Audition Requirements: No prior experience in voice acting needed! If you do have an acting reel, you may submit that as a substitute or along with your audition. Please submit .mp3 or .wav, with no audible breathing, loud noises, or excess background noise, using the set-up you intend to record the podcast with. We do request that you be 18+ to audition.
*A note on casting: Nowhere Radio Station specifically encourages LGBTQ+ voice actors - especially BIPOC and API voice actors - to audition, given the nature of the story of Nowhere.

Roles are Cast
Good evening, First of all, thank you so much for auditioning. I've just sent preliminary messages/emails to everyone that's been cast. I am planning on giving audition feedback to those who asked for it in the next couple of days, so just be patient. Going Nowhere is planned to have a Season 3 so I hope y'all come back and audition for that next summer!
LOOKING SPECIFICALLY FOR A NON-BINARY ACTOR!
Artemis Kane (xe/xem) is a medical student at the local hospital; Very nonchalant and willing to accept... unusual explanations for what's happening in Nowhere. Acts first, thinks second, but only because they're usually right - keenly aware of horror movie tropes and absolutely refuses to partake in one.
[Talking about a deceased acquaintance] "I liked Oliver. I'd usually stop by Hole-y Moly before night shifts and get the biggest coffee from him, and he'd be like, 'Good thing you're at the hospital so they can catch you when the heart attack hits,' and then compliment my earrings or some shit." [Pause] "I saw him when he first came in. I saw what he was like like, what happened to him. So, yeah, I can believe that it was a sleep paralysis manifestation of his guilt, or whatever."
[Explaining an odd occurrence that happened to xem; Try to give the final line a heavy impact] "It was... You know, when you get so used to being alone, you find comfort in your own company. And honestly, being alone isn't that scary. It's the moment when you realize you're not that makes your pulse quicken, and your breath hitch.]
[After a comedic pause] “Nope! NOPE! Not touching the spooky, definitely cursed mirror. I don’t fuck with that, absolutely not. You shouldn’t either but I’m not your mom, I’m not going to tell you what to do and what not to do. But I am going to ask you -” [The mirror breaks; Then, dismayed:] “... give me a running head start.”
Peter Rachels - a man of many faces, of many voices, a conglomeration of capitalist ideals and terrible puns. Will be in 2+ (depending on feedback) 10-15 minute episodes. *WE ARE SEEKING MULTIPLE PEOPLE FOR THIS ROLE
[Trying to be all suburban-ite] “Knock knock!” [Door slams] “OW!” [Still in pain] “I don't know if you know this but you actually shut my foot in the-” [Door slams again; Another shriek of pain] “Okay, it was on purpose, got it.”
[Now deadly serious] "There are two types of people in this world. Creators and parasites. You either make something - or produce something, their synonyms and I don't much care for your pedantic right now - or you leech off other people's honest work. Do you understand which you are? And do you understand which I proudly am?"
[As villainous as possible] “And here we stand again, side by side over a vast town full of those who needed to be organized. We organized them, remember that? Into neat little rows of neat little houses; gave them the basics so they wouldn't complain, and gave them all these fun little ways to pretend each one is better than the other. And it felt... it felt like a hollow shell of a home we left behind, didn't it?” [Pause, then resentfully] “Though, I could tell you were never fully convinced. You could have at least pretended, couldn't you? It would have made your now-short life much easier in the long run.”
Steve Parish (he/him) - a bit of a coward, dismissive, and the kind of condescending that comes with years of being unobserved to those around him. Still, not inherently evil, just obnoxious. Will be featured in four 10-15 minute episodes.
[Almost sighing, not angry just disappointed] "Oh - there's - that's... Just watch the broken glass, please. Those flimsy shoes do not look like the sort of apparel one should wear when gallivanting about some broken glass."
"No, no, he - " [A sigh, then a pause] "My brother has always been scared to, once more, find himself stuck under the thumb of someone else. It's a fear of entrapment and a need for personal freedom. And no... no, I don't think that justifies his actions. But he's still my brother, and I cannot help but try and understand why he does the things he does."
[Threatening, by scared himself, as he's never wholly gone through with murder] "These are deep woods. You know the stories as well as I do - no one will find you. I - I could... Don't - don't tell me I couldn't I - I've got no choice. So I'm going to do it, even if I won't necessarily like it."
We always find ourselves in need of spare voice actors to fill short, one-to-two scene roles, so if you can’t do a lot of time-commitment heavy roles - try for this. Examples include: local ‘friends’ or Meg’s, parents, brothers, receptionists, and Hole-y Moly employees. *WE ARE LOOKING FOR MULTIPLE PEOPLE FOR THIS ROLE
[Talking to a coworker] “Yeah, that’s great, could you cover my shift on Saturday?”
“Listen Meg, I know we got off on the wrong foot… and by that I do mean you publicly trashed my advice column for several years because you were - ahem, let’s both say what we’re thinking - jealous of our journalism professor liking me better.”
[Talking to their kid] “You know, when I hoped that you’d make some friends in college, I was really hoping you’d pick… normal ones.”
