A romantic comedy about Miroku, a notorious youkai known as the Slit Mouth Woman. The public's belief in the supernatural has declined and as Youkai are tied to this world from belief. To save herself, she must submit to an arranged marriage with Koichi Sano, the son of a human family charged with aiding supernatural beings. Unenthusiastic about the marriage, Miroku strikes a deal with Koichi to call off the engagement if she is able to scare him before his eighteenth birthday, but she must go through with the wedding if she falls in love with him.

Miroku is a slit-mouthed woman whose ear-to-ear smile strikes fear into the superstitious. Once an infamous urban legend, the self-proclaimed "Queen of Folklore" has found her existence threatened by the public's declining belief in her. She is also roped into a contractual marriage with Kouichi Sano, a member of a family responsible for the continued existence of the supernatural.
Miroku is unenthused by the arrangement and wishes to regain her notoriety through her own means. For this reason, Sano makes his fiancée a deal: if she can scare him once before he turns 18, he will end the engagement.
Miroku is a sweet and tender girl with a bit of a dorky side to her that she tires to keep to herself.

Supporting character. The bodyguard of Koichi Sano.
Uda is a caring and carefree guy. He's always seen being cheerful but easily scared when faced against horror. Uda is both flirtatious and shy. Despite being seen as a cheery guy, Uda can be quite menacing if he saw any member of his family or close friends being hurt.
"Do you have any idea how much school you've missed!?"
"Nice to meet ya! I'm Kouichi's bodyguard!"
