(Supporting Role Recast) Project Foster - Manga-Inspired Original Fantasy Audio-Visual Drama

Project Overview

Hello! This is gonna be a simple project, so I'll be concise.

My name is Arthur "Logan", you may call me either-or. I am a writer, artist, VA, and am currently bored out of my skull. So I decided to jump-start on my personal project.

This is going to be a sort of manga-audio-drama type thing, almost like a comic dub. The project title is Project Foster, while the story title is Brushstroke, a fantasy story about a young painter traveling the world with his friends. It is my own story and something I hope to expand upon one day, maybe even create an official manga or anime.

You can watch the first preview here and
the second preview here.

What I want this Project to be:

-5 to 10 short "chapters" that function as a sort of pilot for the story,
each ranging from 3 to 8 minutes long, maybe more.

-Most will be connected in narrative, but some will not.

-The minimum is five chapters/episodes, but if we're able, I'd love to do more.

-I'm not looking at animation or anything hugely complex.
I just cannot afford that, as much as I would love to take that extra step.
I am broke and working with what I can get, plain and simple.

-I do not plan on abandoning this project, as I work on it every other day,
whether it be general artistry, fleshing out the world, or working on the scripts.

-Lastly, this is a proof-of-concept, meaning it's to set everything up for
the future of the series, however big or small it becomes.

Rules are fairly simple:
1. Have a good mic and little-to-no background noise.
2. I'm a little more lenient than most, but make sure your lines are in on time.
3. Be kind, respectful, and cooperative with your fellows.
4. Have a Discord or be okay to make one.

Hood is a mystery wrapped in an enigma, among other stereotypical phrases regarding mysterious characters.

A bartender and innkeeper by trade, her ordinary appearance reflects poorly on her storied background. A former member of the Arc-Knights, she lived through the twenty years of darkness that was the Age of Ruin, without a doubt aiding in pushing back the countless hordes of monsters that followed in its wake, and surviving the chaos and strife that assaulted civilized lands.

Approaching her fifties, but not looking a day over her late twenties, Hood is one of, if not the most deadly and experienced humans on the continent of Kalv'er. Speaking with wisdom and confidence, never mincing words, never emoting further than what is needed in any situation. To an outsider, she appears to be the perfect soldier, emotionless, cold, stoic. But her character goes further than the front she puts up. So when a group of young travellers/adventurers, fresh from a nearby village and with no knowledge of what trouble they might get into, Hood takes it upon herself to give them some advice and keep them from an early grave.

First, because she believed it to be the correct thing to do.
Second, because she felt she owed it to one of them.

Regarding the voice, I recommend you watch the first preview, the red-haired woman is Hood herself and I'd like for a good match to the original voice. However, this is not a requirement, so feel free to bring your own additions to the table. The bottom line is a not-quite-middle-age, but extremely experienced voice. Someone who's seen a lot and done a lot, and is willing to impart some wisdom free of charge.

  • [greeting] "I'm Hood and this is my inn, what can I get ya?"

  • [soberly / toasting a drink by herself] "For luck."

  • [quietly / reserved] "He did something stupid, and he died for it. That’s all you need to know, so best you leave it at that."
