Magically Ungifted Gacha PILOT
Project Overview
Hello everyone! Welcome to the audition page for Magically Gifted (The Pilot Episode). This is a gacha series pilot produced, directed and edited by Burning Purple Roses on YouTube. For now, we are only casting for the first episode. However if the pilot does well and the creator decides she can take on this project, we will be looking into making a full season of this Gacha Series.
All roles are in English only for now and unpaid. However it is a great thing to add on your resumes for work or university, or just to get a feel of the voice acting community.
WHAT IS THE PROJECT?
This is a pilot episode (Think of it as an unofficial episode 1, showing what the series could be and testing public reception) for a Gacha Club series.
The story follows our protagonist Skylar in a fantasy world where three different species exist: Humans, Angelic and Demonic beings, and Animalions. Each species comes with their own magic. However, Skylar doesn't fit into any of these categories, making her a hybrid, the first one in fifty years! We follow as Skylar attempts to conceal her identity at school, all while fighting bullies and standing up for her friends.
REQUIREMENTS TO AUDITION
No experience required, however auditionees must be 14 or older.
Our main communication will be through discord so we do also ask that you have this.
Any accents are welcomed, but please note that for any characters that are related (In this case Skylar and her mom, and Josh and Blair) we will be trying to get accents that match.
TIPS FOR RECORDING MY AUDITION?
Make sure to give us your best mic quality! We're not expecting everyone to have a full set up, but even just using the mic on headphones can help reduce background noise.
IF THE SHOW GETS MADE, WILL I BE RECAST/DO I HAVE TO DO THE FULL SHOW?
The answer to both of these is no! Should we go ahead in making a full series, we will let the voice actors from the pilot know. If they wish to continue and reprise their role in the full series, we'll be happy to have them on board! If you want to use this project as just a standalone to get some experience, that's totally okay too. We would simply recast your character if a full series is too much of a commitment, so don't be afraid to get stuck doing a full series when you only audition for a pilot episode. TL;DR, you won't be forced into any further commitments beyond the pilot, but you would be welcomed and contacted first.
Skylar's been homeschooled her entire life, and now she's finally getting a chance to see the world!.... Knowing it could cost her her life. But for now, she's too excited to care!
Skylar is spunky. She's a bit of a loose cannon who carries chaos with her, thinking she can take on any challenge. But there's a softer side to her, a genuine kindness and love for the people around her. She can lift anyone up, and empowers those around her.

"Don't worry mom, relax! You don't need to worry about the fact I'm... well.. you know.... a hybrid." [Excited, then whispering, awkward]
"Oh ho ho, sweeeet! This place is so cool!" [In awe]
"Woah. Real helpful Layla." [Annoyed]
Layla's spent her entire life being quiet, being looked down on....And she still does. At least now, she has a best friend to stand by her!
Layla's almost always got her nose in a book. She's quieter than Skylar, her best friend, but there's some fight in her. She just doesn't always use it. She's a strange mixture of timid and meek, and quietly angry and slightly sarcastic. One things for sure, she's a sweetheart, who will do anything for her friend(s?)

"Thank you for... standing up for me." [Timid, thankful]
"I believe it is named the Lucilla fragment, named after the founder of our school." [Answering question]
"Ugh, this day is going horribly. Stay calm, Layla. Nerd is just a word. Just. A. Word." [Annoyed, calming herself]
Angie is most commonly spotted flying through the hallways of the academy. On occasion, she can be found having lunch with her friends. However, her favourite place has to be the lockers, where it's easy pickings for victims to bully.
Acting as the main bully, think a Heather Chandler type, Angie is rude. She's snippy, harsh, and cold. She laughs at others pain, and berates her followers where they start asking questions. Is it a cry for attention? A consequence of circumstance? Guess we'll have to see. All we know now is that Angie is a bully.

"Woah miss smarty pants, quite the monologue." [Gleeful, mocking]
"Looks like we're table buddies. How exciting!" [Sarcastic]
"Aw, it's okay. You don't need to be embarrassed that your magic is so... weak." [Mocking]
Blair has spent her entire life being told what to do. And she doesn't seem like she's going to break the cycle anytime soon.
Serving as a 'Heather Duke' type character, Blair is one of the bullies following Angie's lead. She's a bit angrier than Angie, having moment of genuine rage. Behind it, there's a sort of desperation. Despite not being the worst of the trio, she is certainly not the best, being downright horrible to the main characters most of the time.

"Hey! Pipsqueak! We're not done with you!" [Calling out, taunting]
"Right? Plus they've started letting in weak kids, like that animalion... Sky or whatever her name was." [Grossed out]
"See? I do come up with good ideas." [Proud, but also seeking reassurance]
Almost the definition of a doormat.
Serving as the nicest member of the bully squad, Josh gets pushed around a lot. Whether it be by Angie or by his sister Blair, it doesn't matter. He's the only one to push back on the girl's bullying plans, but fails to ever make any real change, always ending up dragging behind them. A bit pathetic, but has a good heart hidden inside.... He's still a bully though. Or trying to act like one, to the best of his abilities.

"You guys need to stop. This is ridiculous. Let's just bully some random kids because we're bored!? Do you hear yourselves!?" [Annoyed, then sarcastic/enraged]
"Ha! Look at the nerd!" [Calling out, bullying]
"What!? MIss! You can't just do that!" [Alarmed, disbelief]
You will never see her coming.
Nightshade serves mostly as a gag in the pilot, being spooky, emotionless and expressing her lines flatly. Should the show go beyond the pilot, Nightshade will become more prominent.
However that doesn't mean Nightshade doesn't get to shine. She's spooky without trying, appearing and scaring literally everyone in the cast (Yes, including all the bullies). No one really knows what her deal is, just that she's the most powerful person at their school. Her lines are all delivered flatly, like she does not care. (Think Sadie from The Music Freaks if you'd like a reference)

"The names Nightshade." [Flat]
"Oh great. The bratty idiot. What do you want?" [Flat]
"If you want to leave the school with your bones intact I suggest you BACK OFF!" [Angry, then yelling. Test line for later]
Mostly just needed for one scene, potential reappearance if a full show is made.
Skylar's mom raised her daughter to be proud of who she was, despite what everyone else would try to tell her. But now, her daughter is heading off to school despite being homeschooled by her her whole life. Obviously, this makes her mom nervous, even though she knows Skylar can handle herself, and she trusts her.
