Library of Ruina English Fandub: Lower Floor Sephirot.

Project Overview

Library of Ruina is a Turn based deck building battle simulation game developed by ProjectMoon and serves as a sequel to Lobotomy Corporation. However, it deviates heavily from its predecessor not only in terms of gameplay, but also with a brand new art style, story, and even voice acting.

It is a dark story in which you discover the goings-on in a strange city and learn about its structure, and how life is lived by its inhabitants… with a twist. You will peek into the life of guests who are invited to the Library as they fight to retrieve a book they desire. The catch? If they lose, they become new books that are then added in the Library, wherein all they know is recorded in the pages which becomes abilities for you to use.

Despite the grim premise, this game features a wide and colorful cast of characters that add to its charm. Though many of the characters appear only in their respective arcs, they are given a lot of focus so that you are able to learn about the world around you through small glimpses into their lives.

Malkuth (Pronounced Mal-khut)

Unpaid
cast offsite

Malkuth is the Patron Librarian of the Floor of History. She gathers the books you obtain in order to compile the history of the city. She's often cheerful and full of energy, accompanied by a bright smile that radiates youth. This is in major contrast to when Roland first sees her as she's arguing with Angela about having to follow her orders again. Having lived two lives already, she works hard now to realize her true self, despite the circumstances.

Voice: High to Medium High. Energetic and exudes spunk.

  • “Did you really think you could make me happy by just giving me a human body? Don’t forget. I still don’t agree with you!”

  • “...Hello there. I’m the Patron Librarian in charge of the Floor of History… Malkuth!”

  • “You probably heard bits of it, but… I have no choice but to follow her orders, no matter how I feel.”

Role assigned to: Dazon

Yesod is a young man with a sharp tongue and an even sharper glare. A logical thinker who is well-suited to his role in the Library as the Patron Librarian of the Floor of Technological Sciences. Professional, and lives by the philosophy of "A well conducted body leads to a well conducted mind" to the point where he adjust Roland's clothing several times. He says what is on his mind without fail, coming off as snarky and uptight. When he is angry or talks about subjects he dislikes, he doesn't raise his voice more so than shows it with a seething quiet anger behind his words.

Voice: Medium to Low. A confident speaker. Open to takes where his confidence can seem slightly pompous.

  • “I am Yesod, the Patron Librarian of the Floor of Technological Sciences.”

  • “It’s obvious that we wouldn’t approve of her.  Angela…She utterly crushed our hopes at the very last moment.”

  • “Indeed. My role is to collect and sort books about the technological sciences of the City, specifically. Since it’s clear that we are both well aware of our occupations, kindly take your leave now.”

Hod

cast offsite

A polite girl who strives to be a good person despite having her own fair share of baggage. She is the Patron Librarian of the Floor of Literature. She is not one to raise her voice, and struggles to sometimes speak her mind on certain scenarios, but she is an avid listener and has a warm presence about her. Hod does her best not to force her opinions on others and hear out everyone. Her personality is very much in contrast to Malkuth's energetic nature.

Voice: High to Medium. A warm comforting voice that can be as welcoming as a kind older sister. Slightly skittish.

  • “Hello. I’m Hod, in charge of the Floor of Literature.”

  • “...I’m not at all friendly toward her, that’s for certain. But we made a deal with her, so we’re obliged to help her without complaint.”

  • “...Among the books you bring, I will be sorting those about the literature of the City. As we collect more books, you might be able to find answers to your questions, whether you like it or not.”
