What is the Megamix/Gigamix Mega Dub?
This project is a comic dub of Hitoshi Ariga’s Mega Man Megamix and Gigamix manga series, a reimagining of the classic Mega Man series.
For those who are unfamiliar with the premise, The Mega Man series, known as Rockman in Japan, is set in the year 20XX, two brilliant scientists named Dr. Thomas Light and Dr. Albert Wily revolutionized and advanced the field of robotics. However, after ideological differences broke off their partnership, Dr. Wily began using his robotics skills to conquer the world. In response, Dr. Light's robot assistant, Rock, volunteers to be converted into a super fighting robot to stop his plans. Rock became Mega Man, the protector of the world from Dr. Wily's reign of terror!
This project aims to cover all of the one-shot stories that were covered in the manga series, now with voice acting, sounds, and music to enhance the experience!
Microphone & Recording Requirements
Please ensure your microphone provides good quality, clear audio that has a low amount of background noise. You don't need to have expensive studio equipment, but the audio you record should be clear and not have any serious issues.
Audition Recommendations
I encourage auditioning for multiple characters, this gives you not only a higher chance of being cast but also gives you a chance to show your versatility in your voice. Even the smaller/supporting roles are important to the story, so feel free to try multiple parts!
Post-Casting
Once you are cast, it is highly recommended that you have a Discord account for easier communication. This allows me to invite you to the Megamix/Gigamix Dubbing server where we share project updates, provide feedback and guidance on your lines, and discuss character-related questions.
This ensures that we are all organized and efficient, and you stay connected with the rest of the cast and me.
Project Commitment and Other Notes
Please be aware that this is a long-term project. The Megamix/Gigamix series spans multiple volumes and features a large cast of characters, so production will take time to fully finish.
Depending on what character(s) you auditioned for and were cast as, you might be asked to record multiple lines over an extended period, return for future chapters, and/or provide retakes when needed.
If you feel you cannot commit to a long-term project, please refrain from auditioning.
Any further questions should be sent via direct message to me, and I will do my best to answer them!
