Project Overview
- What is this?
Legend Of Zelda: Whims of Fate is a Zelda fan game created in RPG Maker MZ. The project was initially created for Inspire Jam, a game jam where I was tasked with creating something new from an already established product. I decided to make a Legend Of Zelda RPG because I think it could be cool to see these mechanics repurposed in a traditional JRPG format.
For those of you unfamiliar with the Legend Of Zelda:
The Legend of Zelda is a high fantasy action-adventure video game franchise created by Japanese game designers Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka. It is primarily developed and published by Nintendo, although some portable installments and re-releases have been outsourced to Capcom, Vanpool, and Grezzo. The gameplay incorporates action adventure and elements of action RPG games.
The series centers on the various incarnations of Link, a courageous young Hylian man, with pointy, elf-like ears; and Princess Zelda, a magical princess that is the mortal reincarnation of the goddess Hylia; as they fight to save the magical land of Hyrule from Ganon, an evil warlord turned demon king, who is the principal antagonist of the series. Ganon wishes to use the Triforce, a sacred relic left behind by the three goddesses that created Hyrule to remake the world in his own dark image. When gathered together, the power of the Triforce can grant any wish its user desires; however, if someone with a heart that does not possess a balance of the three virtues of Power, Courage, and Wisdom attempts to touch the Triforce, it will split into three triangles and bond with three people whose hearts embody the required virtue.
Requirements:Please ensure that your microphone is capable of recording your performance without picking up overwhelming background noises or excessive peaking/clipping. If you cannot commit to the needs of a given role please do not audition as I cannot expect to select someone who cannot give the performance a role requires.
A few final notes:1.)This is a purely for fun project so don't stress yourself out too much. More roles will be added as development continues, I am trying to gauge interest.
2.) Anything in brackets [ ] down below is NOT to be read when you're auditioning for various parts- this text exists solely to give context to the lines you will be reading.
3.) Discord is not required, but it is recommended as we utilize it to organize group rehearsals, deliver announcements, and distribute scripts (it's also been an incredibly useful tool for getting to know the people affiliated with the project and we've had a fair bit of fun with it).
4.) PLEASE DO NOT SLATE YOUR AUDITIONSAnd that's it- if more questions come up I may append a F.A.Q to this section to try and resolve any recurring questions for those reading through this project in the future.
5.) If you're curious about the project it is currently playable over at itch.io. It's not required to play it but some of you might want to check it out before auditioning.
6.) You are free to audition for as many roles as you want.

Anaïs is an alcoholic woman who has lost all faith in the royal family. She has no respect for Zelda or Link and is very rude to them both. She lost her family in the initial invasion of Ganondorf and resents the Hylian Knights for not being able to protect her or her family.

Alix is the young girl who completely idolizes the royal family and the Hylian Knights. Her father went off to help fight Ganondorf and she completely idolizes him and the idea of fighting to protect people.
Mama did you ask them to come here!? It's not even my birthday! [ You were surprised by your hero, be excited! :D]
Did you hear that mama!? Hmph, I'm going to be the best Hylian Knight when I get big and strong just like daddy!
Bethany is the mother of a little girl named Alix and she waits alone in her village of Millstone for her husband to return from fighting Ganondorf. However, her husband has been dead for quite some time and she's trying her best to keep it together.
Did you know my husband? His name is Darik [pronounced like Derek], and he's currently stationed at Hyrule Castle.
If you two run into a Hylian Knight with blonde hair and a big stupid grin on his face. Tell him his wife misses him.
Gale is the eldest of two brothers. He lives in poverty with his younger brother Morgan who is sick.
Excuse my brother...he's sick, ya see.
I'm not sure what happened. It started a few weeks ago, and one day he just...fell asleep.
Bernie is an anxious shopkeep who is a little bit too self-aware.

Marie has Dissociative Identity Disorder so some of her lines will be from the perspective of her other personalities. So for this audition, I want you to have fun with it! Do a different voice for each line.

I could not risk him getting his hands on the
