Jax, the "funny one".

He's a 22 year old guy with a past he refuses to share due to being incredibly emotionally insecure. The mask that Jax puts on is one of an asshole. He beats people up, abuses them, and claims to not care about anyone's feelings and simply does what is funny to him. He claims to be manipulative, calculating, and awful. He loves violence and anything that allows him to be the worst to anyone around him. However, inside? He's a guy who simply wants to be able to be chill, funny, and just... himself around. Due to losing friends, and probably more, he's terrified of being seen. He does everything he can to pretend he doesn't care about others, because in reality, he does. Deeply. He wants friendship, he wants to be without the mask, but he's afraid to. So he keeps it on. He's cynical, and he's flawed.

By episode 2, Jax is just an asshole. He's rude, manipulative, but he also does have a side that shows that he hates showing human emotions (in fact, that's why he doesn't show up to the funeral in the first place. As a side note, it's also stated that Jax was good friends with Kaufmo, but that something likely happened between them.)

Of course, since the audition lines are from across the series, be prepared to show some emotion, but Jax's voice should be very snarky, rude, and with a little bit of sleaze. Not too much though, as his tone does fluctuate depending on how he feels. You can base it off of Michael Kovach's Jax, or try your own spin on the character!
