Life of Edgar Jay (Pilot Ep)

Life of Edgar Jay is an upcoming slice of life/comedy 2D animated web series created by Sean Malin. The series follows the life of the titular character Edgar Jay surviving independently at 18 years old in his own home while still going to school with two failed grades. He resides in the city of Greenhaid and is constantly eager to graduate as he struggles to navigate within the harsh circumstances of the education system. His best friend Marvin (who he refers to as Marvie) is his nonchalant, intelligent, and more mature pal who stays with him through thick and thin, although sees Edgar making some very imperfect decisions every now and then. The series is planned to release on YouTube @TheMalinverseOfficial.

Production is currently on the pilot episode, where everything shall begin.

This project is for all ages, no nsfw ever.

READ BEFORE SUBMITTING

This production is take place on a private Discord server for members of the project only. A Discord account will be required for your involvement. Your Discord profile cannot have any NSFW content. It will be mentioned in each role which roles appear continuously throughout the series after the pilot episode to know if you’re up to consistently voicing a character. When participating in this project, you must comply with the following rules:

• This project is made under the purpose of passion and for a potential portfolio for everyone involved, it will not be paid and will not be for profit (not sold or monetized through ad revenue online). If you only participate in paid projects, this project is not for you.

• Due to a gray area regarding the American child labor laws, you must be atleast 18 years of age to participate. Anyone under 18 will not be allowed and any suspected minors who are involved may be asked for verification. This is to prevent possible legal issues having others work on the project within a certain age. Failure to verify age if requested for suspicion will result in a ban.

• The only ownership I will claim from your involved work will be any voiceover lines recorded and sent to me or on the server. You will not obtain the copyrights to “Life of Edgar Jay” or any of its contents included. All your submitted lines (including unused ones, but excluding CCC auditions) will become part of the copyrighted work of the project. Using your submitted lines outside of the project (like in another project, or using unreleased lines as a demo on social media) without my permission will result in a ban. Once lines are submitted, even if unused, they cannot be revoked for their purposed use.

• For proper crediting purposes, your first and last name are required. Please include it in your submission if it isn’t already on your CCC or Discord profile. Nicknames are not allowed. This rule exists due to people changing their nicknames continuously in the past involved in older projects. Abbreviations however are allowed depending on how they are abbreviated if you really want the role but still prefer a bit less revealed in your name if its private. (E.g. Sean Ma.)

• To prevent issues with commercial purposes, only use Audacity for recording your lines as its an open source software.

• You cannot share or leak any unreleased material of this project when posted on the Discord server (e.g. animatics, unreleased voiceover recordings, concept art, scripts). This will result in a ban.

• Promoting the released or permissive aspects of the project on your socials to get people to hear your performance or to support the project is allowed. However, you cannot post anything that could hurt its reputation (swearing as your character, sexual content, defamation, racial/lgbtq comments/slurs, impersonating me or another member, making money off of it, etc.)

• Some roles have more prominent roles than others. If you think you’ll be too busy with your personal life to record for characters with more recurring dialogue, this project may not be for you.

• Please read the character’s descriptions before submitting lines to ensure you feel like you fit the character. (Marvin being Hispanic for example, Latin VA is needed)

• If any voice actors cannot record their lines after a really long time, they may no longer be associated with the project due to it causing an overlong delay. However, many voice actors can be too busy and aren’t always in control, if you find yourself busy, please let me know so we can arrange something out for recording your lines at a later (and appropriate) time.

• When recording your lines, please ensure the quality is good enough. You cannot have any audible noise in the background (like a TV, song, crowd, very loud air conditioner) you may need to record in a quiet room or wait until whatever is happening stops.

• It is not recommended to participate in this project if you have been involved in any projects (past or planned for the future) that are extremely NSFW/p*rnographic. Since this project is for all ages, I do not want any minors being potentially exposed to adult content they could find if they were to search up your name.

• Possible re-releases of a project that the lines were recorded for

• Editing the specific sound of the lines for a specific scene aligning with its context (reverb, noisegate, pitching and speed [if necessary])

• Released behind the scenes media and being audible in commentary videos

Will not be used for…

• Sexual/NSFW content

• Defamation

• Other projects without voice actor’s permission

• Illegal purposes

• AI

If any of the above is violated, you will either be warned or banned from the project depending on the rule and the severity of the violation.

By submitting your auditions for your role(s), you agree to all of the information above for your submitted recordings when participating in this project. Once you submit any lines, they cannot be revoked from their purpose.
