Project Overview

Hello there you wonderful people! I'm wanting to do an English fandub of a few consecutive scenes from the anime movie Kaze to ki no Uta.


*A QUICK WARNING THOUGH* This movie contains some controversial subjects as well as scenes (which we won't be doing any scene that is too bad, and I have changed some things around to be more "friendly") so keep that in mind. Also, yes, this is technically a shounen ai/ yaoi, however none of the roles that are open are actually active in that sort of thing. Basically the genre might be yaoi, but the main characters who are actually "romantically" involved are already filled, so no need to worry (maybe?). Just make sure you're comfortable with being a part of this. Thanks~

Anyways, a quick summary of the anime:
Serge is the son of a French viscount and a Roma woman, attending the Laconblade Academy near Arles at the request of his late father. Upon arrival at the school, he finds himself roomed with Gilbert, who is reviled by the school's pupils and professors for skipping classes and engaging in relations with older male students. Serge's efforts to befriend his roommate - and Gilbert's efforts to drive off and seduce the young aristocrat, in response - soon form a complicated and disruptive connection between the two.

Pascal is very smart, but can be a bit of a know it all, so I’m  looking for a nerdy, maybe slightly raspy, yet somewhat mature voice, slightly obnoxious, but bossy a bit.

Carl is kind, wise, and a natural leader, his voice should show this with clear tone, medium pitch, and seriousness, with hints of hesitation. He's got an almost formal way of speaking.

For Professor Watts, I’m looking for a slightly deeper older man’s voice authoritative and wise. I’m looking for something smooth and slightly bellowy, if you know what I mean? This can also be a bit gruff too, but not too much. Try to sound a bit proper and fatherly maybe?

  • My goodness! What’s all this noise they’re making? (Irritated, “this is the last straw” sort of feel, parently, slightly dissapointed?)

For upperclassmen, I’m looking for slightly more mature young male voices, either proper or obnoxious, both would be great though. They can be anywhere from slightly lower pitched to medium pitch, maybe even higher for a male register, you have a bit of creative freedom.

There are many young students in Laconblade and their voices should be relatively childish and higher pitched, but still sound like young boys. They should sound adolescent and  slightly immature. Other than that you're just trying to be a kid, so... yeah~
