Flavour Nurse - An 8 Episode Rock Opera Audio Drama

A cosmic rock band must use the magic of music to restore balance to a dystopian galaxy.

We are currently casting for a range of voice acting roles for this series, which is already in production. Episodes are fully recorded with scratch tracks to make it easy for you - we just need you to replace the lines with your performance and bring these characters to life!

There are a diverse range of roles available - from colourful characters with a couple of lines, to powerful allies and enemies who appear frequently throughout the series. Check them out below and feel free to audition for multiple roles!

LovAnaverse Overview

Welcome to the LovAnaverse, a groundbreaking musical multiverse where stories, music, and community come together in an original shared universe. Music is a source of supernatural power in our universe, with rock, metal, and alternative music leading the charge—though many genres will have their place. Our goal is to create a vast array of living, breathing worlds where music, storytelling, and immersive experiences collide in cinematic audio drama episodes enhanced with art and animation. The experience gets even more interactive with the addition of our upcoming trading card game, featuring cards based on the stories.

You can check out our first episode now - the video embedded in this post. Whilst it is very dark, differing in style and tone to the Flavour Nurse series, it'll give you an idea of our production quality and vision. However, these episodes will be a little less visually dynamic and feature much more depth of story than the first episode.

About Flavour Nurse

Flavour Nurse is one of the core storylines within the LovAnaverse. A cosmic rock band journeys through a dystopian galaxy, using the magic of music to fight corruption, heal the broken, and challenge sinister forces that manipulate reality. Think of it as a psychedelic space opera, blending elements of sci-fi, fantasy, cyberpunk, mysticism, and cosmic revolution.

The band are a group of Faewarians (elemental elves) from a mystical world that seeks harmony throughout the cosmos. However, since The Celestial Democracy was established throughout the galaxy - many worlds have fallen to corruption and injustice. Flavour Nurse set out on a mission to liberate such worlds, finding themselves entangled in conflicts with powerful syndicates and malevolent entities, with their magical musical performances at the centre of the action. The ultimate struggle, however, will be within themselves - as they must confront deep set fears and the torment of a dark past looming over.

This series contains a mix of deep character arcs, high-intensity action, passionate romance, political intrigue, dark decadence, and potion-fueled mind-bending cosmic psychedelia. At moments it is light-hearted, silly & fun - at others it is deep, dark and intensely emotional. Designed for a mature audience, with regular themes of drug use (primarily through the use of potions) and occasional use of violence, sex, fear & coarse language. It is, however, not generally crude or overly explicit.

And it is, of course, all backed by an original soundtrack. Each episode features an original Flavour Nurse song & will be fully scored throughout, bringing the LovAnaverse’s musical storytelling to life.

Please note: This project is already in production and we are looking to get it finished and rolling out as soon as possible. Please only apply if you would be available to get us your parts reasonably promptly. You'll be given the script and scratch track for reference as soon as you're accepted, it'd be very ideal if you could then get us your parts within a few weeks. We would like to have all the performances in place by the end of March.

    Hey everyone, a big thank you to all who have auditioned so far! We really appreciate your interest in the project and are grateful to have received so many submissions from such wonderfully talented voice actors!

    Most of the main roles have now been cast, some still pending confirmation. The audition page will be closing up very soon. However, seeing as there are many great voice actors we haven't yet been able to include - we have added 7 new roles!

A reference for his voice would be Grog from The Legend of Vox Machina/Critical Role, though it is open to interpretation.


Croon is the band's drummer. He's a Gaia Faewarian (earth Elf) that bulks into a giant green form when riding on adrenaline - such as when he is playing drums with the band. When he's in this state, he gets rather clumsy and loafy, so his voice often sounds a little like that of a dumb giant, which makes him the source of a lot of the series comic relief. However, he often experiences dramatic burnouts afterward which leave him as more of a vulnerable, introspective character. At times he is very sensitive and emotional, particularly insecure about living in the shadow of his father, Big-Daddy Croon. His journey is a very human and relatable one, as he wrestles with overcoming his insecurities - learning to harness his inner strength to help his band and aid the cause.


Lines 1 & 3 are in his adrenaline form, line 2 he's burned out, in his basic form.

Ideally looking for a subtle exotic accent that is hard to place. Something similar to a Bond girl like Sévérine in Skyfall.


Aera is the most prominent role we are auditioning for. She is a very dynamic character that develops a lot throughout the series, serving as the love interest for the main protagonist Gaius. She begins as a strong spirited rebel fighting in the revolution to take back her home-world from a corrupt syndicate, who capture and imprison her. Once freed, we see a tender side to her, as she heals Gaius with a moment of musical magic. The two develop a romance that blossoms into a fairy-tale ending of E3, where their love inspires the revolution and helps to heal the world.


She shows great power and courage when she takes on the syndicate boss Orvas Zharn at the end of E3 in a fierce battle. She defeats him, but sacrifices herself in the process, a noble martyr for the cause. During the battle, Orvas is seen to be possessed by a dark entity which she absorbs before they both die. Through the magic of true loves kiss, Gaius revives her and their love beams abundance throughout the world. All seems to be wonderful, until the next episode.


In E4, Gaius and Aera's romance blossoms and takes centre stage. However there is a growing nervousness about something being off. She yearns to getaway with Gaius just the two of them, which causes tensions with the band. The two have a romantic escape together, which is deeply passionate and sensual under the influence of a strange aphrodisiac potion. She has become a lot more seductive now and convinces Gaius to run away with her to a far away world.


in E5, a year later, we find the couple running a decadent nightclub on a cyberpunk world. They are working with another syndicate and pushing a hard black market potion (drug). Gaius is very weak and Aera is clearly running the show. She has transformed at this point into a wicked seductress, a true femme fatale. When Gaius and Flavour Nurse seek to breakaway from the debauchery, she kills Gaius with a vampires kiss - revealing her vampiric demonic nature.


In E6, Aera is confronted by the band and destroyed in a dramatic twist, with the help of the syndicate boss. The demonic essence writhes from her and it is clear that the resurrected Aera was never truly her, only the demon that possessed her.

Overall Aera's role covers a lot of ground; from a young rebellious hero, to a tender romantic, to a manipulative seductress, to an evil villainous vampire. It's a great character with a lot of depth and we're looking for someone who can convincingly step into this key role.

In terms of features, Aera is a Turalin women - which is a humanoid alien species with grey skin adorned with glowing bio-luminescent markings. The colour of her markings change as she develops through the story.

BONUS: There is a small singing part where the character sings a spell in an alien language, it'll just be some made-up free vocalization that sounds somewhat exotic. It is not essential that you need to sing this part, but a sure bonus if you can.

Orvas Zharn - Cruel Syndicate Boss

Growling cockney accent preferred, but not essential.


Orvas Zharn is a cruel syndicate boss and tyrannical Governer-general of the alien world Turalis Magna. He is a key antagonist in the series and the focal enemy of E3. He is mean, sleazy, and keen to constantly assert his power. We primarily see him barking orders and offering a cold welcome to the band on his world - but we also see him in an intense battle scene, where he draws a wicked black blade from his obsidian cane. During the battle, we discover that he is possessed by a malevolent demonic force, which explains the extent of his power and influence.


Orvas is described as an ugly cigar-smoking ogre type of alien thug. The scratch tracks were recording with a low, growling cockney accent. Whilst this might offer a jumping off point, we are also open to different interpretations.

Zyara is an Agni Faewarian (fire elf) ranger who guides Flavour Nurse through the volcanic doomlands in the series finale, E8. She is the fierce leader of the Pyromantics, as such, she also has a romantic wisdom about her - though no actual romance in the episode. Instead we see her a strong warrior in an epic battle against demons, devils & a dragon. She mourns the losses afterward, but also understands destiny and nobly remains to take care of the aftermath.

Queen LuuxAria is the high Queen of the mystical world of Faewar - home to the Faewarian people (a sort of elemental elves), which includes the Flavour Nurse band. She resides at the Sanctuary in the Kingdom of Light and spearheads a democracy of monarchies that rule each of the planets six kingdoms. She is regal and commanding - a Galadriel sort of character that is the highest authority in her realm. She plays a key role in setting the band on their mission at the start of the story and welcoming them home at the end.

Alarys is a mature female diplomat that acts as an ambassador for her people and world, arriving on Faewar to meet the band and Queen and ask for help with resolving the conflict on her world, Turalis Magna. She is a native Turalin, a grey humanoid alien with bio-luminescent markings, who is graceful and stoic. She holds herself well, an experienced politician, who secretly leads her peoples revolution to take back their world from a corrupt syndicate. When all is done, she is elected as president of Turalis Magna.

Big-Daddy Croon is the giant green father of the band's drummer, Croon. He is a big, burly man that is constantly involving himself in extreme feats of strength and courage. He is naturally very alpha and brash, which makes his son feel very meager by comparison, insecure about living in his fathers shadow. He isn't deliberately mean though, he loves his family, he's just un-apologetically macho himself.

The Nyxari groupie is a sweet young lilac alien woman who becomes utterly infatuated with Raven, the band's guitarist. She celebrates with the band in E1 and is beside Raven when he wakes from a nightmare at the start of E2, in a scene that demonstrates his paranoid schizophrenic tendencies. Clearly he has gotten her hopes up the night before with romantic visions about how they're destined to be together. But having woken from a disturbing dream, he rejects her, acting like he doesn't even know who she is. He vanishes and she is left heartbroken.

A queer, camp theatrical voice is preferred. An exotic fantasy accent, or Arabic, Mediterranean or Latin American accent would be a bonus, but is not essential. Picture is just one possible version of the character, but the actual character art will be made to best suit your voice.


Saffrond is an eccentric and flirtatious spice wizard that offers Flavour Nurse a powerful potion in E1 that sends the band through a series of psychedelic dreams. He is mischievous and theatrical, very flamboyant, flirting his way through a fantastical party.

The demon leader is ultimately the same demonic essence that posseses both Orvas Zharn and Aera Lyran. In the final episode, it emerges as the final boss in the form of a giant devil and threatens to destroy the band. 


As well as the lines in E8, there may be some additional roars and effects, as well as potentially overlaying some of Orvas and Aera's lines.

The natural Dystogons are a green skinned tribal alien species that are playful and exotic. The female Dystogon speaks to the band with a chirpy, flustered tone. We are literally just looking for a bunch of alien gibberish for this - so have fun! :)
