Project Overview
This fan-made manga fandub project is dedicated to adapting key chapters of Kaiju No. 8 into a fully voiced, cinematic reading experience. By combining expressive voice acting, detailed sound design, and carefully timed panel transitions, the project aims to capture the intensity, humor, and emotional depth that define the original series.
The goal is to stay faithful to the manga while enhancing it through audio-driven storytelling. Each scene is crafted with attention to pacing, character portrayal, and atmosphere, ensuring that the fandub feels immersive and respectful to the source material.
With a passionate cast and a focus on clear, polished production quality, this project seeks to bring the world of Kaiju No. 8 to life for both longtime fans and new audiences discovering the series for the first time.

Reno is a tall, slender young man with short silver hair and big violet eyes. He usually shows a neutral unfazed look on his face, but this expression usually changes to exasperation or incredulity when around Kafka.
Reno is a calm and collected person. Despite initially antagonizing Kafka for giving up on his dream, he later shows a softer and more caring side towards his friend and his condition and goals. As their bond grows, Reno begins to show his protective side, not only towards Kafka but towards any of his comrades. His resolve in fighting in order to protect his peers brings him to completely ignore Iharu Furuhashi's one-sided rivalrly towards him and still put his safety first.
In battle, Reno is a determined and straightforward person, being a natural thinker on his own. Due to his immense sense of resposibility towards his colleagues and his desire in becoming stronger, an extended usage of his Numbers Weapon can bring Reno to spiral out of control and push himself past his limits in order to be strong enough to save those around him.

Kikoru is a petite and fairly short young girl with long blonde hair that is tied in twintails on the sides, decorated with two black bows, big green eyes and she possesses a rather skinny yet athletic physique. Considering her overall appearance and her hair, she resembles her mother Hikaru Shinomiya very much.
Kikoru appears as an arrogant and prideful girl who is very confident in her ability to look down on people and humiliate those she deems inferior without a second thought. Kikoru is also a very persistent and determined person, working hard to constantly improve herself and becoming stronger and more useful whenever she can. Even towards superior officers, she still manages to show her confidence, although in a much more polite and less arrogant way.
Despite this more evident trait, Kikoru deep down cares about her comrades and does whatever in her power to avoid casualties or injuries whenever she's on the battlefield. She is also a loyal person, showing gratitude towards Kafka Hibino for saving her, and keeping his secret. Even if it's hidden by her proud and unafraid nature, she cares for her allies well-being and goes as far as needed to ensure their safety or simply to support them.

Mina Ashiro is the captain of the Third Division of the Defense Force and the childhood friend of Kafka Hibino.
Mina is a serious and determined woman who takes her work and role in the Defense Force very seriously and she strives to uphold the promise made as a child to defeat every kaiju to the point that she dedicates all of herself to kaiju fighting. Despite her professional behavior, she has a soft spot for Kafka Hibino: although she was upset with him for not keeping his promise to stand at her side, she remembers their friendship fondly and wishes to see him succeed in the Defense Force, even after learning he was Kaiju No. 8.
Under her tough exterior, Mina shows her authentic self as a caring person who does her best to make sure nobody gets injured in a fight and keep everyone safe. She is also prone to showing gratitude to her subordinates, praising people for their help whenever possible and being able to acknowledge someone's worth. However, these traits also contribute to a deep seated fear of failure within her. In her mind, any mistake would invalidate the sacrifices of her comrades and violate the trust civilians have in her. Although unhealthy, this mindset is also what drives her to perform as well as she does in battle.
Despite being highly adept on the battlefield, Mina has the infamous reputation of a catastrophically bad cook. By her own admission, she is incapable of using any knives for cooking without the threat of collateral harm for her squadmates. As such, she refrains from their usage to the point she had whole vegetables for curry without dicing.

Soshiro is an athletic young man of average height with a small yet muscular build and dark violet short hair in a bob cut style. His red eyes (purple in the anime) are closed most of the time and he always has a jovial expression on his face, except when serious scenarios made him display an imposing expression with his eyes opened. He also has snaggletooth fangs that appear when he speaks or laughs.
Soshiro is rather laid-back, always having a smile on his face; it is very rare to see him downtrodden. He seems to enjoy making fun of others, especially Kafka Hibino considering him a comic relief. However, he does have some serious moments when he speaks firmly and open his eyes to emphasize the seriousness of his words. Soshiro also likes to tease captain Gen Narumi from the First Division. Despite Soshiro's relaxed and friendly appearance, he is very intelligent and intuitive. He was the only one who correctly suspected Kafka's identity as Kaiju No. 8, thus one of the main reasons he accepted him in the Third Division despite failing the exam was to keep an eye on him.
Soshiro has a great, yet hidden, sense of loyalty towards the Defense Force and feels very thankful towards his captain Mina Ashiro for letting him into her division. His sense of loyalty to his role in the force is so strong that he deep down sees it as his only reason to live. Soshiro is also very thankful as seen when he talked to Kafka two months after he proved to be Kaiju No. 8 and thanked him for saving his life and those of his subordinates showing to hold no grudge towards him.

Iharu is a tall athletic-looking young man with messy pink hair shaved on the side, orange eyes and sharp teeth.
Iharu is an hot-blooded and proud individual who doesn't like to be inferior to other people or losing, and constantly tries to improve more than those he deems stronger than him. For this reason, he targeted RenoIchikawa, bragging with him whenever he has the chance to do so. Iharu is described as an headstrong character who brightens up every environment he's in.
Despite his apparently confident attitude, Iharu hides a big inferiority complex towards his peers, mostly due to his past life of success which he now compares to his current life in the Defense Force, where most of his collegues improve faster than him. As a matter of fact, when pushed into difficult and life-threatening situations, Iharu displays a more fragile and insecure side, being aware of his own weaknesses and even admiring someone stronger than him like Leno himself. Deep down, he values his own team and teammates more than he would admit. Nevertheless, he's shown to be determined and very stubborn, refusing to give up and facing evey wall in his path to improve himself.

Aoi Kaguragi is a young member of the Third Division of the Defense Force. After the destruction of Tachikawa Base, he was temporarily transferred to the Second Division before coming back to the Third Division.
Aoi has a very serious demeanor, always doing his best to be on top and better than his peers and doing what he must to grow stronger and surpassing others. Despite his sometimes cold character, he hides a lot more of his emotions then he lets out. As a matter of fact, due to his proud personality, he shares a rivalry with Haruichi Izumo, another very capable trainee.

Haruichi is a tall young man with medium-length dark sea-green hair that is tied in a half bun while leaving the rest of his hair down, big dark-blue eyes with thin eyebrows and he usually sports a relaxed expression on his face.
Haruichi is usually a relaxed boy with a observant and cunning personality. Due to this, Haruichi tends to be more level-headed than his peers and prefers to watch the others be rowdy from the sidelines, rather than being mixed in the chaos himself. He always measures himself with those who do better than him and does whatever he can to surpass them, bringing this to a secret one-sided rivalry with Kikoru Shinomiya and an open rivalry with Aoi Kaguragi.

Gen is a tall, athletic young man with a lean yet muscular build. His hair is naturally all black, but he dyed the front section of his hair grey to give it a two-toned color. This allows him to switch his hairstyle between a black bob with hints of grey (generally when he is off-duty) and slicked back, revealing the majority of his grey hair (mostly during combat). He also has sharp, red eyes and his eyebrows are very short and thick.
Despite showing an apparent serious demeanor, Gen hides a lazy and childish personality, overreacting when slightly annoyed by something. His unprofessional demeanor brings him to give priorities to futile things over work like his video games and action figures, or his followers on social media.
Nevertheless, once he arrives on the battlefield, Gen's attitude changes radically, becoming very serious and dedicated to his work as captain of his own division, giving specific orders to his subordinates.

Kaiju No. 9 is the main antagonist of the Kaiju No. 8 manga and anime. As one of the numbered kaiju, he first appears at a Defense Force testing site, where he brings other defeated kaiju back to life. From that moment on, he becomes a persistent danger, orchestrating assaults, resurrecting more monsters, and pursuing greater strength to challenge the Defense Force.
Kaiju No. 9 initially had a gaunt appearance, being a tall, thin kaiju with a set of jagged teeth exposed. His head appears to have a set of two protuberances stacked onto each other. Underneath his head are small, sunken eyes that are not visible sometime. Because of his shapeshifting abilities, he is able to replicate the appearances of his consumed victims.
Kaiju No. 9 presents himself as calm and composed, yet beneath that exterior lies a ruthless and destructive nature. His true goals remain shrouded in mystery, but his actions make it clear that he harbors a strong desire to bring down the Defense Force and cause widespread devastation. Upon discovering Kafka Hibino's transformation into Kaiju No. 8, he becomes fixated on acquiring that same power.

Kaiju No. 10 is an Identified Kaiju who attacked Tachikawa Base. It was created by Kaiju No. 9, and is considered a "prototype". It was then weaponized into Numbers Weapon 10, currently used by Third Division Vice-Captain Soshiro Hoshina.
In the manga, Kaiju No. 10 was a very tall and muscular humanoid kaiju, with a crimson-colored carapace, dull spikes on the back, and a long spiky tail. It had an elongated cranium with a sharp horn on the front and a cross-like cavity on the face, with multiple teeth around, connected to its upper jaw. Its mouth was large with two rows of teeth, sharp on the more external row and squared in the internal row. Inside its mouth, he had one circular blue eye placed, visible from the cross-like cavity on its face
Kaiju No. 10 is a ruthless and intimidating individual, driven to the utmost to accomplish its missions. He also seems to be quite confident, being a proud leader of a pack of kaiju and challenging the strongest member of the Defense Force he could find.

Isao is a very authoritative and serious man, being also very demanding towards his subordinates and his daughter Kikoru Shinomiya. As the Director General of the Defense Force who has served many years in it’s ranks, he is a far-sighted man who gave his orders firmly in sight of future threats and is also not above using living Kaiju as weapons to empower the Defense Force
Isao's strong romantic relationship with his wife Hikari Shinomiya brought him to be very affected by her death and ever since then, he became cold and distant with Kikoru, demanding her to become the "perfect soldier" so that she wouldn't suffer the same fate as her mother. His strictness wasn't limited to just his family alone as he acted the same way with his subordinates and his former student Gen Narumi.
However, despite his apparent cold and serious behavior, Isao showed a more caring side when he remembered Kikoru's words about Kafka Hibino and when he personally informed the latter about his decision to keep him alive, going against his high-ranked colleagues to give Kafka a chance to prove himself to them. Until the end, his only concern was the sake of the next generations, fighting for it with all of his might to ensure a safer future to those after him, to the point of being willing to sacrifice himself like his wife did.

Konomi is a determined and professional person. She doesn't seem to approve of Soshiro's unprofessional remarks and blurts of laughter, caring deeply for him and for everyone else when they are in danger. In return, she's held in high regard by Soshiro.
While working, Konomi displays a professional and serious behavior, quickly getting a grasp of the current situation to offer support to her comrades. She also displayed remarkable levels of intuition and analytical skills.

Tae is a tall young woman with an athletic slender physique. She has long pink hair styled in a short messy ponytail and with two long tufts on the side of her head. She has big pink eyes with small pointy eyebrows and a pointy nose.
Tae seems to be some kind of "man-eater", praising the newbies in the platoon not only for their fighting ability but also for their looks.

Rin is a short, beautiful young woman of a slim build, sporting medium length black hair with dyed cyan ends that reach her neck, with bangs on the left side of her face. She has big cyan eyes and sharp eyebrows, usually with a serious unfazed look on her face. Before being promoted to Platoon Leader, her hair used to be totally black.
Rin is a serious woman who follows Captain Gen Narumi's order without question, despite letting her guard down sometimes. She is a calm individual who faces things correctly, still managing to have fun while doing so. Rin also seem to take a liking in brave people. Her brave and rigid behavior, however, is sometimes a shield to hide her deep emotions of joy and excitement. She also seems to secretly cultivate her physical appearance and beauty, believing herself to be extremely pretty and taking great pride in her gorgeous looks.
Behind her strong and menacing demeanor, Rin hides a huge admiration for Gen Narumi's strength, feeling these emotions ever since her first battle with him in the First Division. During the years, the desire to be acknowledged by him brought Rin to strive to become stronger and more beautiful, just to impress Narumi. To this day, she holds dear the memory of when Gen promoted her to Platoon Leader, and still struggles prove her worth and follow Gen's footsteps. In fact, Rin's hidden closeness and deep link to her division comrades even pushes her to fight with her life on the line to fulfill her duty.

Ryo is a man of average height with messy short dark red hair and a lightning-shaped notch in the middle of his forehead. He has big and wild red eyes with thin zigzagged eyebrows.
Ryo is an enthusiastic person with a big sense of resposibility. He appears as a serious person, who sometimes gets quite loud. He is able to acknowledge someone's skills and support in battle and praising them when needed. Ryo is such a reliable person that sometimes Vice-Captain Hoshina trusts him with general command tasks over the Division.
Ryo seems to have a rivarly with First Division Platoon Leader Tachibana.
