Project Overview

Hello everyone! This here is the LEGENDS: PILOT EPISODE casting call! LEGENDS is an Indie Animated Series created by Kierra Hunter (Kierra28), founder of Iris Station. All of the pilot is currently being hand drawn and written by them, with strong passions to make progress on it! LEGENDS is a show that starts off cutesy but turns out to be in a more gruesome reality.

LEGENDS OVERVIEW:

Imagine a cartoon like The Amazing World of Gumball mixed with more psychological horror and is a bit like Owl House. Legends starts off as a show about 3 kids and a mythical entity. Marlive the Squirrel and his friends Korot the Echidna and Hoppy the Bunny, along with Parah the artificially made hybrid. Marlive’s story was about beating bad guys and succeeding in Parahs missions… until we realize that's not what reality really is. Legends is about 3 legends in training, Marlive the Squirrel, Troy the short-tempered Nederian Redon, and Lorfy the determined warrior. Join Marlive and the planet-hopping adventures to slowly uncover a very gruesome underlying problem in their universe! The Big Three.

WHAT WE ASK OF YOU

Great verbal and written communication skills is crucial for this project (or any project in general!) please have proper communication with me and other crew members around you. Be able to make a message clear enough for anyone to understand!

Whichever field you want to apply to; you must have some experience in it. And artists are required to have at least 2 years of experience.

You may have to be comfortable with using Discord (Application software) as this will be our main and probably only source of communication for now.

For voice acting, having fun and immersing yourself in the characters depth of soul is important. If Kierra asks you to retake a line, its nothing personal! They just want the most fitted tone for the characters!

Most of all, we ask that you must have a passion/love for what you do. We would hate to see crew members leave due to not making it “big” fast enough. It's imperative that to be with us, also love what you do. And as this is a passion project, you would not get paid in this era of development, as I'm a young artist who just left from high school with little money.

  • Hey! It’s past the audition date! Why are we open?

    Hey, just an update on the projects auditions!

    Thank you guys SO MUCH for the interest and went on this project! We’ve already started doing the voice acting and it is phenomenal so far! And I can say for sure that I’m content with the VA cast as is, as one more is pending on our list

    Elana’s role is slightly opened but one role from a couple weeks ago is pending from someone we were reading to hire based on another audition. Thus, the role is in an iffy spot right now. If they respond we and take the role we will definitely close Elana!

    Why is it still open?

    Well, since I am content with what we have it would make sense to mark the project as “completed”. However we definitely need help with animations and background art. We need 2 of each type of artist. Two mainly because if it’s just one I wouldn’t want to make them do everything alone ^^” (unless told otherwise).

    Right now we need

    1 more Background Artist

    1 or 2 more 2D Animators (2 is optional, may stick with just one since I’m one of them)

    2 more Artists/Illustrators

    Everything else is pretty much set except for these roles. If you know someone who may be eligible for these roles (especially animator) please share the project 🌟

    The Legends project really means a lot to me, for so many talented people sharing interest thank you so much! And thank you for all the auditions! Even if you didn’t make it in, you guys are truly so talented💫

    In reference to the voice acting I’ve realized that some of the links either don’t work or just aren’t there. I am currently fixing Parah’s voice sound-alike and adding Marlives! Let me know what else is unclear or is missing!

8-year-old Marlive || 90’s Moonin [Video demonstration] 

Marlive is a young enthusiastic boy full of innocence and confidence. Despite his voice being high pitched, he has a faint deep quality.

Adjustments: In comparison to 90’s Moonin, WAY less calm, more energetic! And no accents.


Marlive is a very energetic, carefree, and airheaded boy with a high sensitivity of kindness. As any child would! He believes in being someone’s hero and making their day better. If other people feel happy when helped, he also feels very happy. If he fails that though, he feels extremely anxious and sad. He is a very strongly emotional people pleaser, as any young guy at his age would be. Being happy and making others happy is important! It should always be important.

moderate Female voice. 

Adjustments: A bit high pitched with some confidence and slight enthusiasm!

Parah is very goal-oriented with a passion for creating harmony for all of the Animalia Kingdom. With her brains and big heart, she feels she has the ability to truly accomplish an ideal harmony for all in despair from earth. She's geeky, and very straightforward. Giving an upbeat and optimistic attitude on the outside. But the second things go wrong, it's a lost swirling panic. Due to her narrowmindedness, she lacks full awareness of whats happening outside of the goals she's so focused on. Her humor is sarcastic and uses it very often, but is also sensitive to others feelings. “But sometimes it still doesn't feel like she understands.”- Marlive

Maybe you could teach me a thing or two?

SIDE CHARACTER

Donna is a 7-8 year old girl who has a strong love for rodents and animals in general. She loves nature to the point where she’d cry if someone killed a caterpillar or a lady beetle! Despite this, because of her strong love for animals she can at times disregard the animal's wellbeing when playing with them. Donna is a carefree and very empathetic playful girl, fun always starts with the imagination! She also loves roleplaying games, mainly playing “Heros” where she acts as a superhero and fights crime! 

She also has 1 little brother who at times gets curious about her belongings, this annoys her!

Adjustments: a very subtle country accent, not that noticeable. Playful tone

Side Character 

Sonjo || Prince (Trick Moon): Max Mittelman

A seemingly cowardly voice in the wrong body, Sonjo has a moderately masculine voice that can come off as charming.


Sonjo is generally a charming guy. He can be quiet but opens up depending on how he feels about you. he has the ability to shapeshift to anyone or anything he touches, thus inheriting their powers and looks to some extent. Sonjo loves ramen and has a very free spirit of empathy and justice.

  • Right.. Right.. But what about the others? They can't just live without their families Parah.

MAIN ANTAGONIST


King Kaiser || Winston Zeddemore (Ghostbusters 1984)

Adjustments: it’s way more boisterous and a bit more of a gravelly deep texture to the voice. 

He sounds overconfident and has a malicious tone of voice, with a loud and proud laugh that anyone could recognize


King Kaiser has a loud and proud personality that beams in contrasts to anyone else’s. He’s loud, and has a very odd complex of playing “God”. Once he received powers from Parah, listening to Parah speak made him happy at first. But then when he offered his help to extensive and controlling levels, it was clear that he was jealous of her. In fact he wanted to have her power! Become the new god of that world! Why does she have control? “I could make it better!” From then on, he used that jealousy and malice to become the new creator of planet Iris, and defying Natures way. King Kaiser has strong opinions and is extremely knowledgeable with technology 

  • (said in a deep malicious tone) Well.. Looks like we got ourselves a plan.

Adjustments: submissive but slightly direct with words. Has a motherly tone and a bit of a southern accent. 

Pitch: moderately a bit on the high side.


Donna’s Mother 

A sweet mother with concern for her family, she may be too kind and indirect but she is very levelheaded and logical.

ANTAGONIST (Not in pilot)


Llin || Wirt (Over the Garden Wall) [Video Demonstration]

Adjustments: has a bit of a shaky soft-spoken voice, but can be as direct as Wirt’s voice. Other than that, this is 100% accurate.


Llin is a very timid but direct person. He has an extremely high intellect when it comes to various subjects of science like: Astronomy (big astronomy nerd), Biology, Robotics, Zoology, Chemistry, a bit of Computer Science, and Pharmacology. Despite all of his knowledge, he tends to be very forgetful. You could tell him about an event one day and the next, when you mention you're going to an event its like the first time he’s heard it, and he hates surprises. His memories have always been troubled since childhood but they never knew why it seemed so randomized. Like chunks of gaps being taken from his memory. Besides that he’s very sarcastic and tends to be very VERY socially awkward and extremely anxious.

  • “I’ve been very forgetful most of my life, and I think that I’m not actually me.”

  • “Are you kidding? I-I would have been dead by now, heh heh…”

ANTAGONIST (Not in pilot)


Elana || Mix of Junko Enoshima and Miu Iruma, a bit more of Miu Iruma (Danganronpa)

Adjustments: Elana can use multiple ranges of voices, depending on what emotions she wants to playfully mask. But her natural voice is more so as soothing as Junko’s voice, and her pitch sounds in the medium range. Not as high as Miu Iruma, but can't get as low as Junko Enoshima’s either. Elana’s way of speaking is more energetic like Miu Iruma compared to Junko 


“Well honestly everything is an empty shell”, Elana was essentially born differently. As she felt little to no empathetic or sympathetic emotions. She can be very ambiverted, while only loving to be around others just to build their trust and see what happens if she admits how little she cares about them. Everything always proves a point to her mindset. That the world is stupid and rotten, and needs a pretty makeover, toying with peoples morals, religions, and mental well-being has no mental affect on her morals. Because their all just brainless ants.

Because of her extremely hard times feeling emotions, acting was her entire life. Thus, when she's around people, she puts on this cartoonish, careless character. And these personalities she acts on can change variously. As a kid there used to be a want to be normal, to feel the same sensation. The only feelings of sensations she got were from physically harming peopl..........


  • “How are people from Yumerka so goofy, yet so powerful? This is just rich!”

  • *Elana giggles.* “Dear sister… it’s too bad our brother is such a fuck over… I mean you too…”
