Project Overview
PLOT SYNOPSIS:
After an ancient threat awakens from a deep slumber and threatens the entire galaxy, Willow, alongside her old friends and a long-retired adventurer, sets out to stop it.
PROJECT OVERVIEW:
Last Light is going to be a comic series created by Jaydin Roberts and Blaire Harbak. It's an emotional, character-driven sci-fi adventure with heart, action, and high stakes. We're currently hashing out bits of the story and constantly adding to the team. We plan to produce official comic dubs alongside new issues, and we would like your help! Our main characters need casting, and we would like to experiment with new voices to really get a better grasp on the characters even further.

VOICE AUDITION DETAILS:
We would like you to read each of the sample lines at least 3-4 different times, doing different takes on each one. We want to see how much range and emotion you can put into a role since there are a lot of emotional moments that need to be executed well. We have brief descriptions of each character, some of the developments they'll go through, and the types of voices we're looking for. Please take it all into account! Please also list your current equipment you use and specify if you do post-production on your voice in this audition. List your Discord username, or the best way to contact you, in case we approach you for the part too. We prefer Discord, but can easily adapt. We would also like your age since we don't want to work with anyone under 18+.

FAQ (answered by Jaydin Roberts):
"What is this project rated?"
The characters will swear and we tackle some emotional themes and aren't afraid to show tiny bits gore. So by conventional standards an "R-rating" but I would say this series is primarily aimed at young adults/late teens and I would personally say it leans closer to like "PG-13" or something like that.
"How old do I have to be to audition or work?"
18+ strictly.
"How long until this project is done?"
A long time to be honest. We all still balance our personal lives on top of doing this comic. We're about a year into development, and it could take much longer to get everything fully done. So the short answer, TBD.
"How much of the comic is done?"
We're still technically in pre-production. I have the entire story planned out in my head and know everything that's going to happen, but only about 50% of it is solidly written down. I have a weird approach to writing...
"What's the budget?"
Basically nothing. I have commissioned a couple of artists to do offhand random work, but everyone on the main team does this out of passion, blood, sweat, and lots of tears...

Excitable and nerdy, but has moments to be comforting to other characters. There's this innocence that's incredibly important to maintain. The goal is to make it so readers and viewers feel bad for her when something tragic happens or she starts feeling sad. She can feel immense sadness and anxiety due to the pressures of saving the world, or if she's doing right by her parents. It's dynamic and can be both cartoony and grounded depending on the situation.

Willow is a young, excitable soul with an optimistic outlook on life. She's adventurous and can sometimes be a little too energetic, but she lives by the ideals her parents taught her. She can be a voice of reason and comfort to those going through hard times, but this doesn't mean she doesn't struggle herself and doesn't get anxious or sorrowful. Sometimes the pressure of this adventure can get to her. She will easily have the most dialogue in this long story, being the main character.

Willow has just embarked on her adventure. She is talking to her parents, who passed away a while ago, for comfort.

Willow comforts a theatre director who is putting on his last show, as the galaxy's end seems near.

Willow is a little too excited that she can order pancakes at a diner and lets her inner child out.

Sarcastic but grounded and natural. He's the character with the most emotional backstory, using jokes and humor to cope with his tragic upbringing. He is deeply scarred and can find himself getting angry because he's always in self-defense mode. He expresses the widest range of emotions and easily has the most trauma of the main cast. Parts of him are cartoony, but he is definitely more grounded to reality due to his backstory.

Leo is a troubled individual, but he will find any opportunity he can to cheer himself up, usually at the expense of others. He closes himself off and pushes people away, but it's because of the self-hatred and loss he has previously experienced that made him the way he is. Despite that, he's not edgy or trying to be a main character; he's just a troubled guy dealing with a turbulent past. He ultimately does make an effort to protect the others as well, so he does care for them even though he pretends not to.

CONTEXT 1
Leo is getting annoyed after being lectured to try and be nicer
CONTEXT 2
Leo is breaking down and losing control. Someone touches a nerve, and he goes into self-defense mode. A mix of anger and sadness. He realizes what he's doing by the end of this freakout, and is about to apologize before ultimately telling them to forget he accidentally opened up.
CONTEXT 3
In this line, Leo is simply being annoying because it's funny

Grumpy, but sympathetic, she often gets annoyed at the antics of other characters or is confused by the optimism of others. She's heavily grounded in her love for Willow as a friend, and the bond she shares with her sister Fantasia, though strained and argumentative, stays connected due to their fondness for Willow.

FeeFee is Fantasia's older and more mature sister. She is part of the main crew that agrees to go on the galaxy-trotting adventure with Willow and support her. She's not the most experienced, but she'll stick by Willow's side no matter what.

Willow has given a pep talk to the crew after they've just embarked on their adventure. FeeFee tries to add supporting words, and, against her will, she acknowledges that Leo is part of the team.

FeeFee is somberly talking to Fantasia, trying to be on good terms so they can be there for Willow.

Fantasia is FeeFee's younger sister and comes along as part of the main crew because she loves Willow. She isn't the bravest and can oftentimes be cowardly, but she's charming and ultimately means the best. She argues with her sister a lot and maybe cares too much about her looks, but these are simply flaws of a sympathetic character overall.
