Hi! I’m Mista or MistaFilms and thank you for taking a look at my casting call for my new sims VO series “Ghost Girl”! I’m excited to get working on this because I've only worked on fantasy related projects for the past few years, but this is so different from that. Everyone is welcome to audition regardless of race, sexuality, gender identity, etc, this is an inclusive space :) I hope the project piques your interest!
**Trigger warning for self harm and suicide
Izzy Hernandez has recently been discharged from the mental hospital after being there because of her depression. Finally, after feeling trapped there for so long, she attempts to get her life back on track by attending an arts school in the city. Growing up in Midwestern America, the city is a completely different world.
Have a clear mic! Whatever equipment you use is fine, as long as there is minimal background noise.
Use emotion! Emotion is so important when it comes to bringing these characters to life! The intended tone for each line is also indicated before the line.
Repeat each line 2-3 times! I love to hear lines with different takes and inflections. (Be sure not to repeat them too many times, as it'll make the audition too lengthy)
Be aware of the series’ content. As I mentioned above, this may be triggering for some people. Though the series is pretty humorous, a lot of the premise surrounds a failed suicide attempt, so if that is a trigger for you and would make this unenjoyable, please hold of from auditioning and take care of yourself <3 On top of this, many characters have LGBTQ+ identities, so if you are not okay with this, please do not audition for this project.
Be committed! Sims machinima takes a long time as I’m only one person (I’m writing, filming, editing, etc) so it’s important that you’ll be able to stick around for a bit. If there is any reason you are no longer available to voice a character, we’ll figure it out from there! I'm usually pretty flexible with recasts, as long as you stay in contact with me and let me know that you'll need one.
Have fun with it! This is a very stress-free project, and having a good time while being a part of it is very important <3

Violet is everything that Izzy isn’t. She was very popular in high school, but she's a bit unsure of who she is now that she's graduated. She’s strangely multifaceted, trying to be a million different people at once to please others. She has a confident demeanor, but a lot of her sense of self is fabricated. She grew up in the city and knows the ropes of the area surrounding the campus. A good source for booze, drugs, all of that stuff.

Despite their differences, Jonah always tries her best to understand Izzy and be there for her.

Rowan has changed a lot throughout his life. In high school, he was a super nerdy and insecure debate kid, but he always knew he wanted to do something more artistic when he grew up. Unfortunately, that path wasn’t very kind to him, as he got caught in the wrong crowd and started using. However, he is now clean and trying to better himself, though he can still be a bit of an asshole. He’s the guitarist in Jonah’s band, and his bandmates are very important to him, though he would rather die than admit it.

Jude is best friends with Jonah and Rowan, and is the drummer in the band. He has a very cool and intimidating energy, but everyone who meets him is very attracted to his fun and charismatic personality. Despite this, Jude does tend to be a little dense at times. He's a smart guy, he just doesn't think about his action's consequences.

She had a weird situation with him, and things didn’t end well. She hasn’t seen him since high school, and is now seeing him again now that she transferred to his school to pursue music. However, this time around, she is more driven and focused, trying not to be distracted by other things.

Though they’re both considered cool and desired by many, they’re worlds apart and don’t really click as much anymore. Love’s life has been a lot tougher, causing her to be more closed off than Violet.

While Silas is driven, Asher is a bit of a jokester and doesn’t really know what he’s going to do with his life.

Unlike all of the other people he surrounds himself with, he’s very into his work, and prefers to be alone instead of being at crazy parties. His dad is one of the most strict English professors at the school, which might be the reason for his uptightness. However, due to the social circle he’s in, he ends up being dragged to these ragers despite not wanting to associate with them.

Star quarterback Matt is Izzy’s younger brother who has slowly grown bitter towards her over the years. Though he does care for her, her carelessness towards her life bothers him so much that he refuses to speak to her once she’s discharged from the hospital. Though everyone sees this as angsty and a bit childish, there’s nothing Matt does better than holding a grudge. He starts his own life, separate from hers in an arts college, a place he never thought he’d end up.

Cody is Izzy’s other brother. He’s very different from his younger siblings. He has a great charisma and sense of humor, and sort of becomes the glue of his siblings. When Izzy and Matt go to college, they frequently visit him and his fianceé.

Because of this, they no longer get each other, and Theresa starts to resent him. Despite their issues, Theresa is still an integral part of Cody’s family. She has always been a role model for Izzy, and gives her great advice.

When Matt meets her in school, he is initially intimidated by her passion and intelligence, but he realizes that she's very laid back and witty.
