Excitable, daring, and brave

  • Growing up certainly isn’t easy, more so when your father has blamed you your whole life for his wife’s death. Needless to say, I wasn’t off to a good start. Luckily for me, my father and I didn’t cross paths often. If he wasn’t working, he was off drinking. For me, most of my time was spent in school or out in the woods with my brother, who was more of a father to me than my actual dad to be honest. Most of the best moments in my life were spent with him. We kept each other safe and away from our father’s drunken rage, but fortunately enough for Barry he still had my dad’s favor. They’d go on hunting trips together over the weekends, “man’s work” as my dad called it. I’d be left behind to take care of the household chores, I didn’t mind having the house all to myself however. When we did cross paths, it was mostly glares and orders like “get me a beer” or “leave me alone.” I could actually count the amount of compliments he’s given me all 14 years of my life. Zero.

  • Hi! I… wow, you’re so much hotter in person, our history textbooks don’t do you justice. Neither did that Steven Grant movie. Wait, did I say that out loud? I uh… you can just pretend I don’t exist now.

  • Wait, hang on, did you say time machine?! That’s so cool! Well, it would be if it weren’t, ya know, being used by Nazis. What’s the plan?
