Project Overview
What is Fallout The Frontier?
Fallout: The New Frontier is a rework of Fallout: The Frontier, a released, Fallout New Vegas New Lands Expansion Mod. It is a new adventure centered around a conflict between the NCR Exiles, the Northern Legion, and the Crusaders in the snow-blasted remains of Portland Oregon. Featuring 2 major questlines, 60+ side quests, hundreds of new armors, weapons and items, and tens of thousands of lines of new voiced dialogue!

Following feedback, we are in the process of reworking the mod, from story adjustments to new quests and settlements. With fundamental changes and additions to the mod, such as the main quest content available, new voice acting will be needed. Some of which will be regarding completely new characters, while others will involve characters who appeared in Legacy whose VAs we are no longer in contact with.
Requirements for Auditioning Voice Actors:
We are currently looking for 18 years of age or older voice actresses and actors with at least a standalone mic (XLR mic preferred, no headset mics), a fair amount of voice acting or real-life acting experience (ideally a demo reel), with proper sound proofing.
Instructions for Auditioning Voice Actors:
We request that all VAs who are interested are also able to communicate and send/receive files through Discord servers and DMs. On Discord, you will be communicating with SirDanteFettman (dantefettman) and TGSpy (helianwin) via DMs or the Frontier VA Server's public chat. If you are cast, you will receive your lines through discord along with recording instructions, deadline, accent specifications, character bios, and line directions.
If lines are not received in time and the team and I fail to get in touch with you after repeated messages, we will have to look into recasting. If you are cast and have any complications, please notify me via Discord DMs as soon as possible.
Non-human characters that require significant audio effects or modulation will have a special tag in their name. Pre - Existing Fallout Franchise Characters that require voice actors who can impersonate the original voice files from the Fallout games they appear in will have a (Needs Impersonator) tag next to their name. Non-human characters include ghouls, robots, and super mutants. Any filters involved like gas masks or power armor helmets will not need to be done by voice actors or be added to the audition files. We mention them just as a reference for your own convenience. Unless we specify a specific accent, all characters, no matter what species, are to have the regular North American accent.
Additionally, some finer details of the rework writing is still in flux, which means certain characters from those parts of development may receive more lines to record after the initial script sending.
You should record all 3 audition lines included for each character. For each audition line, submit only one take. Be sure to follow the scene context and line instructions provided for the audition line. You should be recording through an audio recording software like Audacity or Adobe Audition. You should export and submit your audition as a .wav file (48 khz, 16 bit rate, mono). You do not need to limit yourself in the number of characters you audition for. In some cases, we go ahead and cast a voice actor for more than one role, if we can ensure each character sounds different enough from each other.
Once the deadline date is reached for a certain batch of characters, we will no longer accept more auditions for the specified roles within that batch. Over the next week or so, we will go over the submitted auditions and cast our characters.
CCC will automatically send you a message if you get cast. Additionally, we will send a private message to your CCC profile containing information on how to join a discord server where voice acting for the Frontier is managed. If there are any complications preventing that, please respond to our private message as soon as possible and we will work out solutions with you.

Generic NCR trooper made up of both men and women. Major faction that is found in large number of locations in both fights with other NPCs and the player. This roles consists of nearly 250 lines of greets directed at the player and combat lines.
First line, player has been making themselves invaluable to the NCR and have made major strides at winning the war.
Second line you are bitter about a major loss in a recent battle.
Third line, the player has a bad reputation and you're putting them down.

An influential Ice Slicer (glorified water merchant with extra steps) in Sandlot, Murdoch is a shrewd businessman and something of a profiteer. He has a knack for sensing where the winds will blow, and this has helped him and his crew significantly in the past. Now, with the NCR's threat looming, he's looking for the best way to leverage the situation. Within Sandlot, his biggest competition remains the Water Pump after its ownership was transferred over to Sandlot. However, conveniently for the Ice Slicers, the water pump broke shortly after the transfer. Rumors are abound that the Ice Slicers sabotaged it before releasing it because he's able to price gouge the scavs of Sandlot with clean water while the free water is irradiated and toxic.
His biggest client remains Sandlot's greenhouse, with Salt Town surprisingly helping with business. He’s definitely able to keep himself out of controversy by providing very neutral takes on anything controversial, while still ensuring he always comes out on top.
Approximately 90% of Murdoch's lines are written, but future lines for ending quests are planned.
For the first audition line, you are giving a passionate sales pitch of your faction, distracting from the fact that you are trying to obtain a monopoly over the entire settlement's water supply.
For the second audition line, the player tries to convince you to help out the settlement for free and relieve the stress that other residents feel. You're trying to gaslight the player.
For the third audition line, the player attacked you but yielded ending combat and you've agreed to stop too.

Pvt Barney "Goggles" is a drunk. After experiencing the loss of his entire squad to a Legion ambush, he sank into the bottle. Using every opportunity he can as an excuse to drink away his pain, he often wants to bring others around him into his self-destructive binges. When the player finds him, he's waiting on his friend and patrol partner Pvt. Novak to arrive at the Wasted Angel to drink with him (which he has already started) and asks the player to find him.

Likai is a Defender of Shanghai, a tribe of descendants of the pre-war population of Chinatown in Portland, that is an expert in plumbing maintenance and water systems. He moved away from Little Shanghai and now ensures that the water around the Wasted Angel is always flowing. Due the NCR commandeering his pump station and changing its flow, feral ghouls have now infested the pump station, stopping him from fixing what the NCR broke. He can speak some mandarin. American accent.

Gail Brown is one of many food vendors within Sandlot, her personality is akin to an old waitress working at a diner with a rota of regulars she's most happy to see. She doesn't particularly care for the Legion and would prefer Sandlot stay largely independent. Her specialty is "coffee" which is just cosmic root beer boiled down and then served with bighorner milk.
First line, you're meeting a new customer.
First line, someone has just finished buying from you and you don't want to hear their complaints.

Joshua is one of only a couple of gunshop vendors in competition with the Frozen 41st. Despite the expertise of 41st, he's making headway as a reliable firearms vendor. However, while he's quite experienced with guns, he's not the brightest and his personal relationships are festering while he focuses entirely on his business. When the player finds him, he is obsessed with "sponsored" guns.

Cai is a Defender of Shanghai found in Sandlot who was sent to get supplies with his partner Xinyi. However, he went out of his way to argue with the local Frozen 41st merchants. He is proud, hot headed Defender of Shanghai and is quite hostile towards the Frozen 41st. He can speak some mandarin, but largely sticks to English. American accent.
For the first audition line, you are angrily dismissing the Frozen 41st running the shop.
Third line, Xinyi is pronounced like Shin-yee.

Bagdis and his mate Furfur are part of a pack of Leatherjerks from the Body of Bone (religious cannibals) sent to Sandlot to mark worthwhile prey with their pack leader Tame. When the player finds Bagdis and Furfur, they are arguing over who is allowed to take point on a hunt. Bagdis insists he takes point again and insults his mate Furfur's hunting ability. The player can intervene and convince Bagdis to come around to letting Furfur take point or influencing him to abandoned his mate.
Depending on how the player solves this, Bagdis either stays alive with his mate or dies alone.

Furfur is Bagdis' mate and hunting partner. They are in Sandlot together to mark prey for the main Body of Bone, but are currently fighting. Depending on how the player solves the issue will make Furfur grateful or angry at the player.
