Hello everyone! This is a casting call for Hirunaka no Ryuusei (Daytime Shooting Star) Chapter 1 manga dub!
This project will be edited and posted on YouTube through TEAM RAMEN. TEAM RAMEN has a Discord voice acting community where we host multiple projects and offer a friendly community as well! What we're doing is dubbing over the manga, creating an audio-drama of it, chapter by chapter.
Hirunaka no Ryuusei (or Daytime Shooting Star) is a shoujo manga written and drawn by the famous mangaka Yamamori Mika. The manga dub even made it to the big screen as a live-action movie! The manga is about love, self-development, friendship, conflict, and independence, so we are looking for voices to capture the true essence of this story with a powerful message!
This project is unpaid.
TEAM RAMEN wants to reach out and invite voice actors, editors, script-writers, and more to become part of one significant collaborative experience voluntarily. The primary purpose is to have a great experience and have fun while enhancing projects with different people's talents and become a community.
Some roles are permanent.
To cohesively keep the project together and keep voices accurate, those cast for certain characters will be locked with them. This means that it's essential to stay in contact and be active with TEAM RAMEN, as well as the project in itself. If you think you are not going to be able to voice the character or be available, please keep this in mind for auditions.
RULES
1. You must be at least 16 years old to participate.
2. Make sure you have a good microphone where there is absolutely NO feedback.
3. Make sure your audition clip does NOT have any background noise.
4. Please keep in mind if you have enough time to devote to this project. (We'll schedule and hold meetings regularly, so there are a lot of opportunities to be in touch and talk to us regardless.)
5. When cast, please be active on the TEAM RAMEN server. (Those who are cast will be given a link directly to the server. We're not asking for you to live your life there, but communication and being active shows us a lot about you and can help us!)

Satsuki Shishio is a 24-year old man who is very whimsical, casual, and friendly.
What we're looking for:
(Thinking about Suzume Yosano; somber, regretful tone)
"I can't stop thinking about it... Was there no other way for me to end this without hurting her feelings..?"
(To Suzume Yosano; light, awkward tone)
"The first time you came to my house. I didn't tell you but, actually, I was really really nervous."
(Cheerfully calling out to Suzume Yosano; casual tone)
"Hey there Chunhun~! Don't you have some friends to hang out with?"

Mamura Daiki is a closed-off yet caring, slightly tsundere boy in highschool.
What we're looking for:
(When Suzume Yosano finds out about his blushing; threatening, very embarrassed tone)
"You bastard! If you dare tell anyone else, I'll kill you."
(Talking to Suzume Yosano about Satsuki Shishio; matter-of-fact, frustrated yet worried tone)
"It isn't in the past. You haven't forgotten anything. Stop acting like your so strong!!"
(About his and Suzume Yosano's relationship; quiet, somber, defeated tone)
"I thought it'd be alright to be a substitute for him. But I couldn't be 'somebody's substitute' because it's something that doesn't exist. That's the story."

Yuyuka Nekota is a popular, two-faced girl in highschool who develops into a better friend.
What we are looking for:
(Talking about love with Suzume Yosano; rude, surprised tone to wise and matter-of-fact tone)
"Are you stupid? You wouldn't get an answer no matter how much you think about it. It's not Japanese or Math. It doesn't need thoughts or reasons. You will be aware of it when that person is next to you."
(Talking about her ideal significant other; dreamy, quiet tone)
"A person who understands me, accepts me for I am, hits me where I'm wrong, and sees me all the way. That... will be the most special person for me."
(Thinking about Mamura Daiki; determined, admirable tone)
"I've got countless guys fall in love with me, but... this is the first time I've fallen in love with someone. He's the only person who's entered my world apart from me."

Uncle Yukichi is a very dramatic and caring individual who acts as Yosano Suzume's guardian as she's in Tokyo.
What we are looking for:
(Yukichi cooking while voicing his concerns for Yosano Suzume; concerned, casual tone)
"Because... all of a sudden, you are all alone with no parents and no friends. Is it really okay?"
(In shock and angry at Satsuki Shishio for having feelings for Yosano Suzume; low, threatening, "in-disbelief" tone)
"You... do you realize what you are doing? Suzume is like a precious child to me, and you have been my friend for so long. Don't even think about it!"
This character shows up again after some more development in the manga, though it is minor.
Yasuo is Suzume Yosano's friend from her old school before she left for Tokyo. He's a dorky, awkward character as a whole.
What we are looking for:(Asking Yosano Suzume over to his house for dinner; stuttery, awkward tone)
"H-hiya Yosano! My mom made a bunch of food and wanted to know if you were free!"
(Bringing Yosano Susume sushi, running over to her; excited, dorky tone)
"Heeeey!! Look here! You said you liked seafood right?"
This character shows up again after some more development in the manga, though it is minor.
Suzume's mother is a casual person who can be very basic.
What we're looking for:
(Sighing, as Yosano Suzume confronts her about going to Tokyo alone; defeated, comically disappointed tone)
"I know it'll be hard dear, but your father's work isn't giving us any leverage! I'm going with him and you will have to go to Tokyo and stay with your uncle."
(At Yosano Suzume's send-off; dramatically ironic tone)
"We'll miss you so much, my dear! You do your best! Mommy loves you~!"

Suzume's father is a very kind and wise individual who inspires her.
What we are looking for:

"Listen well, Suzume. If you ever get lost in life, no matter what, continue forward. Whether it's to the left or right, it doesn't matter. The more anxious people feel, the more likely they will take action."
