Fallout The Frontier Rework Casting Round 2
Project Overview
What is Fallout The Frontier?
Fallout: The New Frontier is a rework of Fallout: The Frontier, a released, Fallout New Vegas New Lands Expansion Mod. It is a new adventure centered around a conflict between the NCR Exiles, the Northern Legion, and the Crusaders in the snow-blasted remains of Portland Oregon. Featuring 2 major questlines, 60+ side quests, hundreds of new armors, weapons and items, and tens of thousands of lines of new voiced dialogue!

Following feedback, we are in the process of reworking the mod, from story adjustments to new quests and settlements. With fundamental changes and additions to the mod, such as the main quest content available, new voice acting will be needed. Some of which will be regarding completely new characters, while others will involve characters who appeared in Legacy whose VAs we are no longer in contact with.
Requirements for Auditioning Voice Actors:
We are currently looking for 18 years of age or older voice actresses and actors with at least a standalone mic (XLR mic preferred, no headset mics), a fair amount of voice acting or real-life acting experience (ideally a demo reel), with proper sound proofing.
Instructions for Auditioning Voice Actors:
We request that all VAs who are interested are also able to communicate and send/receive files through Discord servers and DMs. On Discord, you will be communicating with me (@ACTIONFIGHTER11#2791) via DMs or the Frontier VA Server's public chat. If you are cast, you will receive your lines through discord along with recording instructions, deadline, accent specifications, character bios, and line directions.
If lines are not received in time and the team and I fail to get in touch with you after repeated messages, we will have to look into recasting. If you are cast and have any complications, please notify me via Discord DMs as soon as possible.
Non-human characters that require significant audio effects or modulation will have a special tag in their name. Pre - Existing Fallout Franchise Characters that require voice actors who can impersonate the original voice files from the Fallout games they appear in will have a (Needs Impersonator) tag next to their name. Non-human characters include ghouls, robots, and super mutants. Any filters involved like gas masks or power armor helmets will not need to be done by voice actors or be added to the audition files. We mention them just as a reference for your own convenience. Unless we specify a specific accent, all characters, no matter what species, are to have the regular North American accent.
Additionally, some finer details of the rework writing is still in flux, which means certain characters from those parts of development may receive more lines to record after the initial script sending.
You should record all 3 audition lines included for each character. For each audition line, submit only one take. Be sure to follow the scene context and line instructions provided for the audition line. You should be recording through an audio recording software like Audacity or Adobe Audition. You should export and submit your audition as a .wav file (48 khz, 16 bit rate, mono). You do not need to limit yourself in the number of characters you audition for. In some cases, we go ahead and cast a voice actor for more than one role, if we can ensure each character sounds different enough from each other.
Once the deadline date is reached for a certain batch of characters, we will no longer accept more auditions for the specified roles within that batch. Over the next week or so, we will go over the submitted auditions and cast our characters.
CCC will automatically send you a message if you get cast. Additionally, we will send a private message to your CCC profile containing information on how to join a discord server where voice acting for the Frontier is managed. If there are any complications preventing that, please respond to our private message as soon as possible and we will work out solutions with you.
Final Message for Auditioning Voice Actors:
For those that audition and don’t make the cut, don’t lose heart as there are more characters to be up for grabs on future rounds of casting. If you'd like to follow future casting rounds for this project, please PM me on CCC; future rounds will be hosted on different casting call pages.
Best of luck! I look forward to hearing your great auditions!

The determined, brutal, and calculating Legionnaires make up the bulk of Legate Valerius' Northern Legion. Starting as few in number and embodying the Roman archetype of followers of Caesar, the Northern Legion has grown into a large force with many disgruntled locals, constructing their own identity of a mish mash of Legion and scav cultures and traditions. They have grown through appealing to the fears and dreams of local scavs, reacting strategically to the shock and awe of the NCR and Crusaders. As more flock to join their ranks and the NCR see their numbers thin, Legionnaires have become bolder and louder in their actions, taking on more decisive attacks in addition to hidden cloak and dagger operations.
We are casting for 2 additional male VAs to voice more Generic Northern Legionnaire NPCs, with each VA voicing around 110 lines each. We are looking for different grounded interpretations of a Northern Legionnaire, such as in vocal timbre (gruff, smooth, etc) or performance temperament (arrogant, calculating, determined, etc.)
Record all audition lines while referring to the notes below for each line and do one take of each line.
For the first audition line, you are greeting a friend of the Northern Legion, with confidence in and pride for the future. "Caesar" should be read as "Kai-Tzar".
For the second audition line, you lost track of an enemy that should have been an easy kill, leading to frustration and fear of being deemed useless to the Northern Legion cause. This is said during combat, so should be loud. "Legate" should be read as "Leh-GAHT".
For the third audition line, Quick and loud pain reaction after being shot, should be yelled out. We are checking for issues with audio peaking and restrained yelling with this line.

Bring glory to Caesar.
...The Legate doesn't NEED to know about this.

The player encounters her asking for help in finding her daughter, but the player later finds out that this was a lie and that she was setting a trap for them, after being told to by her Leatherjerk pack.
She is part of the Leatherjerks, an extremely pragmatic group of Scavengers who completely utilize what the wasteland gives them, often resorting to cannibalism. Skin turned into leather for armor and clothing, meat off the bone for nourishment, even bones fashioned into weapons if need be. Asides from those heavily involved in Sandlot, the rest are permanently hostile to anyone else and can be found in packs or alone.
She is suffering from a degenerative prion disease that she has gained from eating uncooked human flesh, and as such is prone to outbursts of forced laughter which is documented in the lines themselves.
Record all audition lines while referring to the notes below for each line and do one take of each line.
For the first audition line, you are getting the player's attention, but its clear that you aren't exactly the most confident about the story of needing help that you've come up with. You should be stuttering at the beginning due to the degenerative prion disease, trailing off with a soft spoken tone for the second sentence due to not being sure that you got the player's attention, and then yelling out once you've seen the player notice.
For the second audition line, you are explaining why you are just sitting outside in the cold. This was quite embarrassing.
For the third audition line, you are suffering from the degenerative prion disease and can't control your laughter. This should be loud.

H-hey! Uh... Help, please. I-I need your h-help, ma'am!
I-I got kicked out of the Wasted Angel by the b-bartender. It was either "stop bothering the c-customers and buy a drink" or get thrown out.
{Cry laughing, prion disease symptom}
Sibling of Buck, late 20s - early 30s. Despite his coldness, he’s still close with his sibling and quite protective of them. He’s the butcher of the pair, focused on the actual work and operations of the establishment; he does not appreciate anyone who wastes his time.
Record all audition lines while referring to the notes below for each line and do one take of each line.
For the first audition line, a matter of fact statement regarding what you sell.
For the second audition line, the player (with the cannibal perk) is asking about whether the store sells two-legged meat. You are quite annoyed at constantly hearing about this rumor and misconception about your store, just because of your heritage with the Leatherjerks.
For the third audition line, the player, who is no longer welcome in the store, has walked in. You are giving a stern and loud warning.

Everything but human and humanoid meat. We got some fresh yao guai in yesterday. I can get you a flank.
If you want to eat somebody, go find some snow angels. Plenty of cold cuts to go around outside the walls of the Lot.
I know who you are. You can fuck right off.
(They/them) Sibling of Chuck, late 20s - early 30s. Despite Chuck’s coldness, they are still quite close. They are the salesperson of the pair, regularly selling meat to the Jerky’s customers and improving perceptions of the Leatherjerks within Sandlot. They are quite proud of their identity as a Leatherjerk, thus enthusiastic towards those who want to learn more and cold to those who only want to trade insults.
Record all audition lines while referring to the notes below for each line and do one take of each line.
For the first audition line, unlike most residents of Sandlot, you are quite friendly when greeting a newcomer to both your shop and the settlement of Sandlot.
For the second audition line, you are vehemently dismissing a common misconception that just because you're a Leatherjerk running a butcher store, you'd be selling human meat.
For the third audition line, you have already told the player to never come back again after they betrayed you. You have now pulled out a gun. The second sentence should be yelled out.

Hey hey, welcome to the Jerky! I'm Buck, pleased to 'meat' you! Heh.
Absolutely not! We wouldn't have customers anymore if we did.
I told you to get out. Now I'm gonna show you!
Éamon Higgins’ life for the first ten years was the everyday life of any American boy at that time: Full of wonder, fun, trying to grasp the vast technological advancements around him… all the while every adult around him became increasingly more nervous for no discernible reason.
As the bombs fell in 2077, Éamon survived, as did his parents. What may sound like a soon-to-be drama and sob story, took a surprisingly positive turn. Not only did his parents live up to the ripe old age of 90, but he also got ghoulified when he hit advanced age, around 60-70 years old at the time.
This meant that, albeit with less skin and a bit of a stench, he enjoyed another 130 years of his life building multiple families, adopting dozens upon dozens of children (27 in total) and having 3 different wives over that entire time.
Living his life in the wasteland to an unusually good degree, his body hit its limit around his 200th year on this earth, when he began to display symptoms of becoming a mindless feral ghoul.
Content with his life, he first just wandered about and, after some time, sat down on a bench… and just waited to die in peace, in nature. Yet as the player character finds them, he may realize that he does want a bit more of an explosive ending to his life.
And so, with revolver in hand and a smile on his face, he stands side by side with the player on his journey… until the clocks ticks to its end, and he can finish off his life, fulfilled and ready to see his family again.
Higgins is a nice and helpful character who likes to ramble a bit, showing a smile whenever possible. He is not quite a soft man however, as he has hurt and killed before, albeit never for evil reasons, and he is quite a survival and people expert and very proficient with his revolver. He has a discernible Irish accent, coming from his father, and even learnt quite a bit of Gaelic, which came from his mother, and has also developed a weakness for simple and stupid jokes. Through his long life experience, he has also gathered quite a bit of wisdom and courage.
Record all audition lines while referring to the notes below for each line and do one take of each line.
For the first audition line, you are following the player and feel the radiation increasing, the player could get radiation poisoning.
For the second audition line, you are describing the sensation of turning feral. You've known this day would come but you'd be lying if it didn't scare you a bit. You have somewhat come to terms with your fate.
For the third audition line, you are getting ready for a fight. It should be yelled out.

Either you put on a rad suit, or you gulp down those Rad-X pills. I don't need someone to rival my beauty anytime soon.{soft chuckle}
I can feel it. It feels as if that arracht is trying to dig its fingers into the edges of my mouth, trying to pry it open. | And that growling... the stuttering, the shacking... I can still keep it at bay, but it may slip at any moment. | Let's enjoy our last few days together, eh? Nothing we can do but that.
It's a brawl! Fág an bealach!
A Legion soldier (late 20s - early 30s) sent to Junkflea to enlist anybody and everybody to the Northern Legion. He's generally friendly and not too pushy about recruitment either as the player can refuse him without him becoming angry. He's really just here for the paycheck and happy not to be on the frontlines.
Record all audition lines while referring to the notes below for each line and do one take of each line.
For the first audition line, you are getting asked why the Legion is so openly recruiting. You are giving "I just work here" energy.
For the second audition line, you are getting the attention of a potential recruit.

Look, I'm not in charge of this, I just send people their way. From what I can see, they're pulling in every member they can.
Well - hello there, you certainly look like someone who can handle themselves, am I correct?
The no-nonsense guard (30s) of the front gate of the Northern Legion HQ, Ostia. He takes his job very seriously and is dedicated to the Legion's cause. He should have a deep, commanding voice.
