Project Overview
Hey lovelies! My name is Vesperia and I’m the head director of Vesperia Productions, here we have a brand new project in which we wish to begin casting for. Before anything, let’s answer a few questions..
WHAT EVEN IS LUNAR UNIVERSITY?
Lunar University is a cinematic, scripted MCTV. It takes place in the renowned Lunar University (LUN), in which- though ignored or overlooked by most- is known for it’s gang activity. After the sudden deaths of the previous principal and vice principal who led one of said gangs, their daughter; Sunny, was put through the ringer. Having to deal with the overwhelming grief that comes from the loss of a loved one, the pressure of having to now run the Eclipse Gang as well as attempting to figure out who is responsible for her parents deaths. All while her enemy and love interest is configuring a plan to end her and her friends lives as well.
WHAT DOES THE CASTING SCHEDULE LOOK LIKE?
The deadline we’ve set up is hard, meaning we won’t be casting before it. This project is set to close November 8th, so expect to receive a message from myself or another director from anytime between the 8th and the 15th.
I would like to note that there are a LOT more characters in whom are not listed in the casting call. By submitting an audition, you may also be messaged about another role in which is unlisted but you may better suit. Of course, if you do not wish for such- feel free to list so in your audition.
With that being said, LUN is the primary series which takes place in what we call the VP universe. All series are connected and I have a lot of ideas for mini series following characters in which we see within this one. So, please do note, that while a character may not be major in this series- there is an opportunity for them to be a larger supporting or even main character in another.
Along with this- this project has a large emphasis on Shakespearean dialect. A major arc includes the characters auditioning for and being cast in the Shakespearean play “Romeo & Juliet.” With that being said, some characters will need to be able to speak with such. Most of them have audition lines containing, however some may not. The primary ones who will include Darien, Daisy, Alexis and Sebastian- though others may need to. Please be ready for this if you decide to audition.
Finally, this is a long term project. The script is LONG. There are 27 episodes and each one is about 25-40 pages. You do the math. Upon being casted, you will be sent the servers and the scripts. You will have 3 months to get lines in, meaning we will be done with recording around summer of next year. This series will be released along with the actual school year, with that being said, it will be a hot second until release day. Be prepared for that.
TRIGGER WARNINGS
This MCTV has a lot of darker themes and topics. This includes, though is not limited to..
Gore.
Suicide.
Heavy drinking & alcoholism.
Drug use.
Gambling.
Lots of yelling and heavily emotional themes.
Grief.
Child neglect.
If you are not comfortable portraying any of these topics, this series may not be for you.
ARE THERE ANY RULES FOR US VA’S OR AUDITION CRITERIA?
Yes! Let’s go down the list together..
16+ [As stated, there are a LOT of darker themes. So, I prefer my cast to be at least 16.]
You must follow Discord TOS and adhere to VP rules- all in which will be listed for you in the server; for the most part, they’re basic rules in which you’d see in most servers.
You must adhere to VP VA guidelines. [These will all be listed in the next section of this overview.]
There is no minimum take requirement for auditions, don’t do more than three- 2 is my sweet spot. Both AABBCC and ABCABC are accepted, I have no preference.
Send your Discord in your audition.
You must be willing to voice act in the future seasons.
This is a LONG TERM project. Be ready to be in it for the long haul.
You must have decent audio quality. [I don’t care what you use, you can use a phone mic. Just have minimum-no background noise and clear audio.]
WHAT ARE THOSE VA GUIDELINES?
A series of rules for our VA's to make editing audio and recordings easier for myself and our audio engineers.
1. Editing Standards : Please remove any errors or bloopers from primary line submissions and place them in the designated bloopers chats.
2. Recording Sequence: Ensure that lines are recorded in the specified order within the scripts.
3. Scene Separation: Record scenes separately, placing all lines within a scene into one file.
4. Take Limit: Limit your recordings to a maximum of two takes per line. For questions regarding inflections, feel free to direct message me or any available admin.
5. Audio Quality: Avoid instances of peaking or excessive quietness in your lines. Utilize Audacity or other appropriate programs for line editing. Alternatively, submit lines to the line dump for initial editing. Note that overly quiet lines may necessitate resubmission for volume adjustment.
6. Pronunciation Accuracy: Make sure that character names are pronounced correctly. There should be pronunciation guides up and pinned in news chats, if not, feel free to shoot me a direct message or consolidate an admin.
7. Editing Consideration: Allow a one-second interval between lines to help lines become easier cut during the editing process.
8. Submission Protocol: Submit all lines in their respective episode/scene chats for streamlined organization.
We will have opportunities for our audio engineers to edit your lines for you, if for whatever reason you are unable to. We will also have pronunciation guides (both written and audio) up for you to reference.

As the principal’s son, he has a lot of pressure in regards to becoming the best role model possible to the rest of the school and to keep up appearances in all regards.

She also struggles with alcoholism herself, so if that’s not something you feel comfortable portraying.. Skip this one.
