INTRODUCTION
Gunderson is an Xmas Noir in the vein of The Big Sleep and Chinatown. Gunderson, a warehouse elf, is hired to find out who is blackmailing Santa two nights before Christmas.
The project will be a hobby level animation approximately 15 minutes long to be released before the holiday season 2023. As I am non-commercial creator with about 300 subs these will be unpaid but fully credited roles.
DEADLINES AND AUDITIONS
The minor roles will close when an audition matches the character. I will use the audition files for the project and notify the actor via the comments.
Please record in the quietest environment accessible to you (no air conditioners in the background, no fans -- I don't mind performing noise reduction on your files, however too much clean-up reduces the quality of your voice).
Feel free to cut your lines to your best/favorite takes. Three takes would be great!.
Recordings can be submitted as one .wav file per scene to the email address, which will be provided to you after casting. If a file is too large to submit via email, we will make alternate arrangements.
Thank you all for the wonderful auditions! They were all very good and left me with some difficult choices. That said, I have now selected and contacted the VAs that I felt best fit the character. Best of luck to all and I hope we might have a chance to collaborate in the future!
Ana the automaton is the femme fatale of this Christmas noir. Surrounded by elves she's the only automaton in the North Pole. She serves drinks at Sugarplums. Speaks 16 times in the 15 page script (214 words). I would like the audition line in two takes. The first take natural. The second take slightly (only slightly) robotic.
Her old man’s a bad elf who spends far too much time in my establishment.
This Santa is a laid back, smooth criminal. He's Naughty with thin veneer of Nice. Like a bond villain dressed in red. But not too over the top.
Speaks 18 times (309 words) in 2 scenes in a 15 page script.
Mr. Gunderson, several years back you helped my brother in law out of a nasty jam. I didn't meet you at that time but my wife spoke highly of you and your skills.
A little naughty but mostly nice. Older but sexy. A bit playful and a touch of sarcasm. Lauren Bacall in "Harper" perhaps? Speaks 11 times (248 words) in a 15 page script.
That’s an ugly bruise. I would of thought elves bruised green or red. Something prettier.
Kelly Diamond (5 Lines in one scene) – Sleazy and muscled. He's a hood, a gangster, a goon. Vibe is a 70s stereo salesman with a switchblade. Harvey Keitel in Taxi Driver.
Jesus. I’d be a big winner tonight except for all this losing.

The gruff warehouse foreman looks down on the warehouse floor from a second story walkway. He leans over the railing and calls down to one of the employees.

Macklemore is a thug who roughs up folks. These lines should be 100% deadpan. Expressionless like a hammer.
