Project Overview
UPDATE: Dave Strider, Rose Lalonde and Jade Harley have been cast! Minor roles for act 1 will be cast exclusively on the discord later this month so join us!
We are hoping to form a community of people passionate about Homestuck. We will be doing in character gaming, comic dubs and a let's read.
Rules:
- You must have a decent mic, we will be doing a lot of livestreams so you will not be able to edit away noise.
- You must be comfortable with livestreams and in character improv.

A voice that is captivating, yet not overly serious or overly silly, Think the narrator from The Stanley Parable in terms of acting. This voice will be for both the Narrator and Andrew Hussie who are the same guy obviously!
The challenge is particularly tortuous for young trolls, who must reconcile the wide range of contradictory emotions associated with this matrix, while understanding the nature of their various romantic urges for the first time.
You were making a play for that sicknasty pack of deliriously mouthwatering Doritos and this idiot got stuck in a pole again. Time to reset for the third time this hour.
Well, they weren't great so much as terrible. But the point is you can accomplish anything if you put your mind to it.

I imagine Rose to have a very mature voice, serious at times and laced with sarcasm at others. Rose is in no way monotone however, even when she is being serious. Please be expressive! The last line is Drunk!Rose which should sound either convincing or a tad over the top with the most realistic fake hiccup you can muster at the end.

Dave talks a lot of nonsense, but he has the confidence to pull it off. He should have emotions, not just a monotone voice. You need to be someone who is confident enough to rap at some point.

Jade should be very high and nasally. She's generally very kind and caring, but when she's mad/sassy she lets it show. The final line is of Grimbark!Jade and should be gruffer and angrier.

I see Jane as a Southern Bell, but really any sweet homey kind of voice will do. The third line is of Crockercorp!Jane and should sound more robotic and angry.

I see Roxy with a Boston/New Yorker kinda accent, but really do what you choose. She's a very kind and silly character. The second and third lines are both Drunk!Roxy.

Dirk is a character who likes to be very logical at all times, probably doesn't let too many heavy emotions slip all the time. Please try to avoid being monotone though.

Karkat is a moody, often angry, troll. However constantly yelling to voice him is bad for your vocal cords. Instead I recommend a voice like Featherbent!Karkat. Please show more emotions than just anger,

Aradia has three different phases: Ghost, Robot and Alive. The lines are put in that order, please show some differentiation between them. In both her ghost form, Aradia has very muted emotions and often comes off as sad or nihilistic. In her robot form she has more emotion, but it should still be very robotic. In her alive form she should be more bubbly and well... alive!

Sollux is a very pessimistic jerk, he also has a lisp. To achieve the right lisp try making a "th" sound instead of using a "ss" sound. The final line is when he has his teeth knocked out, you will need to do Sollux without a lisp.

Nepeta often portrays herself as a very cute sweet girl, however she is a hunter and very strong so she should be able to convey that at times. Try to roll your Rs.

Kanaya speaks in a very elegant mature way, she should enunciate well. She does have lots of emotions and can easily become very bashful or angry. Bonus points if you use some sort of British accent.

Equius is very socially awkward and authoritative. I recommend a voice like Octopimps Equius.

Gamzee starts off as a very laid back, stereotypical high guy. I recommend a voice like Octopimps Gamzee. Once he goes sober however he switches between a calm cold almost serial killer type voice (lowercase) and a loud angry voice (uppercase). The first two lines are the prior, the third is the latter.
