Jess enlisted into the military after the death of her sister. She is assigned with her friend Matt but it does not help the ever growing thoughts of death that seep into her mind. Jess holds a lot of baggage but focuses on making others around her feel better.

Matt Baker enlisted because everyone else was, at least that's what he'll tell you. He gets lost in his own thoughts sometimes as he is trying to avoid the ever coming reality of death. Although he hates those thoughts, be assigned with your crush since freshman year always helps.. even if in a warzone.
*Nostalgic* : Hey, you remember Williams class? English, freshman year?
*Sarcastic/Joking* : Glad to see that you enjoy my pain.
