The lead protagonist of Hope in Friends, Neon the Pikachu, is a human-turned-Pokémon with an energetic, youthful attitude and a mysterious purpose. His emotions will range from bombastic and slapstick to heavy concern and sorrow. We picture him with somewhat of a younger, higher-pitched voice.
"No way! You're so ADORABLE! You're such a cute puppy! And you can talk, too?!"
"Bro... am I a Pikachu?

The secondary protagonist of Hope in Friends, Zander the Riolu, is a young teen with a tragic upbringing ranging from a deceased friend to an abusive father. His jealous and distrusting nature is apparent from the very beginning, but slowly withers away as he begins to form a close friendship with his newfound friends. He typically has a bit of a moody and sarcastic attitude.
