Project Overview
Project summary
Inelegance is a project of mine that follows the story of five ridiculous little robot things called protos (yes, inspired by and directly linked to protogens. This project is in no way endorsed by or a part of protogen lore or story). This project aims to explore how funny, goofy, nonhuman things approach inconveniences and challenges, how does redemption work, can everyone be redeemed, and what, and who, is evil? Throughout the story (should it get beyond a pilot phase), events will slowly become more “real”, with more risk, and more depth, and the characters will have to adapt and change their ways.
Right now I have absolutely no skill in animation, only minimal skills in digital art, and I don't want to make this project alone.
This isn't meant to be for kids, but not NSFW, as it will likely contain violence and the occassional swear word. This is also why you have to be 15 or older to audition (if you disagree, fight me in the comments), if you're under that bar, sorry, your time is appreciated, but please don't work on this project.
Project goals
Right now I'm going to aim for, at minimum, making a pilot episode for this. If it picks up any steam, then maybe people can get paid, but right now I don't really have income to spend on this project.
Characters
Proto (Pr010) Proto is a rather generic proto, as is suggested by his name. He is more of a serious guy, and fluent in the language of sarcasm. Over time he has lost his cool and has developed a shorter temper, especially when being referred to as generic. He has also developed a small hatred towards himself and HexRau Corp. His abilities consist of breaking the 4th wall, which tends to be more hindering than helpful, as he often runs into and hits the camera. He is also the only proto of the five to be able to display images and videos on his visor.
Amid (AM8D) Amid has a monotone greyscale coloration and is perhaps the most serious of the bunch. He is quick to anger, but tries to be strategic and collected. He has a secret soft spot for literally everything, but only really shows it when there are cats around. He wears a metal bucket over one of his ears, supposedly having a traumatic and horrifying injury there (he always wears his bucket, even in the shower and while sleeping). He is the demoman of the group, knowing a suspicious lot about explosives.
Rick (R10CK, also referred to as Rock or Riot) He is almost as small as Bean. Rick is the gardener and chef, although he is terrible at the latter, and a little clumsy at the former. He considers himself a brother to Amid, and mirrors his fashion by wearing a ceramic pot over one of his ears (the ear in question being partially deaf anyway). He hyper fixates on things, but tries to be positive despite the well of self doubt gnawing at him. He is mostly lenient with most things, but is very rigid in how he maintains his garden. He is the only proto in the group with a criminal record, shoplifting ceramic pots from garden centers. He has skill in driving, but only when going fast, which is why the only time he drives is when the group needs a fast getaway.
Kate (K8-1689) She is the only female of the group, and is by far the most energetic. She is an engineer, and by far the nerdiest of the group. She is a weapons engineer, and has been since her days at HexRau Corp, which is a sensitive topic for her. She enjoys privacy and building technology. She is the only proto of the group to know how to modify her own and other technological parts. She is the most proficient person in the group with weapons, although she doesn’t like it.
Bean (DE8R-G0D-HE1P) Bean is the most “innocent” of the protos. Supposedly. They faced the most adversity and abuse in HexRau Corp, now completely obsessed with revenge in most cases. They are an older model, and has somehow purged the need to update his software, the result of which being that they can only speak through “YIP”s, “YAP”s, “EEP”s, “MEEP”s, and “MERP”s. Despite all of what runs through his tiny little head, he cares for his friends, and wouldn’t endanger them intentionally.
HexRau Corp Not necessarily an individual character, but an organization. These were the people who invented and experimented with protos, intending for them to be a replacement for most engineers in their company. Protos were dismissed due to “ethical concerns” with “worker exploitation”, and allowed to be free in the world under occasional surveillance.

This role is for coming up with plot ideas when I’m unable to, and to be able to write in a professional format (just anything that could be understood by the VAs and the animators).

I have no skill in animation whatsoever as of right now, it is a fact. This role is rather self explanatory, animating the characters (or anything moving) in whatever they are doing. It is important to note that although the characters are a little more “cartoony”, movement and actions should be more realistic. Experience is preferred, but not required.

Rather self explanatory role, making background music for things and making sound effects for things so that the finished product isn't full of cheap sound effects.

In all honesty, I don't know much about this role, but I have a sneaking suspicion that someone will need to be there to adjust audio and sound effects to fit the desired scene. That's what audio engineer do... I think.
