Homestuck Voices (Singing+Voice Acting Group)
Project Overview
I've started doing some Homestuck singing+voice acting again lately and it'd be great to have more people join me for duets/trios/quartets/choruses! Mostly for covers, but since I now songwrite, I'm interested in original songs as well. Before I cast a character, I'll probably voice them, since I have experience doing so in the past. I could really use help with the alpha kids and the trolls especially (I'll continue to voice the beta kids unless I'm really impressed by someone else), so please audition! I'll be using Discord to coordinate, so if I cast you, make sure you have an account I can add. Unless someone else is interested in contributing to mixing the projects, I'll be handling that too. John is a baritone. His voice is a bit high and nasal, but definitely not annoying. He's a huge nerd with a penchant for humor and mischief.
A description from the wiki: "John is an honest and straightforward kid, with a particular fascination in pranks. He is generally absent-minded, and will often overlook the possible consequences of a hasty or underthought action. He has a rather short temper, and often reacts childishly when he is angered."

EB: no, no, i mean the ghost stuff and paradoxes are one thing of course...

Rose is an alto. Her voice is generally smooth, soothing, and calm, but still expressive. She’s snarky and sarcastic, but her voice only hints at hidden meanings behind her words.
A description from the wiki: “Rose is very articulate, formal and enjoys a lengthy diatribe. She mostly plays it coy to guard her deepest thoughts, but every once in a while will succumb to her emotions in an unpredictable manner.”

TT: I must have a weakness for insufferable pricks.
EB: anyway i still haven't checked the mail, my dad has it.
EB: i'm trying to go get it from him, so brb
TT: John.
EB: what?
TT: You're wearing one of your disguises now, aren't you?
TT: You are typing to me right now while wearing something ridiculous.
EB: no, why would you even think that??

Dave is a baritone. His voice is lower, but not as low as Dirk's. He's a "cool kid" and speaks accordingly, but he's still fairly expressive.
A description from the wiki: "Dave relies on what he calls "irony" to project his coolness, and he often shields himself from harsh truths through finding it ironic; however, these qualities fade over time as he realizes how bad his upbringing was. He has a number of odd habits, including making Freudian slips and talking to himself."

Jade is a soprano. She has a sweet voice that is slightly high and nasal; adorable, but not annoying. She has strength in her voice that emerges especially when she's angered.
A description from the wiki: "Jade is light hearted and silly. She is an easygoing and supportive individual, however will lose her temper if driven to a certain point. She is also very accepting of her surroundings, and often acts on impulse."

Jane is a mezzo. She speaks in an old-fashioned manner and is very articulate. I picture her having a warmer, but not old-sounding voice. She has a lot of pent up emotions.
A description from the Homestuck Wiki: "Jane is prone to skepticism, and never acts on impulse. She is always polite and articulate in speech, but seems to deeply struggle relaying her own feelings, especially those of a romantic nature."

GG: Hey! I have believed in you too.
GG: However, believing somebody isn't the same thing as believing IN somebody.
GG: But that much said...
GG: I think that maybe I am getting ready to believe some of the wild stories I've heard?
GG: Or, if not believe outright, reserve judgment on, at least.
GT: Is that so!
GG: I don't know!
GG: I'm still not sure what to think. But what I wanted to tell you this morning was...
GG: I had a really wild dream last night.
GG: And you were in it.
GT: Oh my. *glasses fog up. fumbles for kerchief.*
GG: Sh! Not like that.
GG: It was so real! I think we were in the game, even though we haven't started playing yet.
GG: I don't know what to make of it. Whether it was a vision of the future, or somewhere that exists now, or if it was just a really lucid dream due to excitement.
GT: What was i doing there?
GG: Um...
GG: Not a heck of a lot!
GG: I really want to tell you all about it, but it will take some time to explain, and we both have things to attend to.

A slower, more melancholy song.
Roxy is an alto. She's smart, fun, and really cares about her friends. She initially drinks a lot, but eventually quits.. When auditioning for her, please voice her as "drunk" for part of the time and then normally for the rest of the time. A slight valley-girl lilt would work well for her, but nothing extreme.
A description from the Homestuck wiki: "Roxy is casual, informal and (on occasion) intoxicated. She loves to crack jokes and is comfortable with talking about even the weirdest of things. She is also quite sneaky and knows more than the others think. Of the kids in the B2 session, she is the most realistic about the situation and tries not to get involved with the drama that the other members of the group are prone to."
