Latest Updates

  • AUDITION DEADLINE PASSED

Hello everybody! Apologies for this update coming in a day late, things have been hectic in pre-production; BUT I wanted to first of all say thank you for all the submissions!!? I truly didn’t expect to get some many considering the short amount of time I had but I’m thrilled and flattered! Thank you everyone who submitted an audition and who reached out to me about the project!

In the meantime, now that the deadline has passed I’ll be looking through all the auditions and picking out the cast over the weekend. I should have people picked out by either Sunday or Monday at the latest. I’ll send out confirmation emails along with the script and voice direction once I’ve chosen the voice actors. Look out for an email from me!

Once again, thank you everyone so much for supporting this project!! Seeing the amount of auditions makes me want to work on this film even more ᕦ(òvóˇ)ᕤ

- A closeted gay man living in the 1950s, in a lavender marriage with Phyllis (who is also LGBT)

- Smarmy, sarcastic, with glimpses of seriousness peeking through.

- He uses the nightclub as an escape and a safe haven. Despite the risk of being found out, he doesn’t take it too seriously. He tries to remain light-hearted while ignoring the risk.

Lewis Demo Lines:

Please submit 3 takes of each line below as either a wav or mp3 file.

Line #1: “If that alarm goes off we have 3 seconds to get to each other and act confused before the cops get down here.”

Context: Lewis is telling Phyllis about what to look out for and what they have to do just in case the club gets raided.

Acting Notes: Delivered smoothly with full confidence. Lewis has not mentioned to Phyllis prior to this that the club has a chance of being raided and is both completely oblivious to her concern and fully confident that his plan will work. Feel free to ab-lib the line if you find a better read for it!

Line #2:  “All of our lives were ruined the moment God made us what we are and put us here. We’ve, at least, found a loophole.”

Context: Lewis is rebuffing Phyllis’ concern about being caught and their lives being ruined as a result.

Acting Notes: Delivered tersely, with little patience left. He really does not want to talk about this.
