Fig Leaves
NEW: OFFICIAL FIG LEAVES FILM WEBSITE
When Friclan, a recently graduated art student completes his first piece, he is eager to display it in the local art gallery. However, when he unveils the piece the gallery owner appears shocked and refuses to buy it.
Shunned and confused at the vagueness of his rejection, stubborn Friclan becomes aggravated and enlists the help of an old friend, Teepa, a well-travelled outlander who offers to guide him to the different cities within the kingdom. Together, the two venture to find a gallery that will purchase and display the piece, but soon begin to realise that this may be more difficult than they first imagined.

Fig Leaves a fantastical drama that explores the topic of censorship within the creative arts, inspired by past and current situations of censorship within film, TV and music videos.
The film is set in a land inhabited by personified plants: for example Teepa is a fig tree and Friclan is a purple heart plant and this carries through into their designs!
Production Details:
- This is an independent short film that I am producing for my dissertation project at university.
- The film will be stop-motion animated film that will use papercraft puppets and miniature sets. The animation technique will be similar to that of Giangrande's music video for 'Paper Plane'.
- A fantasy/drama film.
- The film follows two main characters: Teepa and Friclan. The dialogue is largely halved between these two characters with supporting/extra roles also having a few lines.
- Links to concept art, snippets of the storyboard and a preview of the puppets I will be creating will be posted below!

Before you Audition!
- This film features profanity so please make sure you're comfortable with this when you apply!
- Please ensure you have a clear microphone.
- This is a 13 page script which falls dialogue heavy on the two main characters.
- If you are casted, it would be ideal that you deliver the lines within two weeks so I am able to begin animating the dialogue scenes as soon as possible! Please keep this time constraint in mind when applying.
Thank you for your interest in my project! I look forward to hearing any and all auditions that I receive!
