Guys and Dolls: Script Read

Guys and Dolls: Script Read

Project Overview

We’re hosting a virtual script read of Guys and Dolls on August 21, 2026, at 8:30 pm EST: The classic Broadway musical known for its colorful characters, witty dialogue, and iconic charm. This is not a musical performance — no singing required. This read focuses entirely on character acting, comedic timing, and ensemble chemistry.

The goal is to bring together a group of passionate performers for a fun, relaxed, community-driven read-through of the script. Perfect for actors who love Golden Age theatre, character-driven comedy, or simply want to sharpen their cold‑reading skills.

🎙️ What We’re Looking For

  • Strong character voice acting

  • Clear diction and confident reading

  • Ability to play off others in a live setting

  • Reliable attendance for the scheduled read

  • Enthusiasm — this is meant to be fun

🎤 Audition Instructions

Please submit:

  • A short voice sample (30–60 seconds) reading any dialogue of your choice

  • Your preferred role(s)

  • Confirmation that you can attend the live read

  • Optional: A brief note about your acting experience

  • You will be added to the Daybreak Productions Discord
