Character: In this series, Bruce Wayne is 22 years old, and has just returned to Gotham City to become Batman.
I always take murder personally in Gotham. (*As Bruce Wayne*)

Character: Black Mask is the lead villain in this episode, and possibly this season. He is a crime lord who's actions will interfere with the lives of many top Batman characters.
I am the new, undisputed crime lord of Gotham City. I am everything this city deserves and more. I am the darkness that fills every living soul in this sordid old town, including the blackest, most twisted soul of all.....I think you know who I'm talking about.
Character: Alfred Pennyworth is the butler of Bruce Wayne upon his return to Gotham, and assists Bruce in his crusades as the Batman.
We soldier on undaunted, you and I, Master Bruce. And if I may say so, sir, I couldn't beg, borrow or steal a finer way to live my life.
Character: Gordon is a GCPD detective working alongside Harvey Bullock to investigate the murder of a fellow officer, leading them back to Black Mask.
Under the mask, he's just a man, like you or me. And no man, not even him, is right one-hundred percent of the time,
Character: Bullock is a GCPD detective working alongside James Gordon to investigate the murder of a fellow officer, which will lead them back to Black Mask.
Your kind make me puke. The masks and the gimmicks and the games. It's all a joke to you, huh? Our lead suspect is dead and it's all a joke.
Character: Philip Kane is Bruce Wayne's uncle, and the owner of Wayne Industries following the murder of Bruce's parents.
We've been doing some incredible work these last few years. We finally merged the families, you know. Kane Chemicals is now a part of Wayne Industries.
The research we're doing, from tissue growth to sonic deterrents...we've finally become a leader in protective technology.
Character: Jason Bard is a detective for the GCPD who is killed in the first episode by Black Mask.
They keep looking at me like I did it. Like it's somehow my fault you're in here, just because I cuffed you.
Character: Louis Ferryman is Black Mask's top henchman. In this series, he's more of a leading henchman as opposed to the big villain he is in the comics.
Jewellery. Art. Rare coins. I like these things. They make me feel more cultured than I truly am. I know it's petty, but it made me happy. Then you came along and stole all of my nice crap.
Character: Jack Ryder is a news anchor for WGBS News. He will have rather limited appearances throughout the season.

Character: This is just a generic thug, who will be used for interrogation by Batman.
