Oh! Well, uh, heh. Hey guys...! It's me again! Suprise!

You might be wondering about the project title you see before you, right? Right. And there's good reason for that. Which I will now get into. ahem!

As you will soon know, I have been blessed with the opportunity to finally watch Paramount's “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” to kick off the New Year/on New Year's Day, of course! With a bang! And unsurprisingly, I adored... every. Single. MINUTE OF IT!! No wonder why people loved it and is now currently #1 movie in the world!! (as I predicted)

Anyway... movie rivalry bias aside, since I was able to see it in theaters, what other way to obsess and hyperfixate over the spectacle of a third Sonic movie than to make a project in relation to that?

More specifically, a Sonic 3 related fan project that involves the hog, the myth, the legend, the U.L.F. (Ultimate Life Form) himself, Shadow! Even more specifically, this movie's adaptation of him?

Which is whyyyyy I am in dire need of a voice actor to be able to be in the black and red hedgie's air shoes for scenes I am 1000% planning to have fan dubbed, featuring the chosen voice actor!

And much similar to my previous casting calls, I have for everyone auditioning the exact same rules/requirements are in effect, such as these:

  • You need a good, great, amazing or at least decent microphone. (Recording on a decent sounding cell phone/smartphone mic is optional as well, as long as it's not not all static-y and kinda muffled please. Actual studio microphones are encouraged, but not mandatory) Little to no unnecessary background noise or static.

  • When recording for your desired character you audition for, your performance has to be believable and authentic. Acting prowess is a HUGE MUST. I have to hear and be fully convinced if they are confident and cocky, friendly/hospitable/tolerable/bearable, confused and lost, surprised and panicked, in absolute pain/agony and anger... you get the basic gist.

  • Once you send in the audition, comment me your means of social media for communication, be it Twitter, Bluesky, YouTube, Tumblr, email or Discord (I'd strongly recommend Discord, but even if you don't have one, I suppose Twitter or Bluesky or your Gmail handle would suffice. That way we can discuss the project and do a bit of voice direction/send in MP3s/WAVs. And unfortunately I have just learned that you can't send MP3s/WAV audio files on Bluesky. Disappointing, isn't it?)

  • Preferably, I'd definitely need y'all to record each line with three takes. (Four takes are okay if you feel like you gotta do a teeny bit more)

  • And this one is MAJORLY, IMMENSELY IMPORTANT if you wanna get casted and land the role... you have to have seen the entire movie. I know I have and thoroughly enjoyed it.

  • Sonic voice auditions aren't needed, as I will fill that role. Additionally because I also really, really, REALLY BADLY WANT TO DUB certain scenes that are just... super. 😉

  • And that's about it! 👍

  • Oh yeah and before I forget: there's a certain iconic fight in the third act (and I mean the hedgehog super form brawl) that definitely requires battle sounds like, grunts, groans, exertion souds, etc.

    Apologies for the long wait upon finding out who got the part but I am happy to say that I have cast my Movie Shadow for dubs I'm still eager to do! Looking forward to working with the VA I settled on!

Shadow the Hedgehog is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog film series produced by Paramount Pictures. He is an anthropomorphic alien hedgehog who fell to Earth in a meteor and became part of a secret government experiment called Project Shadow led by Professor Gerald Robotnik. Upon his arrival, Shadow befriended Gerald's granddaughter, Maria. However, the Guardian Units of Nations, believing Shadow to be a threat, invaded Gerald's laboratory, causing an explosion that killed Maria while Shadow was placed in a state of suspended animation. 

Fifty years later, Shadow was awakened from his suspended animation on Prison Island by Gerald to carry out his revenge plot against humanity for Maria's death with the help of Gerald's grandson, Doctor Ivo Robotnik, coming into conflict with Team Sonic. By managing to infiltrate the G.U.N. HQ, Shadow and Team Robotnik managed to deploy the Eclipse Cannon with the intention of destroying Earth. In his decisive duel against his newfound arch-rival, Sonic the Hedgehog, Shadow was able to come to terms with his past and decided to help Sonic and his friends save the planet to honor Maria. Using the Chaos Emeralds, Sonic and Shadow worked together to stop the cannon, with Shadow and Ivo sacrificing themselves to destroy the weapon. 










However, Shadow survived and returned to Earth.

For this Shadow audition, preferably, lean into a Keanu Reeves type of voice impression for him, based on how he was originally voiced acted in the movie. (The most encouraged) 

If you, however, prefer you audition with your preferred take on a Shadow voice, you can feel free to do that if you'd like. Or maybe, just go crazy and mix the two together!
