Project Overview
.hack//G.U. Abridged and .hack//Roots Abridged is fan-based parody. This comedy/drama is set in the year 2017 within the massive MMO called "The World". The story follows Haseo as he uncovers the truth about The World, the answers to reawaken his friend Shino, and the secrets behind the entity known as Tri-Edge. This is a passion project that started in 2022. As the series has gotten bigger over the course of that year I need new voices for the show. Some of which will be permanent like Pi (The same character appears in both GUA and RA) and some are minor characters that flesh out The World (The Grunties, a cow? Pig? Cow pigs? Cigs?).
There are a few things that I must request as you submit your lines:
- Have clear audio. No background noise or static. The better the quality the better!
- All lines should be submitted with your Discord information (So that I can contact you if chosen). Lines also should be done in ABC format (First line, then second, then third, repeat).
- MP3 or Wav format preferred with the file named something like Discord Name_Character Name.
- Be reliable and able to submit lines within a reasonable time. I will work with you should there be a delay in receiving the lines.
- Have fun with it! This series can be both silly and tear jerking at times so don't be afraid to give it your all! You can do this! I believe in you!
More characters will be available as we continue the series so if you didn't get chosen, don't worry! There will be other opportunities!

Pi is a system administrator for The World R:2, and an Epitaph User, being able to summon Avatar Tarvos.
Personality:
As Yata's assistant, Pi is required to follow his orders, a job she does willingly, being a consummate professional. However, unlike Yata, she has trouble seeing The World R:2 and its users in an impersonal way. She has the tendency to become attached to people and occasionally breaks the rules in order to help them out. Despite the tough personality she tries to give off, she is prone to occasional moments of weakness, especially when dealing with other people. Nevertheless she is dedicated to both her job and to Yata and does her best to follow his commands.

Gao Grunty is a Grunty who lives in the Guild Kestrel's @Home. It appears as a Grunty version of Gabi, the Guildmaster of Kestrel. Gao Grunty is obsessed with manliness and often encourages people to try dubious training methods like staring into the sun for hours to increase their strength. It is also fond of sitting in Gabi's throne when he's not around.

Melo Grunty is a Grunty raised by Zelkova. He manages Moon Tree's @Home on Delta Server, and sometimes appears in Quests. Melo Grunty has inherited Zelkova's laid back nature, and has a very naive view of the world. He enjoys sitting around dreaming about food, and believes that schools of canned fish swim in the sea. Due to his position at the entrance to Moon Tree, Melo Grunty talks to lots of different people, and frequently shares the stories he hears. Matsu in particular is fond of telling Melo Grunty ghost stories and urban legends, though Melo Grunty rarely understands them. Melo Grunty has a deep fondness for fish.

Wise Grunty is a Grunty raised by Yata. It manages Raven's @Home in Mac Anu, and sometimes appears in Quests. As a parody of Yata it tries to come off as a wise, all-knowing being. However its sayings tend to be more ridiculous than inspiring. Wise Grunty's ultimate goal is to rule the entire world, though it promises that the people it likes, such as Haseo, will get a small bit of land when this happens.
