About Kiante
Kiante is an immigrant from Kenya. Swahili is his first language, but his English is excellent. Kiante's family raised camels in Africa, and were reasonably successful. Kiante is well educated but prefers to follow in his parents' footsteps rather than pursue medicine, engineering, or law as they hoped.
We're looking for a Kenyan voice actor to lend their voice and experience to this role. Kiante and his husband recently gave up their life in the city to start an alpaca farm outside the city.
Kiante is playful, and sentimental.
We're looking for actors from the East African region.

When my family lost animals it was very different. Sometimes, if a predator was harassing the herd, my father would take me out, along with some of the farm hands to try and shoot it. I hated the sound of my father's rifle.
(stage whisper) We are standing at the edge of a maleficent grove, maybe one mile from our home. Pale sunlight casts long shadows like fingers over a pile of discarded bones in the grove's center. My intrepid Jazeel has tracked the creature here. We are the hunters now. And our prey is not far.
I do. But seeing my poor Ginger baby just... ripped apart like that... Jazeel, I am angry and that has overridden any fear I might have had of your shotgun. This is war, Jazeel.
About Jazeel
Jazeel is an African American from the city. Kiante convinced him they should take up farming. Although he wasn't born into it, Jazeel is growing accustomed to the lifestyle. Unlike Kiante, Jazeel sees their alpacas as livestock and is less emotionally attached to them. Jazeel and his husband gave up their lives in the city to start an alpaca farm.
Jazeel is somber and a bit self-serious. He's not as outwardly expressive as Kiante, but he is still a very attentive and caring partner.

You don't need to record this Key. Your narrating is endearing, but if there is something out there you're going to warn it we're coming. (Pause) I can't believe I let you sweet talk me into this.
I think you're being a little dramatic. Do you really think a dead tree burst through the barn wall like the Kool-Aid man and pulled a whole- ass alpaca through the wall? It's preposterous! Never mind the fact Ginger was basically cut in half. Do you think it has teeth too? Even a lion would have to work to cut up an alpaca like that. It just doesn't make sense.
(Exasperated) They're just trees, Key. Dead trees. And that's... just a pile of branches.
