Gravity Falls: The Royal Dub of the Holy Mackeral
Project Overview
What is this?
This is going to be a fandub for the amazing Disney animated series, Gravity Falls.
For those of you unfamiliar with the plot, Dipper and Mabel Pines are mystery twins. They are in for when they are sent off to spend the summer with their great-uncle in the mysterious town of Gravity Falls, Oregon. Upon their arrival, Dipper and Mabel's huckster great uncle, Grunkle Stan, enlists the siblings' help in running the Mystery Shack, a tourist trap he owns that overcharges unsuspecting customers. Although Dipper and Mabel quickly discover that the Mystery Shack itself is a hoax, they soon discover that there is something truly strange about their new town, and together they begin to unlock the true secrets of Gravity Falls. Thrust into their new summer home, the twins try to adapt to their strange surroundings, and especially to their Grunkle Stan, whose insatiable appetite for money drives him to spin every opportunity into a financial advantage. While Dipper grumbles about the prospect of the same boring routine of working at Grunkle Stan's hokey tchotchke shop, his extremely, optimistic sister seizes the chance to seek out an epic summer romance. However, summer becomes much more interesting for the siblings after Dipper inadvertently uncovers a cryptic journal in the woods that offers insight into the strange and wondrous mysteries of Gravity Falls. Before long, Dipper begins to notice the town's idiosyncrasies, and with the book in tow and his enthusiastic desire to vanquish evil, he sets out to investigate the village's secrets. Trapped together in the small isolated town, the siblings quickly realize they need each other to battle the imminent mysteries lurking in Gravity Falls. Meanwhile, when he isn't busy trying to make a quick buck from his unsuspecting customers, Grunkle Stan guards his own secret that might hold the key to unlocking the mystery of Gravity Falls.

Dipper Pines is a smart, curious, and adventurous 12-year-old boy and is the protagonist of the series. Alongside his sister Mabel, he spends the summer of 2012 with his Great Uncle Stan in Gravity Falls, Oregon, where he and his sister constantly encounter the town's paranormal tendencies. Armed with Journal 3 that he found in a hidden place in a tree in the Gravity Falls Forest, he is the overall main protagonist of Gravity Falls, seeking to uncover the town's mysterious secrets. Dipper is intelligent, compassionate, self-conscious and rational, and sometimes, overly judgmental, and can't wait to grow up. An adventurer at heart, Dipper can't sit still and is always looking for the next riddle or mystery to solve. His scrupulous attention to detail is useful when he is attempting to solve mysteries but sometimes his over-zealousness can leave others questioning his credibility. He is wise and intelligent beyond his years, and his refusal to sit still when there are puzzles to be solved often leaves him restless in everyday situations. He also gets very irritated when people think he's “cute” or “adorable”, as he wants to be taken seriously as a grown-up by people around him as at most times Dipper is more mature than others. When Dipper and Mabel (and Soos at times) are on their adventures Dipper is the one to act as the leader mostly because he is shown to be very brave and smart. He is somewhat protective of his sister, whenever she is in danger he is always there to help and will do anything to get her free. He can sometimes be selfish and is not above using Gravity Falls' mysterious elements to his advantage. Despite his brave and serious personality, living with Mabel Pines his whole life (who is famous for her silly and fun-loving attitude) has caused him to indulge in childish activities with her.

Mabel, I have very keen powers of observation. For example, just by smelling your breath, I can tell that you have been eating... (Sniffs) an entire tube of toothpaste?
[To Wendy's friends] She's not much for first impressions, unlike this guy! ... (Weaker) This guy...
[To Gideon] Bill thinks there's no heroes in this world, but if we work together and fight back, we can defeat him. You wanna be Mabel's hero? Stand up to Bill, and let us save her!
Mabel Pines is a 12-year-old girl and is the deuteragonist of the series. Alongside her brother Dipper, she spends the summer of 2012 with her Great Uncle Stan in Gravity Falls, Oregon, where she and her brother frequently encounter the supernatural. She takes a much less serious approach to life than her twin brother Dipper, as she navigates her way around odd, new surroundings. Mabel is an energetic, fun, bouncy, hyperactive, enthusiastic, and free-spirited girl. She is an optimist who skips through life with a braces-filled smile and an assortment of extremely colorful knit sweaters. It is Mabel's outgoing personality and fearless curiosity that comes in handy when Dipper needs help solving a mystery, even if she isn't always aware of her silliness. She shows a more sophisticated attitude when it comes to art. Despite all the weirdness in Gravity Falls, Mabel is always a "glass-half-full" kind of girl. She is rarely angry or upset, and generally keeps a positive outlook. Despite her cheerful attitude, Mabel is shown to be quite sensitive, as she can occasionally get her feelings hurt, especially by her rival, Pacifica Northwest. She is somewhat naive at times. She avoids lying and is a terrible liar, often blurting out whatever it is about which she is trying to lie. Mabel is aware of her charm and cherishes her cuteness and beauty. She generally has a high opinion of herself, considering herself "irresistible" to boys, claiming that she does everything perfectly, and fully believing she is of "pure, perfect heart". Mabel has also on occasion made mistakes that accidentally backfire in some way. However, like her brother, Mabel has the best of intentions and she will always try to choose the right options for the happiness of herself and others, she also proves to be clumsy.
Mabel is a preteen dreamer with a world filled with preteen novels (mostly about vampires), and her fixation on finding her one true love occasionally lands her in sticky situations. She sometimes has her moments of self-centered behavior, most notably when it comes to boys with whom she's infatuated with.

Wendy Corduroy is a tall, laid-back teenager working a part-time job at the Mystery Shack. Fun-loving and rebellious, she frequently shirks responsibility for activities that she finds more enjoyable, such as hanging out with her rambunctious friends or going on adventures with Dipper and Mabel. Wendy is a mellow, down-to-earth, fun-loving, and slightly lethargic teen who is a part-time worker at the Mystery Shack. She doesn't enjoy working, even though she doesn't do anything at all while "working." Her boyish personality and interests reflect that of a tomboy archetype. Despite her cool attitude, her attitude is largely a cover for the stress her family causes her. Wendy generally maintains a positive outlook, is almost always friendly, and is rarely seen being moody or cranky. She is friendly and generous to Dipper and Mabel even though they are younger than she is. Wendy is a brave, strong girl when going against threats and protecting her friends. Through any adventure she goes on with her friends, she is always there to be helpful and very understanding. She's somewhat gluttonous, as she decided to become a lifeguard for the Gravity Falls pool for snack privileges, but got fired due to taking too many snacks. Wendy is just like any other ordinary teenager who wants to be an adult.

Gideon Gleeful is a fraudulent child psychic, whose hunger for ultimate power motivates him to manipulate and intimidate others into giving him what he wants. A sworn enemy of the Pines family, he serves as the main antagonist in Season 1, until his eventual defeat and incarceration. Li'l Gideon is a self-proclaimed television psychic whose real mission is to take down his competition, the Mystery Shack. He uses his "cuteness" as an advantage to get what he wants and admits that people have a hard time saying "no" to him because of it. He is manipulative, cunning, and sly. He speaks in a Southern American dialect. He is spoiled, ungrateful, bratty, selfish, and abusive towards his parents in ways such as throwing ice cream, yelling at them, making a fuss, and breaking lamps. He can also be very rude, obnoxious, and argumentative. He is deeply arrogant, believing himself to be above everyone else in Gravity Falls. He is extremely manipulative, lying to the residents of Gravity Falls to get them to do what he wants. Due to getting almost everything he wants, Gideon can become severely unhinged when something is beyond his reach. He refuses to accept the fact that Mabel wants nothing to do with him, being in complete denial about his feelings.

Lazy Susan is a dimwitted, sluggish woman who works as a waitress at Greasy's Diner. She is known for her "lazy eye" and love of cats. Lazy Susan is good-natured and has a rather odd sense of humor. She enjoys fixing things, although she is untalented at doing so. She loves cats and owns at least three, named Donald, Sandy, and Mr. Cat Face

Sheriff Daryl Blubs is the lazy, bumbling head of the Gravity Falls Police Department and Deputy Durland's partner. Sheriff Blubs works with his partner, Deputy Durland. They are known as the lazy and sarcastic local law enforcement team who deem every case unsolvable so that they can go to lunch instead. He is somewhat of an incompetent policeman throughout the series. Despite his ineptitude, he looks down on others attempting their own detective work, like Dipper. He and Deputy Durland seem to like to do pointless activities instead of really working. His favorite place to go for vacation is a water park in Great Lake, Michigan.
Black POC preferred.

I'm so confident you're gonna say no, that I'm gonna take a long slow sip from my cup of coffee.
[Making fun of Dipper] Oooh! Would you look at what we got here! City boy thinks he's gonna solve a mystery with his fancy computer phone!
[To Durland] If being delightful was a crime, you'd be breaking the law!
Deputy Edwin Durland is a dimwitted, incompetent policeman in Gravity Falls, Oregon, and Sheriff Blubs' deputy and right-hand man. Deputy Durland likes to engage in comfortable games and activities together with Sheriff Blubs, and both are more preoccupied with those than their work as police officers. They avoid their responsibilities to goof off or fall asleep in their police car. Multiple times they have ignored crimes that happen right in front of their eyes, but Durland shows more enthusiasm for dispensing justice than his partner. Loud noises and shiny things tend to draw his attention and he is prone to repetitive self-stimulation that he then focuses on. He has fun with maze games aimed at children but has trouble solving them. When confronted with stressful situations he becomes alarmed and copes with emotional outbursts and occasionally screaming and sprinting into walls.

Toby Determined is the homely proprietor of and sole editor for the Gravity Falls Gossiper, serving as a writer, editor, and journalist. He has a crush on a local news reporter Shandra Jimenez. Toby is insecure and easily gets saddened when people put him down or ignore him. People seem to mock him for his appearance. He really wants people to accept him in a good way, even going to such lengths as using a cinderblock as a camera and a turkey baster as a microphone.

Manly Dan Corduroy is an extremely masculine lumberjack in Gravity Falls, Oregon, and the father of Wendy Corduroy and her brothers. Manly Dan is the proud father figure, often showing his children how to do fun activities like fishing, in his own manly way. Besides this, he is also an emotionally unstable lumberjack. In spite of this, he still has some sense of caution.

Candy is Mabel and Grenda's cheerful, intelligent, and eccentric best friend. Candy is shy and insecure, largely due to being put down by popular girls like Pacifica and for this reason, tends to hang out with other girls that are rejected for being individuals. She enjoys spending time with her friends, whether the activity is going to a party, reading magazines about boys, having sleepovers, trick-or-treating, reading romance novels or simply hanging out. She likes coming up with ways to innovate the human body, such as taping forks to her fingers in order to eat popcorn. She is very cheerful and she expresses a humorous side. Even though she can be shy, she has a side of her that can be quite like Mabel herself. She is also shown to have a sense of quick-thinking ingenuity much like Dipper's. She expresses a love of photography, taking various pictures with her cell phone that she may post on the internet.

Grenda is Mabel and Candy's best friend, notable for her large physique, obsession with boys, great physical strength, and deep, gruff, and masculine voice. Grenda is insecure about her low, gruff voice and is constantly belittled, as well as made to feel weird and out of place by popular girls such as Pacifica Northwest. This tends to make her uncomfortable, sad, and angry. She's very supportive of her friends and while with them is usually happy. She, like the rest of her friends, likes to talk about boys.

Pacifica Northwest is the most popular girl in Gravity Falls and great-great-granddaughter of supposed town founder Nathaniel Northwest. In the summer of 2012, during the stay of Dipper and Mabel Pines in Gravity Falls, Pacifica ended up forming a great rivalry with them, especially with Mabel. Pacifica is a stuck-up, egotistical, arrogant, snotty, rude, and mean girl who is also a stereotypical blonde popular girl as she has money, style, and talent. She is a diva who looks down badly on "weirdos" such as Mabel and her friends, Candy and Grenda, and lords her ancestry over the people of Gravity Falls. Her parents spoil her and encourage her behavior which has greatly affected her psyche, to the point of valuing what her parents drive into her: money, winning, and looks. In reality though, Pacifica is a tragically misguided character who only acts the way she does because her parents keep her in line with their tight standards on what being a Northwest entails and also with Pavlovian behavioral conditioning, to which she is always forced to obey despite her objection.

[To Mabel, Smug and condescending] Aw, 'it' thinks it's gonna win. Wait, did you hear that? People cheering for the weird girls? Yeah, me neither.
Hey! Even in a sack, I still look better than you!
[To Dipper, Upset and Ashamed] You wanna know why this room was locked up? This is what I found in here. A painted record of every horrible thing my family's ever done: lying, cheating. And then there's me: I lied to you just because I'm too scared to talk back to my stupid parents. You were right about me, I am just another link in the world's worst chain.
Robbie is a sarcastic, arrogant teenager. He is Wendy's (later ex) boyfriend, and Dipper's primary rival for Wendy's affections until the couple's breakup. He is the eponymous lead guitarist in his band Robbie V. and the Tombstones. In terms of personality, Robbie is a stereotypical moody teenager, laid back, cold and apathetic. He is condescending, especially toward younger individuals. His careless attitude makes him negligent of others' needs, thoughts, opinions, etc., though he does express a certain—albeit limited—degree of concern for Wendy. Like Dipper, he is anxious to win Wendy's love and this mutual goal only fuels their fierce, incessant rivalry. Robbie is also known to be reckless, arrogant and dishonest. He also has some level of insecurity, enough to see Dipper as an actual threat to his relationship with Wendy.

Tambry is one of Wendy's friends, who is known for being a cellphone addict. Tambry is in many ways a stereotypical teenager. She enjoys texting and using social networking sites to constantly update her status, even more so than other teens, and rarely looks up from her cell phone. She tends to be downbeat and apathetic to most things, giving off a somewhat gloomy demeanor. Robbie is the only person for whom she has shown more interest in than her phone.

Tyler is the town's local enthusiasm enthusiast and mayor of Gravity Falls. He is most well known for saying the words, "Git 'em! Git 'em!" multiple times throughout the entire series. Tyler appears to be good-hearted and nice. He is seen as a bit of a scatterbrain, not knowing what to buy when he visits the Mystery Shack. He acts flamboyant and he is also noted for being very effeminate and indecisive. He is a bit odd, due to doing his Christmas shopping in the summer. He often encourages characters to fight and cheers their crazy actions on by saying "Git em', git em'!"

Bud Gleeful is the father of Gideon, who, despite his friendly nature, is a known con man who supports questionable business, such as his son's fraudulent psychic act and his own shoddy car business.
