HELLO THERE AND THANKS FOR SHOWING INTEREST IN THE (technically unofficial) FRUIT SALAD COMIC DUB CASTING CALL!!!
With permission from Josh-S26 (Original Comic Creator), I want to bring to life his first pilot comic of Fruit Salad. I am deeply in love with the characters and world he built and want to do him justice by giving these characters just a tad big more of magic with voices. IMPORTANT NOTE!
- THIS IS A NON-PAID PROJECT
This is entirely a passion project, I sadly do not have the funds to provide payment for any voice actors who wish to help with this so it would be entirely free, my apologies
REQUIREMENTS FOR AUDITION:
- MUST BE 16+ TO AUDITION, some characters have some profanity so be aware when you audition for a character
- A CLEAR QUALITY MICROPHONE, we want this project to be as top quality as we can make it (no xbox 360 lobby mic lol)
- PERFERABLY HAVE DISCORD, I can try doing email or twitter/X DMs but Discord is the easiest and quickest way of reaching out to people
- COMMUNICATE, if you don't respond for more than 3 days, I will be forced to choose someone else to do a voice instead
- BE WILLING TO DO RE-TAKES, Josh has given me freedom to come up with how these characters are going to sound so I may ask for retakes to get their voices JUST right
- BE ABLE TO FOLLOW DEADLINES, I understand IRL factors can get in the way but I don't want this project to take longer than it should since I will be editing everything so please be able to follow deadlines when they are given.
- BE WILLING TO STAY IN CONTACT AFTER DUB IS RELEASED, if and when Josh decides to do more comics, I would love to keep some of the same cast for any returning characters.
HERE IS ALL THE CHARACTERS YOU CAN AUDITION FOR, A BIT ABOUT THEM, AND THEIR AUDITION LINES FOR YOU TO LOOK OVER:
FRUIT SALAD VOICE DIRECTION
INSTRUCTIONS ON AUDITIONS:
- Please read through the Comic and Google Docs so you can FULLY understand your character and how they should sound like
- Remember that I DON'T WANT A EXACT IMPRESSION OF A VOICE REFERENCE, use the voice reference as a tool to make a voice unique to you and the character
- Must record audition in ABAB format and export as a MP3 file, you are allowed to audition for more than one character
- Name your file with the character you are auditioning for and then your name.
Ex. "Applesauce_SogeyBread.mp3"
- Be sure to HAVE FUN! This project is a fun way to bring characters I love (and hopefully you do or will love too lol) to life!

Still in school and bad at most things she tries, Applesauce wants to find something she is good at and discover her Seed Ability.
She is often belittled for being untalented and unsuccessful at her age.
Even so, she continues to try no matter what!

Best friends with Applesauce, Pear Salad is a kind person who tries her best to be liked by everyone!
Though because of her mindset, she often overthinks how she comes off to others a lot. Regardless she does her best to always be there for those around her when they need it most. She also works part-time at a bakery.

Orange speaks her truth and makes fun of people which can make her come off as a nuisance. But under her act, she does enjoy spending time with others, especially her family.

Best friends with Mango Gelato, Pink Lemonade is a sour diva who often bickers and makes fun of people. She does a lot of shopping and often complains with retail employees.
She mainly targets Applesauce the most with her bullying.
Easily annoyed by others, she is most annoyed by Pear Salad’s sweet nature.

Boysenberry is a feared bully who isn’t afraid to show her strength and put people in their place.
She didn’t have friends growing up due to her attitude and appearance so she honed those parts of herself.
Students are scared of her and avoid her at all costs.

Hazelnut Coffee is a teacher at Honeypluck High School where she prioritizes teaching Literature. She is normally easy-going and well liked by most of her students. But at times, she can come off as strict, mainly with Applesauce, Orange Juice, or any of the troublemakers in her class. Even so, she deeply cares about her students and looks out for them when she can.

She often sulks and cries alone after games and is blamed by her team for their constant losses. Even so, she always pulls herself back up to try even harder.
She is often seen as adorable which only angers her since she sees it as being “looked down on.”

Cucumber Splash is your classic popular, energetic, positive school girl. She is often a bit too lively in class and gets called out by her teachers due to her grades, to which she just responds with “It’ll all work out in the end.” Outside of school, she is a talented swimmer who often tutors swim lessons for an elementary school.
