Nani Pelekai is a strong, compassionate, and resilient young woman who carries the immense responsibility of raising her younger sister after the loss of their parents. She is fiercely protective and deeply devoted to her family, often putting her own dreams and happiness aside to ensure Lilo is safe and cared for. Although the stress of balancing work, finances, and guardianship sometimes makes her impatient or frustrated, her love is unwavering and always motivates her actions. Nani is independent, hardworking, and determined, preferring to solve problems on her own, yet she gradually learns the importance of accepting help from others.

Jumba Jookiba is an eccentric, highly intelligent, and mischievous alien scientist known for his brilliant inventions and dramatic personality. Although he is introduced as the creator of Stitch and initially appears self-serving, he gradually reveals himself to be caring, loyal, and surprisingly compassionate. Jumba has a dry sense of humor, enjoys experimenting and solving problems, and often approaches situations with curiosity rather than fear. Despite his reputation as an "evil genius," he develops a genuine affection for Lilo, Stitch, and their unconventional family, becoming a dependable friend who is willing to protect those he cares about.

Stitch is a mischievous, intelligent, and fiercely independent alien who is initially driven by chaos and destruction. Created as a living weapon, he is impulsive, stubborn, and often acts aggressively, believing he has no purpose beyond causing trouble. However, after meeting Lilo, he gradually develops empathy, loyalty, and a deep capacity for love. Stitch becomes protective of those he considers family and learns the importance of kindness, trust, and belonging.

Pleakley is an anxious, overly cautious, and highly emotional alien who is often overwhelmed by Earth and its “dangerous” environment. Despite working for the Galactic Federation, he is not suited for combat or serious missions, preferring diplomacy, research, and observation instead. He is frequently comedic due to his fearfulness and tendency to panic, especially about Earth’s insects and wildlife. However, Pleakley is also kind-hearted, supportive, and gradually becomes more attached to Earth and its people, especially through his bond with Jumba. Over time, he shows adaptability and even embraces Earth culture in increasingly humorous ways, highlighting his open-minded and gentle nature beneath his anxiety.

Cobra Bubbles is a serious, intimidating, and highly disciplined social worker with a calm but commanding presence. At first glance, he appears stern and unapproachable, especially when dealing with Nani and Lilo’s unstable situation, but underneath that tough exterior he is fair, observant, and genuinely concerned about the wellbeing of children. He takes his responsibilities very seriously and believes in doing what is necessary to ensure a safe and stable home environment. Despite his intimidating reputation, he is patient and ultimately compassionate, choosing to give Nani opportunities to prove herself rather than immediately separating the family.

David Kawena is a friendly, laid-back, and kind-hearted young man who serves as a supportive presence in Nani and Lilo’s lives. He is patient, optimistic, and often acts as emotional support for Nani, encouraging her during stressful moments and helping her believe in herself. David is hardworking and passionate, especially about surfing, and he approaches life with a relaxed, “go with the flow” attitude. Unlike many others in the story, he rarely becomes angry or judgmental, instead choosing understanding and encouragement. His calm and dependable nature makes him a grounding figure in the chaotic environment surrounding the Pelekai family.

Captain Gantu is a strict, prideful, and highly disciplined member of the Galactic Federation who takes his authority and missions very seriously. He is physically imposing and often relies on intimidation and force to achieve his goals, especially when pursuing Stitch. Gantu is very by-the-book, valuing order and obedience, which sometimes makes him seem cold or inflexible. However, his seriousness is also driven by a strong sense of duty and a desire to maintain his reputation within the Federation. Despite his competence, his frustration grows when his missions repeatedly fail, especially due to the chaos caused by Stitch and his allies.

Grand Councilwoman is a wise, authoritative, and highly respected leader of the Galactic Federation who maintains order and fairness across intergalactic affairs. She is calm, diplomatic, and thoughtful, preferring careful judgment over impulsive decisions. While she can appear stern when dealing with serious threats like Stitch, she is ultimately reasonable and capable of compassion when presented with evidence of change and growth. Her leadership style balances strict responsibility with understanding, and she plays a key role in allowing Stitch to remain on Earth under proper supervision, recognizing the importance of family and redemption.
