Mayor Cyber: The Comic Dub Volume 1
Project Overview
Well met! I am currently looking for talented voice actors to voice two characters in a comic dub for an original comic series I have drawn myself, called Mayor Cyber. This is a slice-of-life, action-packed gag-a-day comic strip featuring cybernetic anthropomorphic animal characters and their various adventures (or misadventures), with nuggets of positivity, encouragement and surprises for readers. Target AudienceMayor Cyber is intended for a teenage audience. Any implied profanity in script will be marked with grawlixes (e.g. !#$%@). Regardless of whether voice actors choose to "fake swear", actually swear or leave silences for these instances, bleeps will be added in post in place of grawlixes.
ScopeAs of the time of the publishing of this project here on Casting Call Club, there are 19 comic strips of Mayor Cyber, the final comic strip titled Dream Scheme Bonus. This project will only contain voice work for those 19 comic strips, up to Dream Scheme Bonus. Any new comic strips I make from here on out will be reserved for another comic dub project, which I may post here on Casting Call Club should I be seeking other roles during that time. All lines are in English.
Roles AvailableThe main roles available for audition are Ip Long the Eastern Dragon, and Cursor Kasandora the Squirrel. Each character will have significant roles in the comic strip series titled Finance Follies and Dream Scheme, respectively. They may also have a couple of lines in select Sunday Special comic strips. Scripts will be given upon assignment of role, highlighting all of the lines to be performed by the voice actor, as well as general background notes on each character.
Character GuidelinesEach character listed here on this project page has a set of preset voice description tags that give a general description on the direction I would like to go with each character's personality. If after reading the comic, you have a particular voice or impression in mind for the character you're auditioning for that differs from the preset tags, you're welcome to ignore those tags and invoke your own artistic liberties for said character. I can be flexible on those requirements with enough persuasion and talent.
PaymentPayment to selected voice actors will come from my own pocket. Each role is paid a flat fee for all lines given, which is dependent on how many lines each character is given in the project script. Prices next to each character listed on this project page; pricing is in USD($). Payment will be given upon assignment of role. To expedite this process, upon assignment of role, please provide for me a method of payment that I can get you paid through. PayPal is very much preferred, but Ko-Fi or Cash App are viable alternatives as well.
CommunicationBy default, I am open to private messages here on Casting Call Club. My preferred method of communication is Discord. Discord will also open up the possibility of collaborating and communicating with fellow voice actors who are also performing on this project via a private Discord server dedicated toward this comic strip's comic dubs . You may still audition for a role without having a Discord account, but having one is highly recommended.
Timeline and DeadlinesAfter auditions close, I will need about 5-7 days to decide on and officially cast the two roles to the selected voice actors. I would like to get the final project, volume one, off the ground and on YouTube (and possibly TikTok) within January 2026. As such, I would like to receive all recorded lines from each voice actor by January 12th, 2026. This will give voice actors roughly one month to submit recordings to me at the time roles are assigned. Understandably, this time of year is a very busy season for most, so please only audition if you are confident you can meet this deadline of January 12th, 2026, should you be cast in one of these roles.
Audio QualityTo selected voice actors, please submit recordings that are mostly free from background noise and do not have clipped audio. It is possible for me to clean up audio in post within Audacity, if needed, but the less editing in post, the stronger the resulting audio quality will be. Please submit recordings in .wav file format.
RedosI highly value your personal time and as a result, I will do my very best not to ask for redos for lines. I trust each voice actor to submit their best takes and once again, I am very flexible to the interpretation of how each line is spoken. If you have any questions or are unsure of how to proceed with a specific line, please reach out to me ASAP and I will get back to you in a very timely manner. You are also welcome to submit multiple takes (no more than 3 per line please). In this case I will choose the take I feel best fits the comic dub.
CreditingSelected voice actors will be credited for their talents in this project. You will have the opportunity to let me know exactly which name you would like to be credited by (e.g. real name, screen name, etc.)
Future WorkAs I am continually working on new comics and comic strips, voice actors assigned the roles of these characters within this project will be given future paid opportunities to voice these characters again in future comic dubs. This is also why I highly encourage joining the private Discord server dedicated to this project.
Mayor Cyber is 100% AI-FreeDespite the futuristic and very light cyberpunk theming of Mayor Cyber, no Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been or will ever be used in the making of this comic series, or any other material related to this comic series, no exceptions. You can take pride that you will be a part of a project that is completely human-made by creatives just like you and me. This is my guarantee to you!
The Most Important RuleHave fun! Ham it up if needed, express yourself, and really get into the character you're auditioning for. This is a small side passion project of mine.
