MIHO (2D Animated Student Thesis Film)
Project Overview
Hello! My name is Sterling Joseph and I am producing a 2D Animated Senior Thesis Film entitled “MIHO.” It’s about a lonely girl at a playground learning to find confidence in herself through the power of imagination. It’s a slice-of-life story with elements of action-adventure. Think Backyardigans meets Dragon Ball Z.
I’m seeking the roles of four characters, two boys and two girls. NOTE: the characters transform into older (teenaged) versions of themselves for a portion of the film, so a higher and slightly lower ranged version of the character is needed.

An 8-9 year old Japanese girl. She tends to be bashful, but generally playful and energetic. Has a very active imagination that influences her perception of people.
A general ballpark for this voice would be Hynden Walch's Penny from ChalkZone.

Miho's Imagined Avatar, an older, more confident version of herself. She's highly athletic, well versed in parkour and hand to hand combat.
A good reference would be Catlin Glass's Cammy from Street Fighter 4 or Erin Fitzgerald's Parasoul from SkullGirls.

A 9-10 year old boy. He’s a hyperactive little dork with a bright smile. A very warm character with a bit of grandeur to his voice. Prone to using battle-cries.

GREAT! I’m Jeremy! We need your help. Come on!! [quickly, barely contained excitement]
She’s definitely strong. But if we team up, we might have a shot! [assuredly, determined]
Jeremy's Imagined Avatar, an older, distinctly calmer version of himself. He’s a bit more laidback, but he still carries a demeanor of mischief. Still prone to battlecries.

An 11 year old girl. Athletic and spunky. She’s a real go-getter, snarky and strikingly confident. Her intensity is often intimidating, and she disdains those that don’t impress her at first.
A general ballpark for this voice would be Marÿke Hendrikse’s performance as Revy from BLACK LAGOON.
And…you are? [disdainfully aggressive, menacingly]

Mary's Imagined Avatar, an older, frighteningly more powerful version of herself. Her aggression shoots up to eleven, as she’s positively itching for a fight. Raspy with a hint of snarl.
A general ballpark for this voice would be Marÿke Hendrikse’s performance as Revy from BLACK LAGOON.
Go AWAY you nosy mutt! This is MY FIGHT! [annoyed]
…heh. Is it now? [bemused]
Fine, stranger. I’ll just mop the floor with ALL OF YOU!! [fiercely, with menace]
