Beyond the Fog as of right now is an indie passion project! I’m looking for assistance with Episode one, or.. technically the pilot!
I’ve been working on this project for about 3 years now on my own, a podcast inspired by the likes of The Magnus Archives, Local 58, Home Safety Hotline, and Killer Frequency. It’s a horror mystery podcast based off of fae/supernatural horror, and I’d love nothing more than for people in the community to be a part of it!
As of right now, I don’t have the funds to be able to pay for professional voice acting.. nor do I necessarily need professionals! Beginner voice actors are welcome, or people simply doing it for the sake of hobby! I hope to be able to get to a point where I am able to pay the people working on this alongside me, but until then please consider adding this horror podcast to one of your own passion projects!
I know I know, but Mary, you haven’t even finished the first! I know.. but, would you all prefer if I created a separate project for episode two voices actors, or add it here? It’ll only be an additional one voice, so I’m thinking here… but I’d like input! In other news, please give me your discord if you’ve auditioned! I’m finalizing voice actors soon :)
It’s taken a while, but I’ve finished the first episodes script (yay!) I’m giving myself until February to decide on VAs (just incase I need more changes) but I wanted to say everyone who’s auditioned so far has done an amazing job! It’s so hard picking between such talented people. Honestly, should everyone be okay with it, I’d love to give everyone a part- even if it’s not the character you initially auditioned for, or in a different episode! Thank you all for your interest in my project, it means the world to me. Till February!
Fritz is a nervous sounding young man. Hes a people pleaser, skittish, and generally aiming to help others before he helps himself. A clumsy guy with two left feet, he serves the role of side character in episode one of ITF. Should this become a larger scale project with paid voice actors, someone with his role could be expected to speak a good amount of times per every few episodes. Besides that, he’s good hearted, excitable when in pleasant company, and has an odd sense of humour.
Sorry- did I say sorry already? Well, I’m sorry regardless! Didn’t notice where I was going, too stressed out cause the hosts still not here and… god, we’re already in shambles and we aren’t even on air!

May Argentine is the main character of the first episode, with the most speaking lines. She is a kind and gentle sounding woman with hints of sarcasm and tiredness, the embodiment of an overworked service worker. She has a middle ranged to higher pitched voice. Should this become a fully fledged podcast, someone playing May should expect to voice in nearly every episode due to how major her role is.
First day on the job.. already spilled several dollars worth of coffee… I can kiss that paycheque goodbye.

An uncomfortable male-androgynous voice. Soft, creepy, and slow. Rainer is a character that reoccurs two or three times in the podcast. Episode one next to May he has the most speaking lines. You’re on the edge of being the horror and being scared of the horror. Best way I can put it.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone so perfect in my entire life. A face of smooth porcelain, a smile that you’d see on posters. (a sarcastic laugh) well.. Missing posters, maybe.

Anyone can audition! BTF is going to need at least one new person per episode to read the lines of the person calling the radio station to give their spooky story.

The main character! He’s excitable, nerdy, overly energetic and a bit too deep in the conspiracy rabbit hole. He runs Dead Quiet, the radio show in Fogdown after having lost his best friend to mysterious circumstances in the past. He’ll be in about every episode, when I think of his voice I think the lead singer from placebo. Or N from murder drones.
You know! My box full of the last remaining memories of my childhood best friend! The only evidence I have that he exists? The stuff I need to clear to figure out where he went?
Oh, cheer up! Then you’ll have- like.. really good smell! Like a dog! Y’know, if you were a dog you’d be aaaa… Nova Scotia duck tolling retriever!
How wouldn’t I? You always have to have at least three dog breeds memorized, and they always correspond to your friends!
For a future episode. Matthanew is.. well, a sentient computer. In the universe of Fogdown there are creatures known as Machinations, inanimate objects given sentient life. These objects can attach other objects to themselves to make themselves larger, and Matt just so happened to learn that he can attach corpses to himself to give himself a human body. A character featuring in about two or three episodes. Creepily energetic and enthusiastic.

One of the main antagonists, Melly is a creature from … ooh… ooooohh.. beyond the fog who’s been banished to the human realm. Daughter of the mayor and a scientist, she’s been experimenting with ways she can force entry back into her original world. Sounds very much like pinkie pie from MLP, will be seen in future episodes.
