Project Overview
Seeking 21 and over participants for "Let's Play and Perform Final Fantasy VII." Please note that I will not be whitewashing the role of Barret.
Logline: A mercenary joins an eco-terrorist group to stop a mega-corporation from draining the planet's life force.
Yes, this is the legendary Final Fantasy VII. This is a chance for those who always wanted to play through the original and perform as one of the characters amongst a group.
It is not necessary to be familiar with FFVII. It would be lovely to have people on board who will experience the story for the first time. Those interested in experiencing the story and game are best suited as opposed to those who are only in it waiting for their lines.
Although this is the original version of Final Fantasy VII, it will be played with mods so the English translation is entirely new (Shinra Archaeology Cut) with cut content restored and some quality-of-life changes such as 60fps and widescreen support.
What is a "Let's Perform" ?
They are akin to cold reads and table reads. They are done for fun and for practice, basically to provide an English dub when the game has either no voice acting or voice acting in another language. The performances are live-streamed to Twitch and uploaded to YouTube for archival purposes. The game's screen is streamed to Discord for participants to read their character lines, while the game is played. Examples of past sessions can be found at

Through Parsec (a free application where one connects to another computer), participants will be able to control their characters. So those auditioning for a playable character will need to be able to do their own "stunts." Don't worry, battles are simple and party members will be there to help.
Although this is technically voice acting, my approach is more akin to on-camera acting due to the live aspect and the mandatory requirement of having cameras on for Discord. This is so you can look at your scene partners and deliver your lines to them. If you're a voice actor, I still encourage you to apply if you're interested.
When Are the Streaming Sessions?Sessions will typically be on Saturdays at 11:30 PM EST. Each session lasts roughly two hours.
Please understand that when you're commit to this project, you will commit to showing up. If you will be absent, please let me know in advance. Unexplained absences or last minute cancellations due to events within your control are not acceptable. If you have a variable work schedule on Saturday night or health conditions, this will not be a good project for you.

Barret is the 35-year-old leader of a cell of the eco-terrorist group Avalanche, trying to prevent Shinra Electric Power Company from using mako, the life source of the planet, as a form of energy.Barret fights passionately for his cause to protect the planet. He cares greatly for his allies, motivating them with powerful speeches, while also fighting on the front lines of his cell's operations. His seemingly benevolent cause of fighting for the planet is a cover for his personal vendetta and anger, which he later must come to terms with. Despite his brash and sometimes violent attitude, Barret has a good heart and is torn between fighting and caring for his daughter, Marlene.
