The main character of the manga, and easily the most challenging role, as it requires the most lines. Tohru is extremely sweet and well-mannered, but can be a bit airheaded at times.Her voice is high-pitched and soft, going squeaky when she is distressed or spooked. Yuki is the Rat of the Zodiac. Known as The Prince due to his beauty, he may seem unapproachable at first. But once you get to know him, he is intelligent, soft-spoken, and kind through and through. His voice is medium, a tad on the higher side, and is very soft, breathy, and dreamy. His voice doesn't tend to be monotone, but has a very consistent tone. Kyo Sohma is the Cat of the Zodiac. Usually excluded from Sohma family activities and known for his hatred of Yuki, Kyo is extremely hotheaded and swears often. Despite this, around Tohru, he softens a lot, turning more tsundere-ish. His voice is similar to Yuki's, but with a sharper, much less breathy edge to it compared to his. Please reference Jerry Jewell from the 2001 anime if you need a reference.

Shigure is the Dog of the Zodiac, and he lives up to his name. On the surface, he's the perverted character relief, but on the inside, he's a manipulative and sadistic man who will stop at nothing to get what he wants. He has a medium-deep voice that can go high to provide humor. He also has a bit of condescension in his tone most of the time. Please reference John Burgmeier from the 2001 anime for a reference!

Arisa is one of Tohru's best friends. Showing the Yanki and Sukeban styles on the outside, she is an extremely caring and joyful person on the inside. Her voice is high and slightly annoying at times, but it becomes growly when she's mad. Please reference Meredith McCoy in the 2001 anime if you need a reference.
