Hello, voice actors and actresses! Ever thought you could pull off a pretty great impression of Geralt of Rivia? What about Yennefer of Vengerberg? Are you really into The Witcher franchise, or are you just really into doing impressions?
Addilynn Skyye and the rest of the folks over at Skyyeline Dynamics have been working on a crossover episode for their series Walk Down Memory Laine, and it just so happens that we need voice actors for both Geralt and a Yennefer! The episode will be a cross between the original audio drama and The Witcher franchise. The main plot of this episode is that Alexandra, the main antagonist of the audio drama "Walk Down Memory Laine" captures Yennefer and blames it on protagonist, Vederic Laine, sending Geralt of Rivia after him. After learning the truth, Geralt teams up with Vederic to take Alexandra and her right-hand man, Kazimir, down.
The script is about 13 pages in total (including the special scene after the credits), so there are a few lines for both Geralt and Yennefer. But the folks over at Skyyeline will make it worth your while! ("We tend to chat a lot in our group chat on Skype, so if you feel like you wanna get in on the production itself, feel free!)
THE PERKS OF VOICING WITH US
We can't pay you for your services, but you may use and edit any part/parts of the episode you voice in for demo reels, fan projects based off the fan projects, animations, etc. You will also be featured in the credits and given props publicly on the social media pages for WDML!
If you so desire, we can also link to any social media accounts associated with your voice acting stuff, or just a page you're active on in particular! If not, we'll just add your CCC profile in the description. :)
REQUIREMENTS
There are a few requirements for this project, as with any other project that Skyyeline Dynamics has. The following requirements are applicable to any of our content:
- You must be at least 15 years old to audition. Skyyeline has had bad encounters in the past with individuals under 15 voicing in our project(s). The only exception to this rule is if you have been recommended by a fellow voice actor/actress already voicing in the project you are auditioning for (in this case, anyone involved in the production of Walk Down Memory Laine)
- No laptop microphones. Phone microphones/recordings are fine. In fact, our voice actress for Alexandra (Jenelle DeCosta) uses her iPhone to record all her lines! We're not looking for perfection, just something that we can easily manipulate to sound professional.
- No background noise. We are making this a rule because we want the series to sound as professional as possible. Our audio editor can edit out a small amount of background noise, but a lot of background noise may make your voice sound robotic and therefore not the quality we're looking for.
- Be serious about your audition. Troll auditions will be immediately declined and any further auditions afterwards will not be considered.
- [Not required] Like talking with your fellow voice actors/actresses? We have a Skype group for members of the cast and crew. Should you be accepted and you get the role you've auditioned for, feel free to ask for my Skype name so that I may add you to the Skype group we have set up! Basically, have a Skype account!
I'M DONE VOICING FOR THIS SERIES, BUT I STILL WANT TO VOICE ANOTHER CHARACTER -- AM I ALLOWED TO?
Absolutely! We would love to think of this casting call as another way to make new contacts and get new voices for extras, or possibly even characters we need voices for in the future! If you've enjoyed your experience with the cast and/or crew and you'd love to continue voicing, we are always open to having more voice actors and actresses on the team to voice extras! And, if we have a character that we need a new voice for and you happen to fit the part, we may just give you a permanent character to voice! (But this part is only if you, the voice actor/actress, are alright with it.)
PLEASE NOTE BEFORE CONTINUING TO AUDITION:
Since this special episode is so late, we are trying to find people to fit these roles ASAP, but we have enough time where we can look for someone who does the role perfectly, in our opinion. Since this is only an audio drama, and there will be no animation to go along with this episode, we'd appreciate if your audition could get as close to the character's voice as possible. The "explanation video" is actually some of the gameplay from The Witcher 3, including the first cutscene where you see Yennefer. So, even if you don't have any knowledge of the game and/or the voices, you still have something to base your audition off of! :)
