The Overworld, Nether, End… *sighs*… fools still call them ‘dimensions.’ As if they’re just… places. But they’re alive. Hungry. And once… they sang together.

  • They built a key. To reshape the world like clay. But the key… (he snaps the lantern shut, plunging them into near-darkness)… it reshaped them first.

  • Heh. Spoken like a true Builder. Just remember— (taps Steve’s chest)—the first thing they ever dug up wasn’t diamonds. It was grave.
