Free! - Fandub Club

Project Overview

Hey there everyone!

After one year of endless preparations, I present to you the official casting call for the Iwatobi Fandub Club (this casting call was published July 31, 2016, but created September 7, 2015). As seen, I will be opening auditions for a fandub of Free! Iwatobi Swim Club. This will not be a full series fandub. I am only dubbing scenes from the anime per cast, director, and audience choice of clips and scenes from both seasons as well as the OVAs and other special episodes. 

I'm looking for actors with:

- COMMITMENT
- CLEAR MIC
- EMOTION

I am quite new to CCC, but I have noticed the voting system. Although I believe votes are great for personal benefit and support, please do not be discouraged if someone has more votes than you. Each audition has a fair chance; I will be deciding based on whom I believe has the best voice, emotion, and potential for the role. When the cast is decided, I will be giving more indepth critique on how I wish the voice to be portrayed. Therefore, if I see in previous auditions or demo reels that you can display the right voice I'm looking for, no matter the audition, I will keep you in great consideration. I encourage everyone to submit a demo reel for the extras so I can truly see your range.

Once I have casted all my actors and actresses, I will then proceed to create a Skype group particularly for this project so please be sure to have a skype account!

  • IWATOBI FANDUB CLUB - CASTING CALL CLOSES AUG 5 @ 12AM PST

    Hi guys!

    The casting call for the Free! fandub group closes TONIGHT at 12 AM PST. If you are interested in auditioning for the group and are unable to make the deadline, please PM me before the casting call closes so I can give you the extension dates and add you to my waiting list. Unless we have discussed an extension, no futher auditions will be accepted after midnight. However, because there are a few people I will be waiting on past the deadline, only a few (perhaps even none) of the roles will be casted tomorrow. This is to give me a headstart with at least a few cast members before college starts up again while I collect the final auditions. If you see a role still not casted after Friday, it only means that I am still waiting on someone's audition for that character, thus they will not be casted until the voice actor has a fair chance. If you wish to audition for that open character, you should PM me sometime today. 

    Thank you all so much for the overwhelming amount of interest, talent, and enthusiasm around this project and I hope you are all as eager as I am to meet the cast of the Iwatobi Fandub Club! =D

  • IWATOBI FANDUB CLUB - CASTING CALL DEADLINE MOVED FROM AUG 19 TO AUG 5

    Hey everyone! Thank you so much for expressing interest in my project. Due to personal obligations and the incredible amount of talent I have been recieving, I will be closing this casting call 2 weeks early. However, this does not guarantee every role will be filled by then. I am willing to work around the cast I will finalize by August 6th and scout for the remaining characters. Rei Ryugazaki is a butterfly swimmer and a second year student at Iwatobi High School. Rei was once a member of the track team before he joined swim club.

Haruka "Haru" Nanase is the freestyle swimmer and vice-captain of the Iwatobi High School Swim Club and a third year student at Iwatobi High School.

Makoto Tachibana is the backstroke swimmer and captain of the Iwatobi High School Swim Club and a third year student at Iwatobi High School.

Goro Sasabe is the coach who worked in the former swimming club where Haruka, Rin, Makoto and Nagisa used to practice. Since the Club was closed and demolished he was working as a pizza deliveryman, but after Haruka, Makoto, Nagisa and Rin reunited, he rebuilt the club himself.

Voice Pitch: Medium-Low

  • "Hurts, right? It's not easy to watch as your memories are destroyed. (...) Well, you can't go against the times. It's sad."

  • "Haruka didn't mention it? I think it was during the winter of your first year of middle school. I was closing up the place for the end of the year when Haruka and Rin showed up. Apparently, they ran into eachother while Rin was back home."

Kisumi was the part of the basketball club back at Iwatobi Junior High School. He is said to be a refreshing boy and was very popular among females.

  • "A while back, our family went to the ocean, and we rode on a boat. Hayato got too excited and lost his balance, and he fell off the boat. He started to drown. The water wasn't too deep and we were able to save him quickly, so it wasn't anything serious. But it must have really scared him..."

Sosuke Yamazaki is the butterfly and freestyle swimmer on Samezuka Academy's swim team and a 3rd year high school student at Samezuka Academy. Sosuke is a close elementary school friend of Rin Matsuoka.
