Fireteam Spectral: Season One (2027)
Project Overview
Fireteam Spectral is an upcoming Halo 5 machinima, as well as being a Redux of the 2020 original series.
Season Synopsis:
"2555 - An uprising of insurgence amidst an uneasy post war era, has humanity frenzied for control. Grayson, Malachie, Fox and Adler are thrusted into responsibility after years of stagnant sidelining. A lucrative assailant with ties to a larger undoing war binds them into a deadly spiral of deceit and retribution. But what waits for them at the bottom is the most undoing of all."
Across this 10 episode season: Fireteam Spectral aims to be a tidy character driven narrative. Bluring the lines between Mystery, Action and Political Thriller. With elements of non linearity sprinkled in. Showcasing simple and complex themes like 'Brotherhood' 'Entropy' 'Worth' and 'The Lesser Evil' - All through the lens of layered characters that lay at the heart of the series. No ones screentime goes to waste!

(This was my first ever machinima I made back when I was 12-13. It hasn't aged well, hence the redux - only for those curious, its not very good tbh.
Having been a passion project of mine since 2019, Fireteam Spectral's development has been long and tenuous. With this 2027 release being a result of backpeddling on the continuation of the original series. Evolving into a enthralling narrative that I genuinely love and believe is worth telling. All with an aim to stand out, innovate, push boundaries and set the standard for what Halo Machinima can be!

Voice Actor
Being one of 4 MAIN deuteragonist. Fox is an extremely reserved and Stoic character. Serving as a silent rational middleground idealogically between his other 3 teammates.
With a deep voice - Speaking in a collected, Reserved, Snarky and somewhat Sarcastic manner. He remains objective, Often blunt with his responses, but still able to sneak in a quick funny qip or remark.

Being the silent type. Fox isn't forefront most of the time, But when he is, His mannerisms, tactical thinking and skillfullness distinctly pronounce him against the other 3 team members! Always letting actions speak louder than words. And when it comes to words, they're percise and cutthroat honest. His overall demeanor may come off as nihilistic when in a discussion - however whatever he says has a point to it.

Fox is a combination of 2 archetypes.
1st one being the "Hidden Trauma" Archetype.
2nd one being the "Good Soldier" Archetype.
Behind the stoic eyes. Fox chooses inexpression not out of resentment, but dissociation. Expanding on the "Hidden Trauma" Archetype, the complicated process of connecting with things when nothing has ever ended in a nice way. Fox's flaws are that very thing. Being the root cause of why he makes a "Good Soldier" is derived from that lack of connection, but rational level thinking that makes him very resourceful. Often being the one to challenge the rest of Spectral interpersonally.

His relationship (connection) with the rest of the fireteam are the only thing that has lasted the longest - making it a begrudgedly subtle softspot for Fox. Though he justifies it by looking out for his fellow man. Which may show he has virtures afterall.

Despite being the one with the least to say - Fox as a character is among one of my favorites to write out of the complex nature of him. He even ends up having his own spotlight episode in the first season.

Voice Actor
Serving as the LEAD in her own Subplot. Being a mother forced to pick up arms as a foot soldier for an insurrectionists malitia - Leah is an emotional anchor to the Antagonists side.
Spoken in a clear, soothing and empathetic voice - with a hint of constant exhaustion.
The context of the setting is a sudden rally of troops across planets to one base on another. Being apart of a bandit malitia - Its essetially like being at work. Leah is simply there to get the job done and get home to family, making her a very guarded and easily irritatable individual - though her walls come down when it comes to her family or her friend Samuel.
The point of Leah is to humanize the enemy. By showing an internal struggle, we understand that everything is grey and not black and white. And through her we understand that everyone in the way of Spectral isn't a monster - which sets up the tragedy that plays out in the story. As well as playing into the theme of "The Lesser Evil" heavily - she brings out a good side in one conversation with the main antagonist of the series. Showing the humanity behind enemy lines.
Leah's connection to the rest of the story goes much deeper - though I can't spoil it here. She is a contributing factor in the other subplot featured in the season. Becoming the catalyst that stitches the world behind enemy lines together.
She runs as the MAIN character of the B plot in the season - and its one of the newer plotlines I've quite excited to continue writing!

Voice Actor
Samuel is the deuteragonist within Leah's subplot. Him having a different outlook compliments Leah's only negative one in a way that grounds the both of them.
With Samuel speaking with a genuine charm and a relaxed tone.

Being slightly older and of another walk of life. Coming across as more relaxed and less pessimistic - only having more simple responsibilities - having been recently engaged.

Samuel acts as Leah's emotional anchor throughout the story. With him being the one good thing shes found by being brought to The Stronghold. However he is still apart of the Insurrectionist Malitia in the story, but Samuel is more so a pacifist compared to everyone else around. A level of empathy that resonates with people.

As a character, having someone who acts like thematic anchor within a thematic anchor makes me think Samuel can be a very memorable character.
(Relaxed) "You say it doesn't sound so bad now. Sure. Then you remember what you could’ve fit in your bags and now you feel stuck."
(Relaxed) "My fiance and I want this part of our lives to blow over first before having our own."
(Sentimental) "Thats the thing, I've never needed to fire this... Not once. Guts and glory come from doing the right thing. This job is just a shortcut to that."

The Hounds are made up of different characters.

The Hounds are the main antagonists special task force in a nutshell.
Being exactly what the name implies - throrough hunters that become an alarming threat in the season.

General Caldwell - One of the highest ranking generals in the UNSC.

A very direct and stout man, speaking clearly, confidently and effectively (Not beating around the bush too much). Commanding attention whenever he speaks or walks into a room.

Caldwell's existence sets up the larger UNSC voice and prescence within the story. He is unfortunately a minor role this season, but goes on to be a much larger player in the future story.

Voice Actor
Pike is a minor antagonist in the latter half of the season. Pike is an intimidating, enchanting and witty figure.
Speaking with a lone tone, with certain condescending smugness to him. All while being able to belt between being charismatic and being a threat.

Being the 10th division general, Pike is a cunning black market munitions dealer. Known for being a sharp salesman and hard to bargain with. Having his claws in the trade sectors, Pike's power extends throughout all the regions of humanities space (Being the Inner and Outer Colonies, and the Outer Sectors). This is smelt on his ego, acting on his own volition and finding a opportunity to gain from it. Which leads to his condescending and smug demeanor.

Pike serves as a minor role this season, but will go on to become apart of the larger picture in the later seasons.

Voice Actor
Admiral Partridge is a decorated war general. By present day he is renowned for his efforts during the Human/Covenant war - and is now a retired veteran. Speaking in a confident bassey voice.

However... Partridge somewhat kinda sorta struck a deal with the devil decades earlier. Having buried this secret of what kind of machine he began feeding during desperate times. Which connects to the biggest overarching plot thread in the series.

He isn't a major character in the story, but he is the very first character you meet in the first episode. As well as a central foundation piece within the story's larger narrative. (I wish I could spoil it so bad.)
