Spider-Men vs. Venom (LEGO Stop Motion)

Spider-Men vs. Venom (LEGO Stop Motion)

Project Overview

INTRODUCTION

Hi everyone! This casting call is for a stop-motion fan animation short tentatively titled Spider-Men vs. Venom, which will be created entirely through LEGO stop-motion with partial digital effects to enhance the physical aspects.

Production has already begun, with certain roles already filled. The listings here are for roles that are still open.

This film will be posted to the Chrivision YouTube Channel, and will be one of many more Spider-Man themed episodes to come. The idea is to build a world around these characters, while giving our own spin on these icons that people have grown to love.

Also, this will be the first of the films on the channel to feature mouth animation for unmasked characters, allowing for more expression and a professional feel. (awesome.)

All roles are to be performed in the English language.

FILM OVERVIEW

The film follows - you guessed it - Spider-Man (Peter Parker) and Spider-Man II (Miles Morales) as they have to defend the city and themselves from one of Spider-Man's most iconic villains, Venom - formerly known as Eddie Brock.

At its core, due to the nature of the stop motion medium, we tend to lean into the absurd and comedic elements that a children's toy like LEGO can provide naturally. Therefore, the genre conforms closest to a Comedy/Action short film; however, there are certainly plenty of sprinkles of dramatic story beats and character arcs for our protagonists and antagonist to have.

The short will range between 8-15 minutes in runtime once completed, meaning that major roles will have around 10 lines, while minor roles will have 3 lines, at the least.

DEADLINE

The deadline to Audition is September 15, 2025 (was previously August 29, 2025).

WHAT TO EXPECT

You'll be greeted by Christian (me!), the owner of the Chrivision YouTube Channel. It is preferred for you to have Discord so that we can converse easily, but at the very least we will be speaking through email. Discord is recommended for easy messaging and voice calls (if necessary).

Once cast, you will be provided the segments of the script that pertain to your character, with necessary context filled in to put you in the right headspace for the role.

After the voice lines have been sent, animation for those scenes will begin and the project will continue.

It should be noted that as stop-motion animation is an enjoyable but time-consuming medium, it will likely be some months before the full animation would be complete.

Therefore, we will make sure to consistently update the cast on the progress of their scenes, as well as the completion of the film as a whole.

When it is completed, each cast member will receive full credit in the credit roll at the end of the short, as well as the description under the video. If you want a specific social media/website of yours to be featured in the description as well, we are happy to link that for you; just be sure to notify us.

Cast members will also receive downloadable .mp4 files of their segments of the video (albeit without the music that will be used in the actual short, due to licensing).

WHAT WE ASK OF YOU
  • Enjoy your role! - It's Spider-Man, and it's LEGO. Go wild! This is supposed to be a low stress, fun fan collaboration that all audiences can enjoy; as such, feel free to really go all out with the character, and embrace the absurdity of the role.

  • Please make the audio as clean as possible! - while it's certainly not cheap to have the highest level equipment, it would be preferred if the voice lines sent in are free of background noise, and as crisp as can be - the cleaner the audio, the more immersive the film will be to the audience. Similarly, make sure your microphone can handle a little loudness, as certain characters are required to get pretty emotional!

  • Please send in lines as separate .wav or .mp3 files - this is to ensure the most creative control and freedom during the editing phase.

  • Stick around! - These characters are set to appear in future shorts on the channel; meaning you are highly likely to be asked to voice act again in the future if you get the part now. (This does not mean you are forced to say yes in the future, of course, but it is still good information to know and consider)

  • Be you. - It's understood that these characters have already reached legendary status, with many different iterations and representations of the characters in various forms of media. However, this does not mean you need to try and imitate another actor/actress; make the role your own! Any demo lines from different established properties are solely meant for you to capture the essence of the character.

  • Numerous takes are highly encouraged! - while this can be discussed more over chat or voice call, differing takes with differing tones are encouraged for more freedom during editing.

IMPORTANT NOTES
  • Currently, we are only casting for the role of Eddie Brock, but NOT Venom. However, if you really want to audition for both, or maybe even just Venom, you are welcome to attempt it, and you may be considered. (Venom currently has 10 lines in the script, while Eddie only has 5, totaling to 15 if you were to receive the part for both.)

  • This project is not affiliated with Marvel, Marvel Comics, or the LEGO Group.

Voice Actor
Miles Morales/Spider-Man II

Unpaid
Role assigned to: RMW Studios

Miles is the newest Spider-Man on the block, currently being mentored by the original. He's learning the ropes still, but is powerful in his own right. He's altruistic, looking to help when he can, but his lack of experience can sometimes get him in unfortunate situations. Fortunately for him, he doesn't let it beat him down, even if it shocks or confuses him, or literally beats him.

*Character currently has 10 LINES in the script.

Tones needed in script: comedic, shocked, confused

Please use these demo lines (with provided context) from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse as reference for the character below.

Miles, greeting people that are cheering him on after saving the city from Kingpin:

*fist bumps a kid* "What's up little man?... Yeah, I'm the new Spider-Man! Check it out!

*attempts to climb the wall, but slips*

Uh... that was... part of the move."

Miles after meeting the spot for the first time, who is currently robbing the store:

"Why do people even call it an ATM machine? The M stands for machine."

Miles after being confronted by Spider-Man 2099, who just told him that Miles isn't worthy of being Spider-Man:

"Everyone keeps telling me how my story is supposed to go... nah. Imma do my own thing."

Role assigned to: SpeedyGRT

Gwen is an intelligent, hard-working individual; she's often kind, and thoughtful, but she'll take things personally if someone close to her doesn't give her the same consideration. Even she can get irked when dealing with ridiculous situations (and people.)

*Character currently has 4 LINES in the script.

Tones needed in the script: annoyed, frustrated, angry

For reference, here are demo lines (with context) for Gwen from the Spectacular Spider-Man TV Series:

Gwen, frustrated after her best friend Peter kept bailing on their plans together, talks to him on the bus to school:

Gwen: "Say, aren't you football star Peter Parker? How come you aren't hanging with your new friends?"

Peter: "...Look, I know that I've been acting like a jerk. I put taking photos for the Bugle before more important things, but I promise it won't happen again. So can you forgive me already?"

Gwen: "You're forgiven. It would take too long to train someone else."

Eddie Brock

Role assigned to: Walker

Eddie Brock is a hotheaded and self-serving individual. Constantly belittled by circumstances, Eddie will look to blame anyone for his problems but himself. Everything seems to crumble down on him, and it all seems to point to one person... Peter Parker.

*Character currently has 5 LINES in the script.

Tones needed in the script: apologetic, frustrated, angry

Please use these demo lines (with provided context) from Spider-Man (The Animated Series) as reference for the character below.

Eddie, enraged after finally being fed up with life, blaming it all on Spider-Man:

"He cost me my job... my reputation... *sneezes* my health!

*notices an eviction sign on his front door*

...my apartment!?"

Eddie after recently bonding with an alien symbiote, granting him abilities capable of fighting Spider-Man:

"Thought it was over, didn't you, Spider-Man? You made a fool of Eddie Brock whenever you could!

You rejected the symbiote that only wanted to make you stronger; well... surprise, surprise. Now, we're one. Now, we're gonna make you pay."

J. Jonah Jameson

cast offsite

Typical JJJ: a somewhat narcissistic, definitely sarcastic, pessimistic individual who is very set in his ways. Since the beginning of vigilantism in New York city, he's had a specific distaste for one vigilante above all else: Spider-Man; and it's even worse now that there's 2 of them. But if there's one thing he values more than defaming Spider-Man, it's making sure he's running the best newspaper in all of New York.

*Character currently has 3 LINES in the script.

Tones needed in the script: angry, angry-happy? You can never tell with this guy.

Please use these demo lines (with provided context) from Spider-Man (2002) as reference for the character below.

Jameson, annoyed after reading the most recent edition of the Daily Bugle, with the cover page reading "Who is Spider-Man?":

"Who is Spider-Man? He's a CRIMINAL, that's who he is! A vigilante... a public menace! What's he doing on my front page!?"

Jameson, frustrated after no one seems to be able to get more pictures of Spider-Man for his paper:

"Put an ad on the front page: cash money for pictures of Spider-Man! He doesn't wanna be famous? Then I'll make him INFAMOUS!"
