FM Presents One-shot audio drama EMERGENCY RECASTING
Project Overview
Forward Momentum Productions, the people behind Sea of Stars and the Bubblegum Crisis audio drama, are conducting an emergency recast for a new one-shot fiction project.
ABOUT THE PROJECT:
We don't want to give too much away here, but the production will be a single, approximately 20-25 minute episode. It's a previously-published short story by a fascinating author who's given us permission to use her work.
It's also a real tear-jerker of a tale. I mean, I'm a burly, manly man and all, but I sobbed for a good twenty minutes the first time I read this. Be ye warned. ^_~
THE DETAILS
This project has a hard and fast deadline for release. As such, our usual relaxed recording schedule has to go right out the window. In its place is a firm deadline of one month from casting for all lines. No role here will exceed an hour's recording time (except possibly Daniel, but not two hours for him) so if you can't meet that deadline, this project is not for you.

All e-mailed auditions should be in mp3 or wav format, at or near CDquality if you can manage it. Naming convention is the standard “Character Name_YOUR NAME.mp3”. We prefer all audition lines for a character in a single file, but we don't insist on it. Critiques available upon request.

Female, young child. 11 years old. She's from California, but can have any accent.
Michelle is an often mischievous little girl. Not maliciously so, but she knows something you don't.
(Setting out for Neverland. Dad asks where she's going, Michelle answers seriously.)
“Away. It’s going to be an awfully big adventure.”
This is someone to read audio credits and the title card at the start of the episode.
“You've been listening to Lightspeed, by Alanna Smithee, a Forward Momentum Production.
Heard in this episode were: Jack Baker, as Daniel; Karen Penn, as Michelle; Terri Edwards as Torrey; and Johnny Wolfe as Michelle's father. This, is Emil Lang.”
Main character, Elderly male. Daniel has about 90% of the total lines here. North American, Maine accent if possible, but not required.
A sad old man,r emembering his sister, and a global tragedy we've all forgotten...or was it?
(Setting the stage for the rest of the story.)
“We don’t know when or where the singing started, but the earliest written record I can find points the finger at Michelle Pierce, of Crows Landing, California. ”(He's received a miraculous letter. An impossible letter. A letter, from the other side. )
“For a moment, I stopped breathing. How many left-behind brothers and sisters have received similar letters, I wonder, and never said a word? How many of us?”
