Project Overview

A cozy adventure game with Hanafuda Koi-Koi card battles and Tamagotchi-like pet raising! Embody Kintaro, Japan's Golden Boy, as he helps save and protect the animals and spirits of Mount Ashigara. This game will use an anime-esque art style inspired by Akira Toriyama.

  • First Wave of Casting

    Hello everybody! It is my pleasure to announce that I have completed the first round of casting! I was so excited to see this project so well-received and with so many auditions! Know that I listened to every audition carefully before making my decisions. These roles are set as long as the assigned voice actors accept them.

    I hope to meet with each of you over the next week and schedule some time to do a group meeting/table read over Discord. I will be reaching out to everyone involved in the project, but if you don't hear from me, please reach out! This project is keeping me very busy across the board, as I had hoped!

Yamabiko is a mischievous trickster yokai that can imitate almost any sound and confuses mountain travelers.  He is close friends with the Kodama tree spirit and helps do his bidding.

A devilish god of storms with red skin and horns.  Raijin plays his drums to cause the thunder.  Raijn may be Kintaro's father, but he is ambivalent to Kintaro himself. He sends storms that ravage Mount Ashigara, Kintaro, and Yama Uba's home.  Boisterous, loud, powerful, and proud, with a bit of a sense of humor.

  • Who is this foolish red warrior who thinks he can defy a god?

  • Impertinent child! Who do you think you owe for your strength? Rough seas make strong sailors, after all.

  • You are a fool, boy, and you always have been. That is why I have cursed the skies above Ashigara. And you are still a fool if you think you can defeat me.
