Fire Emblem Conquest Drama CD Series: Volume 4 Dub Project
Project Overview
What is this project for?
This is a fan dub of the Fire Emblem Fates Drama CD series!
For those who do not know, Fire Emblem Fates is the fourteenth game in the Fire Emblem JRPG series. It follows the story of Corrin, a royal who is torn between their birth family in Hoshido and their adoptive family in Nohr. They have to choose a side and decide their fate between light and dark.
Nintendo and Intelligent Systems released a collection of CDs that provided additional stories to the already plot heavy gave. The collection consists of four volumes, but the Conquest route is focused on two of them:
- Volume Three: Leo and Xander's Conflict
- Volume Four: Corrin's Birthday - Turbulent "My Castle"
We'll be focusing on Volume 4 for this audition.
- Volume Four: Corrin's Birthday - Turbulent "My Castle" - The story takes place in the "My Castle" that Corrin (female) has set up. As her birthday is coming up soon, everyone tries to create a spectacular surprise for her, but hijinks ensues and things don't go as plan. How will the army deal with these sudden changes and will they survive another plate of Felicia's cooking?
Requirements:
This is a project that I'm doing for fun, and I hope that you'll have fun recording for these lines as well! However, I want to use the base rules that should be standard.
- First, please ensure that your microphone is clear enough to hear your recorded lines. Additionally, also make sure that your recordings take place in an environment where you will get the minimal amount of background noise as possible.
- The characters in the Fire Emblem series have personalities that are unique and completely different to each other, with Fates being one good example. As this is a drama that deals with depressing scenes, do be prepared for some yelling, crying, and battle cries.
- Although this is a project made due to my love for the game and for fun, I still want to have an element of the workspace. Deadlines for each track are usually 2 1/2 - 3 weeks after I make the announcement on the Discord project server. Please do get your lines in before that date arrives. If you are unable to turn in your lines before and after the deadlines, it is best to not audition to put less stress on yourself. I don't want to trouble those who struggle with time management.
- Finally, please be respectful to every person who is submitting an audition. Anyone who auditions for a role here earns my respect for stepping up and being brave to audition. Even if you don't get the role you want, there are still roles you can obtain through the ensemble cast. If you are disrespectful to anyone, I will not cast you.
Regarding Payment:
As stated before, this project is for fun and I want everyone to have a good time. However, I will treat this project seriously as this is a passion project of mine and I will do my utmost to make this project a worthwhile time and to make sure that you don't feel ripped off.
Role Significance:
For the roles, there are two categories:
- Leading Roles - These roles mainly consist of unique characters who mainly appear for more than two tracks per volume. They include the members of Chrom's Shepherds and the Surviving Force led by Lucina.
*Do take note that some roles already have been casted to offsite actors. This casting call is for the remaining characters only.
A few final notes:
1.) Although each character in the actual game has a unique voice, it is encouraged to not force yourself to make your voice exactly like the original English Voice Actors or their Japanese seiyuus. Do your best to fit the CHARACTER, not the voice, is what I'm trying to say.
EDIT: The accents that are listed with each character are mainly a suggestion. Like I said previously, do your best to fit the CHARACTER, not the voice.
2.) The script is mainly formatted like this:

...then make sure to record both lines. There is usually a space between the lines.
3.) Discord is required. It will be used to have group readthroughs and sending out announcements.
4.) PLEASE DO NOT SLATE YOUR AUDITIONS. Just the lines will be good.

The Crown Prince of Nohr. Respected for his skill with a blade, he wields the divine blade Siegfried to slay his enemies. Fiercely protective of his family, but is understanding. Elder brother to Corrin, as well as Leo.

[stern, strict]: Nonsense. If you have truly turned against Nohr, I can no longer consider you my sibling. Forget any feelings you might have. We now stand as enemies opposite each other on the battlefield.
[reminiscent]: It often snowed at the Northern Fortress. Elise, Corrin, and I would have snowball fights when I visited. Sometimes, I still pack a bit of snow and throw it into the distance. Though I could never admit to the others that I do anything so childish.
[proud, to Corrin]: No. Making you dream come true was under your own efforts. You’ve become strong and left the fortress, met with the people of Hoshido, and once more brought us all together. Everything is thanks to you.
The youngest prince of the Kingdom of Nohr. Has a gift for magic with his divine tome, Brynhildr, which he wields with superior power. Riding on a steed as a dark knight, his talent cannot simply go unnoticed. Siblings with Corrin and Xander.
[stern]: Nohrian law is blunt on the subject of traitors. There is only one punishment... The sentence is death.
[annoyed]: These ghosts shall learn what happens when I miss out on a full eight hours! The next person to call me "grouchy pants" will suffer. Inconsiderate fools!
[impressed]: Compared to how you were back then, big sister, you really have become strong.
[asking]: Do you need any new weapons or equipment?
A man known to possess a sharp tongue and isn’t afraid to use it on others. He obtains pleasure by teasing others and watching them suffer. Despite all of his teasing, he is extremely loyal to his lord, Leo.
(If you are up to record such uncomfortable lines, then you have balls of steel, mate.)
[playing around]: Say, that’s a nice face you’ve got there. Would be a shame if someone were to slash it. Let’s have some fun, shall we?
[ready to battle]: Be gentle, boys... or whatever you are. I don't know what we expected, making ourselves so vulnerable in the dark. But you'll find out like all the others that I give as good as I get.
[subliminal, make it uncomfortable]: Hehe… Don’t you think fruits are arousing? Fresh and juicy, bittersweet… Touching these red fruits feels delightful.
