Project Overview
Please read before auditioning. Deadlines are 1–2 weeks after scripts are sent out. Exceptions can be made if you communicate in advance life happens. However, if punctuality and reliability are not something you can commit to, please do not audition. We want a cast that respects everyone's time. Only audition if you are serious about seeing this through.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
in the small town of Brookwood, nothing ever truly happens. until the night of Winter Formal, when five Friends stumble upon a body hidden deep in the woods. What begins as an ordinary school dance spirals into a mystery that shakes the entire community.
As rumors spread and fear takes hold, attention turns to three girls known for their perfect image and impossible secrets.
Driven by curiosity and fear, the friends begin to piece together the truth behind the discovery. But the deeper they dig, the more they uncover a web of lies stretching back to summer
while someone in town who will do anything to keep the past buried lurks.
You must have a Discord account and a decent quality microphone.
Please speak clearly and naturally so your performance is easy to understand.
Do your best to convey strong emotion in each line, and minimize background noise as much as possible.
All voice actors must be able to submit their lines on time.

Sebastian is the story's narrator He has a dry sense of humor and a tendency to overthink, but when things get serious, he's the one who pushes forward when everyone else wants to stop. His voice should feel grounded and introspective, capable of both casual humor and haunted, heavy narration.

"We need to— we need to call someone." (hands shaking, voice cracking, barely keeping it together as he dials 911)
"Natalie is still missing, Dylan. She's still out there right now. somewhere we don't know and every day that passes—" (cutting himself off, frustrated and scared)
Sophie is warm and easy to talk to she's the kind of person everyone likes without her really trying. She notices stuff about people and actually cares about what's going on around her. She's not a pushover though, she'll say when something feels wrong. She and Sebastian have a close thing going on that neither of them has put a name to yet.

"She was in my English class. Freshman year. She sat by the window and used to draw little spirals in the margins of her notebook. And I just stopped thinking of her as someone I actually knew when she became the girl on the poster." (quiet, guilty, genuinely upset)
(screams sharp, piercing, genuine terror upon seeing the hand in the dirt.) "Get us out of here. Please. Please get us out of here." (grabbing Sebastian's arm, crying)
Sierra is sharp, funny, and outspoken she says what everyone else is thinking, usually before they've even thought it She's the one making jokes and keeping things light until she can't anymore. She's fiercely loyal and not easily rattled, which makes it all the more striking when she is. Her range is big and her voice should reflect that.

"It's like they think we did something wrong. Like we're the story." (frustrated and exhausted, sick of being stared at all day)
(screams, stumbles backward) "No! No no no!" (voice breaking, crying, genuinely falling apart)
Jason is a pretty typical sporty guy on the surface easygoing, funny, bit of a teaser. But he's actually the most emotionally aware person in the group even if he doesn't make a big deal of it. He knows when to push people and when to back off. When everything falls apart he's the one staying calm and trying to keep everyone else from spiraling.

"She doesn't look like someone who's lost someone. She looks like someone waiting for something." (low and serious, watching Brielle across the cafeteria)
"What?! What is it?!" (sharp, stepping forward then seeing it, voice going completely hollow:) "Holy shit."
Dylan complains about everything. He doesn't want to go to the dance, doesn't want to take the woods shortcut, doesn't want to get involved in any of this. But he shows up every single time anyway because he cares about his friends even if admitting it would kill him.

"We didn't choose any of this. We were just going to a stupid dance and now—" (cutting off, frustrated and overwhelmed, voice cracking slightly)
(turns away sharply, voice choked) "That's a person. That's a fucking person!"
Natalie is one of those people everyone thinks has it all together. Good grades, popular, always looks fine. But she's been holding something really bad in for months and by the time we actually see her she's about to break. She goes from trying to hold herself together to completely falling apart

"I can't keep doing this! I can't pretend everything's fine!" (loud, in public, past the point of caring who hears)
"I'm done. I'm telling them. Tonight." (voice shaking, tears in her eyes, completely done pretending)
Harper never raises her voice. That's what makes her scary. She's calm and controlled and says just enough to make you feel like you've been warned without ever actually threatening anyone. She's always the most put together person in the room and she uses that. Her voice should stay flat and measured even when the scene is intense

"This town's smaller than you think. And asking the wrong questions draws the wrong attention." (quiet, looking Sierra dead in the eye)
"Stop. Both of you. People could hear." (hissed, sharp, genuinely rattled but trying to hide it)
Brielle has been falling apart slowly for months. She's not a bad person she just made choices she can't undo and has been living with that. She still tries to look put together but it's not working anymore. Unlike Harper, she can't fully shut her emotions off, which makes her the most unpredictable one.

"We're still going together tonight, right?" (casual, confident, normal before everything goes wrong)
"Are you serious right now? Tonight's supposed to be perfect and you're doing this HERE?" (furious at Natalie, embarrassed, scared)
"I'm sorry." (barely audible, alone in her room, talking to a photo)
We're looking for people to fill background and side roles students in the hallway, news reporters, school staff, police officers, and more. Some of these will be a line or two, others might grow into bigger recurring parts as the series develops. New named characters will be announced as more episodes are written.
If you want to be on our radar for future characters, you're welcome to submit a demo reel alongside your audition lines Pick whichever lines fit your voice. You don't need to do all of them just choose what feels natural and shows your range.
Teen / student — gossiping
"Did you hear? They found a body in the woods. Like, an actual body. Last night." (hushed, scandalized, a little too excited about it)
Adult / parent — worried
"You're not going anywhere until they find out what happened. I don't care what your plans are." (firm, no room for argument, genuinely scared)
Authority / police — professional
"We're going to need you to go over everything again. From the beginning. Take your time." (calm, controlled, giving nothing away)
News reporter — tense update
"A second Brookwood teenager is now reported missing, and tonight this quiet mountain town has more questions than answers." (measured, professional, just doing the job)
